Story
. He’s about 3 years old, roughly 45 lbs, crate trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and in structured social settings he does really well. He is not chaotic. He is not unpredictable. He is thoughtful. He watches. He processes. But -- . He is sensitive. He reads energy. He needs leadership. And most importantly, he needs the right canine presence in the home. When we say Kory needs a confident dog, we mean . A dog who moves through the world steady and neutral. A dog who is not reactive, not hesitant, not unsure. A dog who can calmly correct and then move on. That kind of presence changes Kory immediately. If you have a dog who struggles with new people, new dogs, new environments, or needs constant reassurance, that is not what Kory needs. We appreciate the love and the “they can grow together” sentiment, but this is not the time for that. He needs stability, not another project. He also needs: • • • , • ’ We are taking this placement seriously. We moved too optimistically before. That’s on us. We will not repeat that. Please understand that reviewing applications for Kory may take longer than our typical timeline. We are going to move slowly and intentionally. . If you truly believe your home fits what Kory needs, we want to hear from you. He is a really good dog. He has shown us that again and again. He just needs the kind of environment that understands him and is willing to lead him with confidence instead of trying to fix him.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. ##2559576##
