As a Rescue do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Meet Athena! Athena is a sweet fluffy girl who is around 16 weeks old Arena has an old injury on her back leg that has been x rayed at the vet, it’s healing and there’s nothing to be done at this point, she is managing well on it and doesn’t appear to be in any pain or discomfort.

If you have the privilege of earning his trust, Kory will walk up to you, look you dead in the eyes to ensure he has your absolute undivided attention, execute a flawless, silent 180-degree spin, and aggressively back his rear end into you. This is the Kory Reverse Parking Maneuver, and it means you are legally obligated to provide butt scratches until further notice. At 55 pounds, Kory is a magnificent, sweet, and wonderfully complex boy who is currently looking for his forever co-pilot. ( ’ ) • : Kory does not just lie down on a couch. He curates it. Watching Kory prepare for a nap is a live event where blankets are shifted, throw pillows are violently reorganized, and a perfect nest is constructed before he finally collapses into a pile of limbs. • - : Kory is highly food-motivated. He loves stinky cow hooves, buffalo horns, puzzle toys, and snuffle mats. He will eat almost anything. Except raspberries. He rejects them with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Do not offer him the forbidden fruit. ( “,” ) Kory is a sensitive, introverted soul who wears his heart on his sleeve. Because the world can sometimes feel a little loud and fast for him, he has a few very specific requirements for his future kingdom: • : Kory is a dog’s dog. He absolutely thrives in the presence of other pups and relies heavily on a confident dog brother or sister to show him that the world isn’t a scary place. He is a submissive helper who just wants a furry mentor to spoon and play with. • “ ” ( ): When Kory gets scared or feels cornered by fast movements, his defense mechanism is to bark loudly. If you don’t know him, it looks intimidating. If you do know him, you know it’s pure theatrical stage fright. He has zero actual aggression in his body; he’s just a big guy who wishes he could shrink into a pocket-sized pup when he’s nervous. • : Getting the leash on is a work in progress. If you move too fast, he will politely back away. But once that leash is clicked? He is an absolute dream. He boasts a loose leash walk and a gorgeous, firm heel that would put show dogs to shame. ’ Kory is looking for a quiet, low-traffic house (with a small yard) where he can truly decompress. Because he is sensitive to quick movements and chaos, he is strictly looking for an adults-only home with no cats and no small kids (though respectful older kids around 10+ who understand personal space are totally fine!). He thrives with structure, consistency, and patient leadership rather than pressure. The right match matters more than speed for Kory. He is a really good dog who has shown us that time and time again. He doesn't need someone to fix him—he needs someone who understands him, believes in him, and is willing to give him the environment he needs to thrive. Look, we get it. Roxy is A LOT of dog. She's a big lady with a big personality. It can be a daunting concept.But there are way more daunting things in life with way less payout...like doing your taxes or dinner with your in-laws.In the wise words of Mika, "a whole lot of woman needs a whole lot moooooore!"This big momma is a lab mix who is just over three and a half years old and, yes, she weighs about 86lbs. Which really isn't even THAT bad. It's fine. You'll be fine. Everything is fine.In all seriousness, Roxy is 100% a good girl. She doesn't quite know her own size and thinks she's a little floofy lapdog sometimes and can drag you halfway to Canada if you don't rein in her excitement before it gets the best of her, but she just REALLY LOVES WALKS, okay?! Being outside is EXCITING! There's so many sights and smells and colors! Honestly, just get on board with her enthusiasm. It's a whole lot easier to join her than to try and dampen down her joy. LET HER LIGHT SHINE. GOSH.Roxy is a girl who loves to give kisses and nose boops so make sure you're okay with being covered in slobber and nose slime 99% of the time. She does well with other dogs but can be a bit much for dogs who are lower energy or on the shyer side. She just wants to be friends SO BAD that she forgets that not everyone is okay being charged by 86lbs of wagging tail and slobber and butt wiggles. She means no harm by it but, again, it's that never ending enthusiasm for...literally everything. She LOVES being around people and is content to spend most of her time by your side. We would prefer a home without cats because, while she hasn't shown any red flags towards them, she doesn't know her own size or strength. Similarly, we would prefer older kids (12+) for the same reason. Give this big lady a chance! You won't be disappointed. She's going to be the perfect companion for the right family. Meet Kodak!Kodak is the president of Goofy Ears R Us and he takes his role very, very seriously. Which is good because he takes absolutely nothing else in life seriously.A young lab mix at about seven months old, Kodak is FULL of life and energy. He WILL need training, of course, as he's (literally) a puppy with little to no manners. We're teaching him what we can at the shelter but he's going to need consistency so his training WILL need to be continued in his forever home. He's about 46lbs right now and will probably be around 55-60lbs when full grown.Kodak LOVES other dogs. Like, he is obsessed with them. His enthusiasm knows no bounds so he can be a little much for older dogs that have zero patience for shenanigans or for more introverted dogs that want NO part of his nonsense. But a dog that will match his energy? It will be comedy hour 24/7. We would prefer not placing him with cats because he does not understand angry cat language and he WILL instigate like a teenage boy.He also loves people. He's an extrovert to the extreme. He loves getting attention, loves being involved in whatever it is you're doing, and loves playing with toys.
