Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- SOLOMON IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG. Solomon is a 7-year-old min pin and chihuahua mix I believe, and he loves to sing.  He loves to listen to music and some of his favorite artists are Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Drake. Solomon is house broken and loves to sit and watch people out of the front door and windows.  He loves being outside and loves walks in the park and around the neighborhood.  Solomon does not tear things up like mail, toilet paper, socks, or trash.  He also loves to cuddle and be rubbed.  Solomon hates baths and water but I give him a bath anyway telling him that he has to be clean. He loves treats and his favorite treat is duck wrapped sweet potato from Wal Mart.  Solomon loves bones and his favorite toy is Lamb Chop or any bear that he can tussle with.   Solomon does growl sometimes when he sees other dogs and cats. He also runs after birds if he sees them and barks. Slow introductions are needed with dogs, cats, and children. Solomon does get protective of his person, so he would do best in a home with no children and perhaps just one adult that he can bond with. If you are interested in adopting Solomon, please go to www.reachoutrescue.org and fill out an application and we will forward it to his caretaker for review. You may also contact his caretaker directly at : eddinaw6@yahoo.com Phone:302-256-4318Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 12:36 am

Story
***ADOPTION PENDING*** Introducing Beowolf! With such a big name for a little dog, he responds to Beo (BAY-oh). Beo was an owner surrender who was loved by his dad (and grandma) for the past 8 years, but as their family grew, Beo couldn't stay (for NO fault of his own). Beo came to CCDR right before the holidays and his first few days were busy with an initial vet checkup and then he had a dental cleaning two days later. We don't believe that Beo ever had his teeth professionally cleaned, so he had a lot of buildup on his teeth, and four of his bottom front incisors were pulled since they were already loose. Beo did very well during his two vet visits and he was friendly with every person and dog he met along the way. Beo was described to us as being "affectionate, house and crate trained... great with other dogs, children and strangers" and he is living up to that description. He is quiet and polite and has a cute little whine that he uses to ask for something. Beo was previously an only dog, but he’s been getting along very well with his three new foster siblings. We also introduced him to cats, and he showed very little interest in them. He is such a ‘live and let live’ little fella! Since Beo was previously accustomed to high-rise apartment living, he is really enjoying being off-leash in his foster family's fenced yard. He likes exploring and prancing around and enjoys running with a tennis ball (he needs to work on the fetch and bring back part). Beo likes lots of attention and wants to always be with his person and will follow you everywhere. He gets a little antsy, at first, in the car and alone in his crate, but he does settle in and enjoys the view or takes a nap. We're told that Beo is a mix. We're not sure if some Dachshund or Terrier might be part of this little (14-pound) Chihuahua's DNA, but whatever the composure of his genetics, he sure is adorable and well-behaved! In fact, his foster family says that “Beo is the best-behaved foster dog that we’ve ever had!” Beo will certainly be a devoted companion to an individual or small family. He’ll most likely do best in a home as an only dog, where he’ll receive endless attention, or with one other dog who will pal around and play with him. Beo is being fostered in York, PA and his current veterinarian is in Ellicott City, MD. Please apply if you live local enough for Beo to join us when we conduct your home visit.

Story
Peter is 7 years old. He loves cuddles and taking naps. He unfortunately has a long history of recurrent calcium oxalate bladder stones, and has had two surgeries to remove them. Despite all proper care, the stones keep coming back and he likely requires another surgery. In the interim, he is having accidents in the house as a symptom of new stones. I would love for Peter to join a family that can care for his medical needs and give him the love and affection he enjoys so much.
