Story
. He’s about 3 years old, roughly 45 lbs, crate trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and in structured social settings he does really well. He is not chaotic. He is not unpredictable. He is thoughtful. He watches. He processes. But -- . He is sensitive. He reads energy. He needs leadership. And most importantly, he needs the right canine presence in the home. When we say Kory needs a confident dog, we mean . A dog who moves through the world steady and neutral. A dog who is not reactive, not hesitant, not unsure. A dog who can calmly correct and then move on. That kind of presence changes Kory immediately. If you have a dog who struggles with new people, new dogs, new environments, or needs constant reassurance, that is not what Kory needs. We appreciate the love and the “they can grow together” sentiment, but this is not the time for that. He needs stability, not another project. He also needs: • • • , • ’ We are taking this placement seriously. We moved too optimistically before. That’s on us. We will not repeat that. Please understand that reviewing applications for Kory may take longer than our typical timeline. We are going to move slowly and intentionally. . If you truly believe your home fits what Kory needs, we want to hear from you. He is a really good dog. He has shown us that again and again. He just needs the kind of environment that understands him and is willing to lead him with confidence instead of trying to fix him.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. ##2559576##

APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT BREED & VIDEO DOG: GREEN JEANS GENDER: MALE DOB: 01-15-24 WEIGHT: 25 lbs BREED: Flat Coat Retriever (Comfort Dog) LOCATION: Preston CT DONATION $550.00 VIDEO: Pups Green, Red & Pink Outside Exploring on how to navigate a ramp and stairs - this was built just for rescue dogs to learn how to use stairs and a ramp Green Jeans weighed 42.2 lbs. on June 13, 2024, he is a male flat coat retriever and was the first born. He is very loving and a laid-back big boy; each day before he is put down for a nap, he is the first to snuggle right up to his human and put his right paw on her leg. He is very smart, loving and social with people and dogs. He loves the pool but just but cautious about what exactly water is all about, personal attention and companionship from his littermates and humans. His foster mom tells us that he can be independent and can take the role of a very gentle alpha when the other two pups need him to slow their play time down. At night, foster mom always takes a moment to talk to him and he rolls over for a belly run. He loves his siblings and will snuggle with his brother Red between the pen sections, comes when he is called, and he knows how to sit for food. Foster mom does think he definitely loves his people. He is trained to use the litter box and is working on his leash training. Green Jeans has a lot to offer a loving family. This guy is very gentle and enjoys his time with his humans. He is very loving, attentive, and follows foster mom all over! He is a puppy and has lots of energy, but can quickly settle down and become a very large and loving lap dog! Green Jeans is best described as a happy go lucky guy, eager to run, play and be with his siblings. He is a polite, learns quickly and a real loving little boy. If you’re looking for an easy-going family dog, then he is right for you. Nothing would be better than curling up with him at the end of the day. Flat Coat Retrievers are comfort dogs. Story
Meet Marinara! If you aren't immediately charmed by the one-ear-up-one-ear-down look...who hurt you?Marinara is a one year old lab mix that weighs just under 40lbs so he's a good middle-sized dog. Not big enough to take you for a ride if he gets the zoomies (and he permanently has the zoomies) but not small enough to, like, lose under the couch or something. When we say that Marinara always has the zoomies, that is not an exaggeration. He is the happiest dog in the entire world. Everything is exciting all the time always, his brain is a bouncy ball just ping-ponging off the insides of his skull, and when you stare into his eyes, you can hear carnival music. If your brain has difficulties producing its own serotonin, Marinara can help.Marinara would be exceedingly easy to kidnap because he has no concept of "stranger danger". He wouldn't even need to be lured with candy; prolonged eye contact would work just as well. If you're looking for a guard dog, keep looking, because Marinara loves everyone. Matter of fact, you're already best friends with him...you just don't know it yet. He does well with other dogs (obviously) but make sure the energy level is a match because his boundaries aren't great...or existent at all, really. He is afraid of cats because of course he is but would be fine with dog-friendly cats that won't bully him. Kids 10+ would be best, especially if they'll play with him (he loves to play keep away with balls and plushies). To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Story
Meet your local cryptid, Alfredo! Why is he a cryptid? Because, like Bigfoot and Mothman, it's impossible to get a photo of him that is 100% clear and in focus. There is always some sort of motion blur, like he's not meant to be perceived by mere technology or the human eye.Alfredo is a two year old lab mix weighing about 35lbs so definitely smaller than he looks. He is an espresso bean come to life. He is a ball of energy, always bouncing or slapping or zooming, and he is going to be a TON of fun for the right family. We've got a lot of super friendly, in your face extroverts right now (an introvert's NIGHTMARE) and Alfredo is no different. He's curious about everything and if you give him the slightest bit of attention, well, now he's stuck to you like velcro, good job. He could use some help working on his leash manners because he kind of bounces in every direction before zooming in the opposite direction but he's a good sport about it and just needs some consistency. Alfredo does well with other dogs though, again, he is an introvert's NIGHTMARE. So if you have a dog at home that wants to be left alone to do their own thing, they'll probably see Alfredo as penance for something they did wrong in a past life. He has zero idea what an angry cat is so dog-friendly cats only, please, because he's the type to let himself get bullied by something a fifth of his size. Kids 10+ as long as they're cool with a dog parkouring off of them occasionally. If you're not into the whole "stopping to say hello to every single person I walk by because my dog won't let me rest until he makes friends with everything that has a pulse" thing, then Alfredo probably isn't for you.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.
