Story
Montie is a loyal, loving boy who has been dealt a harsh hand. Originally discovered protecting his late owner's body in their home, Montie was brought in by a friend of the family. The family friend then unfortunately fell on hard times and suffered an injury that prevented him from continuing to care for Montie any longer. Now Montie is being fostered while he awaits his final forever home - He currently has his checkups scheduled and will be receiving any necessary medical care, however please be aware that Montie may be a hospice case. He is a kind boy who wants nothing more than to follow his favorite human and get comfortable. A simple glance is all it takes to get this handsome fella to wag his tail and show you that sweet smile! Anyone would be lucky to meet this precious pup as he is full of love and kisses. Montie would do best in a home without other dogs as he has unfortunately been attacked by off-leash dogs before, however he is a tolerant boy who makes it clear when he is upset and wants some space! He is an excitable boy on the leash and loves to explore - he isn't the strongest pup in town, but he could do with a few pointers on walking. Are you able to give Montie his final forever home and a life filled with love? Please reach out! ~ Montie is being shared as a courtesy listing and is not affiliated with the Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue ~ ~ You can reach out to the current foster directly via email; JackMullaney@Hotmail.co.uk ~

Story
Meet Haus, a mellow and easygoing 9-year-old Lab/Boxer mix who’s looking for a loving home where he can truly shine. Haus is a well-behaved gentleman who thrives in a home environment and gets along well with cats. He’s a laid-back companion who enjoys the comfort of home and is not destructive. While Haus is a joy indoors, he can be reactive on a leash, so he will need an owner who is diligent and attentive during walks. Despite this, he remains an ideal dog in every other aspect. Haus is well-trained, easygoing, and will bring a calm and steady presence to any home where he is the only dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who is content with a relaxed lifestyle and can offer all his affection to a single-dog household, Haus is ready to find his forever family.

Story
Brownie — who may also be called “Chaucer,” because like the characters in The Canterbury Tales, he’s on a pilgrimage — could it be to find you? Brownie is outstanding in the home, wonderful with kids, and excellent with people. While he hasn’t been officially cat-tested, he may be okay with cats as well. He’s truly a foster favorite. He is gentle, affectionate, empathetic, and deeply loyal. And he has those antenna ears! Brownie has had a difficult past. He was found in a dumpster along the San Fernando Highway, and there is reasonable evidence that he may have been used as a bait dog. Because of this trauma, he must be the only dog in his home. When Brownie first came into rescue, he required urgent veterinary care, including the removal of embedded foxtails. He has since fully recovered and is thriving, with a soft coat, bright eyes, and a growing sense of safety and confidence. Brownie has completed professional training with Cade Overturf of Your Best Companion and has made wonderful progress. To support a successful transition, complimentary training sessions are included for his adopter, providing guidance and continuity as he settles into his forever home. Brownie loves walks, hikes, tug-of-war, and simply being by your side. He enjoys training, responds well to structure, and blossoms with consistent, calm leadership and affection. He is a kind soul with so much love to give and will be a devoted companion for the person or family ready to offer him a stable, dog-free home and a fresh chapter. Note from foster: Brownie is a gentle, affectionate dog who thrives with structure and consistency. He’s calm in the house, enjoys his walks and training, and forms a deep bond with his person. Because of his past, he needs to be the only dog in the home, but with people he is loyal, intuitive, and deeply loving. With a stable, dog-free home and continued guidance, Brownie will be a devoted and rewarding companion.

He previously lived at a sanctuary in Santa Monica that was tragically lost in the fires, and now he’s looking for a quiet, safe place to call home. Meet Raffi, a vibrant and friendly 1-year-old Lab/Boxer mix who’s ready to find his forever home. Raffi was rescued as a puppy from an irresponsible situation where someone was giving away pups on the street. His litter has all found homes, but Raffi is still waiting for his perfect match. Raffi is a bundle of energy who loves going for hikes, walks, and any chance to play. He’s great with all people he meets and is very dog-friendly, though he isn’t a fan of cats. His lively personality and zest for life make him a fantastic companion for an active family or individual who enjoys the great outdoors. Story
Meet Duncan! Duncan’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. When we saw him on social media listed for euthanasia due to severe skin issues, dental disease, and his age, we knew we couldn’t let that be the end of his story. We stepped in and brought him to CARES, where our team quickly realized he needed specialized dermatology care. At MASH, Dr. Ganz performed a full exam and biopsies, fearing possible autoimmune disease or skin lymphoma. Thankfully, the results came back negative for cancer and autoimmune disease — just chronic inflammation! With Atopica and medicated baths, Duncan’s skin is healing beautifully. It may never be perfect, but he’s feeling so much better and thriving every day! Duncan is a 9-year-old, 45-pound Lab mix with a heart as big as his smile — and yes, he really does smile! He’s sweet, loving, and full of playful energy. He listens well, aims to please, and adores being around people. Duncan shines as a family dog — gentle and patient with kids, loyal to his people, and always ready for fun. He loves chasing balls, carrying toys, and resting his head (or whole body!) right in your lap. If you’re looking for a joyful, devoted companion who will fill your home with love and laughter, Duncan is your guy!

