9/29/26 Update! We did it thanks to you!Because of your generous donations, shares, and kind words, we met our goal and Pretzel received the surgery she needed. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who rallied around this sweet puppy and helped give her the chance to live a happy, pain-free life.Pretzel, a nearly 6-month-old Feist-type mix who was found in Wise County, Virginia, after being dumped in a graveyard with her sister, underwent her Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery with Dr. Pat Denney at Reston Animal Hospital. We are thrilled to share that she has recovered very well!Now, Pretzel is ready for her next big adventure: finding her forever home. This resilient, happy girl is officially available for adoption and ready to bring her sweet face and loving spirit to a family of her own.Thank you again to Rescue Dog & End of Life Sanctuary, Jeffrey Locke for providing Pretzel’s rescue flight, Dr. Pat Denney and the team at Reston Animal Hospital, and every member of our incredible community who donated, shared her story, or cheered her on.Please help us spread the word that Pretzel is ready for adoption. Pretzel is only 5.5 months old, and she is asking for help with an injury no puppy should have to carry.Pretzel is a Feist-type mix who was found in Wise County, Virginia, dumped in a graveyard with her sister, Pizookie, who is already available for adoption. Because Pretzel’s past is unknown, we may never know exactly how she was hurt, but we do know she deserves comfort, healing, and the chance to grow up without pain.Rescue Dog & End of Life Sanctuary took Pretzel in and arranged x-rays, which confirmed she has a broken hip. Thanks to Jeffrey Locke’s rescue flight, Pretzel was brought to the Fauquier SPCA, where she can access the care she urgently needs.The always amazing Dr. Pat Denney will perform Pretzel’s Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery at Reston Animal Hospital. This procedure will help relieve her pain and give her the best chance at a happy, healthy future and eventually, the forever home she deserves.We need to raise $2,000 to cover Pretzel’s surgery and help her take the next step toward a full, pain-free life. I’ve thrived in a home environment and have done well living with other dogs, though I do appreciate breaks from them sometimes. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Tammy, the Farm's resident low rider! Don’t let that fool you though – Tammy makes up for her small size with a big personality. Around the Farm, she’s well-known for her unique appearance and goofball antics. Since having her dental she is often found sticking out her tongue at staff members – even while she sleeps! When she’s not being a bit silly, Tammy is such a sweetheart. Curious and smart, she loves cuddling and giving kisses, but also exploring and running around, especially if it means she gets to chase off squirrels (aka Tammy’s nemeses). Tammy also loves going on walks but wants to be very clear that she’s the one walking you, and she will judge you if you try to interrupt her sniffing. In a home, Tammy thinks she rules the roost (which, of course, she does) and will call dibs on any comfy piece of furniture. She’s done well with kids as young as 9, but would do best in a home with no other pets. Tammy would probably be happiest in a home where she’s the only pet, and can be treated like the princess she is! Introducing, Odele! She is 9 weeks old and ready to steal your heart. The first thing you will notice about this puppy is her cuteness (obviously), but also her unique coloring. Note the black strands on her tail that make it look like it was dipped in ink. The second thing you will notice when you've spent any amount of time with her is that she is really smart. I know all "Mom's" say this, but on her first day she was letting out a bit of a whine on the way to the door when she was ready to go out. Her temperament is fantastic. Everyone is amazed at how well behaved she is. She is doing great in her crate and has not had any accidents in the last week. She has bursts of playful energy and adorable bounciness followed by extended naps. She loves belly rubs and is a great car traveler. She is always wagging her long tail. She will follow you around if you leave the room, but is not clingy. She has been friendly and requested head scratches from everyone. She has also met a few furry friends and small children and is patient and playful with all.She plays independently and is really good at fetch. She eats well but is not food aggressive. Despite her small size, she has done stairs since the day we got her. She is fearless! An all-around great puppy.
