Meet Prancer, a 6-week-old Retriever puppy with a shiny black coat accented by beautiful white and silver markings, currently weighing about 10 pounds. He earned his festive name because he can’t help but dance around with excitement whenever he sees you, greeting everyone with pure joy. Prancer has a wonderful puppy personality—adventurous, affectionate, snuggly, playful, confident, gentle, and endlessly curious about the world around him. Prancer is one of seven puppies from a rescued mom, and this sweet litter will be ready to head to their forever homes right before Christmas. Prior to pickup, he will receive his first set of vaccinations, be dewormed, and microchipped. Prancer is located in San Bernardino County, California. The adoption fee is $400. #A5741091 Kenai is an 11-month-old, 61 lb spayed female Flat-Coated Retriever mix with a sleek black coat and a gentle, soulful presence. Surrendered by her owner, Kenai is still adjusting to the shelter environment and can be a little nervous at first. With patience and kindness, she begins to relax and show her sweet, trusting nature. She’s a soft-hearted young dog who just needs someone willing to go slow and let her build confidence at her own pace. Kenai walks nicely on leash, is very gentle, and already knows “sit.” She’s smart and eager to learn, making her a great candidate for continued training. She does very well in playgroup with other dogs and enjoys calm, positive social interactions. Prancer COH is an 8 month old neutered male Flat Coated Retriever Mix who came to us as a stray from the City of Hawthorne. This handsome boy enjoys going for walks and exploring the world around him, making him a great companion for an active family. Prancer is friendly and does well with kids, and he’s ready to find a loving home where he can continue to grow, learn, and be someone’s best friend. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. She had a very rough start in life and was part of a hoarding case where A LOT of dogs were living in a one bedroom apartment. Thelma has since adapted to being in a foster home and part of a normal household. Thelma would love a home with another dog so she can have a companion. She doesnââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#132¢t ask for much and is a very quiet dog. She is a lab mix on the smaller side and gets along with all other animals. Please fill out an application to adopt Thelma! Hank IS AVAILABLE (updated 12-31-2025). To meet any of our dogs, complete our online adoption application on our website: http://www.coastalgsr.org/dogs/hank Hank is less than a year old, and is a mixed breed puppy. Weââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#132¢re not sure what his mix is, but possibly german shepherd, black lab, and husky (due to his cute tail which gets curlier and curlier whenever heââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#132¢s happy or excited). He was pulled from a high-kill animal shelter with just 3 hours to spare. Hank likes to toss his rope toy in the air and catch it, and he loves a good squeaky ball. Hank loves people and is affectionate, intelligent, and very high energy. He has been trained for basic commands, is potty trained, and has been trained to be comfortable around vacuum cleaners. Hankââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#132¢s shelter paperwork described him as good with other dogs, but he has been known to become reactive when heââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#132¢s walking on a leash and sees another dog. We think this is because of built up frustration due to being quarantined from other dogs for a couple of weeks after leaving the shelter (a standard precautionââ&#194&#130¬â&#194&#128&#194&#157Hank has a clean bill of health from the vet, and his 2-week quarantine is now up). He will be receiving some extra training to reintegrate him with other dogs as we feel he could greatly benefit from some doggy playtime. Hank can be overly enthusiastic with his affections, so he is not recommended for homes with small children. Hank would do best with an active family that is able to walk him daily and possibly take him for hikes, runs, etc. This handsome boy likes to move. Hank is currently looking for a foster family or a forever family. His re-homing fee is $80. His vaccinations are up to date, and he has been neutered. A 5-year-old female black lab-mix. Sophie is a sweet, quiet, and well-mannered black lab mix looking for a stable, long-term home. She is affectionate without being demanding, enjoys relaxing near her person, and loves to cuddle. Sophie is not a loud dog and does well in calm environments. Around other dogs, she tends to be more independent. She may stay close to her person or calmly explore on her own rather than engage in high-energy play. Sophie has lived in an 1-bedroom apartment with 1 adult. Her experience with children is unknown. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and medical records are available. Sophie does have separation anxiety, so she would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day, such as a work-from-home household, retired individual, or someone with a flexible schedule. Due to a recent relocation and a work schedule that requires extended on-site hours I am unable to take care of her. Daycare and boarding has become expensive for me.