Story
Meet Stella: A Sweet Soul Searching for Her Forever Home! Stella is an 8-year-young Labrador mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines! She adores people and enjoys playing with bigger dogs, making her a wonderful companion for an adult-only home where she can be the spoiled queen she deserves to be. This resilient girl was found on the streets after a kind-hearted Good Samaritan feared she had been hit by a car. Thankfully, she hadn’t—but she still needed a hero. That’s when Hope For Paws stepped in to rescue her! Now, Stella is ready to find a forever home or a foster family to shower her with love. Though she has a bit of arthritis (as wise pups do!), she still loves to run, play, and chase after her favorite tennis balls. She’s a perfect mix of playful and cuddly—a loyal friend who just wants a safe, loving place to call home. Could you be the one to give Stella her happily ever after? If you’re interested in adopting or fostering this sweet girl, please reach out today. Let’s find Stella the loving home she’s been waiting for! #AdoptStella #FosterMe #RescueDog #HopeForPaws

Story
Hi, I’m Donna. You wouldn’t believe my backstory if I could tell it myself. I found myself at the shelter in Bakersfield, after being removed from the shelter I was passed from one person to another, and even spent time living on a horse farm in a barn. Then, a kind woman in Ohio noticed me and reached out to a trainer with Forte. Thanks to her, I’m finally safe—and now I’m searching for my forever home. I’m a sweet and soulful girl who just wants to please. I’ll be your best travel buddy (Car rides? YES PLEASE), walk buddy, and really—your wherever-you-go buddy. I love to chill in the sun, relax at home, and go on long walks by your side. I get excited to see other dogs and I really enjoy making friends with them.  I'm also healthy and have all my vaccines. I'm getting spayed on November 17th. My life is already getting better! If you meet me, I’ll gaze right into your eyes with my big brown ones, and I think you’ll feel it too—I’m ready to be your best friend forever. ##2553741##

Story
Meet Snuffles—better known as Snuffy! A loyal and intelligent approximately seven-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, and Siberian Husky mix currently living in San Francisco, CA, whose heart is as big as his 75-pound frame. With his sleek black coat and soulful eyes, Snuffles is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people, always eager to please and quick to learn, especially when there are treats involved! Snuffles is a well-trained and affectionate companion who knows a variety of commands, including sit, stay, heel, and “place” (which means he’ll go straight to his crate or bed like a pro). He thrives in a structured environment and enjoys having a routine, whether that’s his morning and evening walks, backyard playtime, or simply lounging indoors by your side. Despite his size and strength, he’s more of a quiet presence—rarely barking unless there’s a reason. When it comes to his favorite pastimes, Snuffles is all about chasing tennis balls and splashing in his wading pool. He has an endearing way of tilting his head when you talk to him, as if he’s hanging on to every word, ready to be your devoted sidekick! While Snuffles is deeply devoted to his people, he is also protective of his space and has shown reactive behavior toward unfamiliar individuals entering the home. He has bitten people who attempted to pet him when he was uncomfortable, so he needs a patient, experienced caregiver who can respect his boundaries and continue working on his confidence with positive reinforcement. He is also dog-reactive and would do best as the only pet in a calm environment. Snuffles is being rehomed because his elderly guardian can no longer provide the structured environment he needs. A quiet suburban or rural home, away from the overstimulation of city life, would be ideal for him. To make sure that Snuffles has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. This strong, intelligent boy is looking for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. If you have experience with protective dogs and can provide Snuffles with the structured life he needs, he will be a fiercely loyal and loving companion. Are you ready to be Snuffy’s new best friend? If so, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about this special boy!

If we were to describe Sundrop in one word, it would be lovely. She is as playful as Golden Retrievers can be. She is family and kid-friendly, truly such a good dog. But despite all these traits, no one wanted to adopt Sundrop at the high-kill shelter, so she was placed on the euthanasia list. When we saw her, we fell in love and knew that someone out there would also fall in love with her. If you're ready to be swooned and play games of fetch with Sundrop, apply to be her forever family below! Ideally, a quiet home would be best for her and she’s low to medium energy. Very affectionate once she warms up to you! Fearful of strangers but is getting much better.
