If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire athttps://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Merle  (MER0925SCOMN)Estimated Breed:   Feist MixApproximate Age:  1-2 yearsApproximate Weight:   34-35 lbsCurrently Living at:   BoardingAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Meet Merle — the medium-sized heartthrob you didn’t know you needed!     This young cutie pie is as sweet as cotton candy (sticky with love and totally irresistible).  Merle is calm, cool, and collected — basically the canine equivalent of that one friend who always remembers to bring snacks, gives the best hugs, and never gets mad when you pick the wrong Netflix show. He’s friendly with people, dogs, AND cats, making him the ultimate social butterfly (minus the wings… although, with his charm, he might as well fly).     Looking for a buddy who’s sweet as can be, adores life, and is ready to love you unconditionally? Then Merle is your guy. Don’t wait — apply today and scoop up this cutie before someone else does. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Current Location: Maurertown, VA Hello! My name is Felix (F Litter)! I've just arrived at OPH. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I'm searching for... * someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hrs, at least not until I am older. The older I am the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quick and when I'm bored I could get in trouble. * I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun! * I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever!

Story
Crazy little Benjamin belonged to an elderly lady who thought that food=love. Unfortunately she passed away and her family dumped him at the high kill shelter. Luckily for Benji, we were called and we litteraly ran to get him out of there. When we picked him up, we were shocked! He weighed 27 pounds. He could barely walk, he had fat rolls everywhere (pics on request) He was also scared out of his mind and hid under a table for 5 days. Poor baby was traumatized. One day he had a loving home, next day he was in a horrible place. So the process began, we got him some healthy food for overwight dogs and little by little, the pounds began to melt away. Once he became healthy and slim, we had his teeth cleaned and vaccined him. He is now ready for his forever home. As you can see in the video, he loves children. He is creat trained, heart worm negative, microchipped and ready for immedieate transport. Oh and by the way, he now weighs 15 pounds!! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND WE TRANSPORT OUR PETS TO YOUR AREA ADOPTION FEE $500
