As everyone knows, when life sends lemons, make Lemonade. In a dog's life we might not know what Lemons are, but we know how to make Lemonade and make you smile. My name is Simon and this is my story. I was found as a stray in a town who has a kill shelter. The shelter is full most of the time. The man who found me knows this. So instead of taking me to the shelter, he took me home. This nice man kept me safe, clean, and well fed. I in turn kept him good company, and entertained. One day, this man reached out to a friend who knows the rescue who is helping me find the perfect home. My foster family has 1 dog, cats unknown and grandchildren who come over to visit. Meet Petunia. She is a 1 year old, female, Golden Retriever mixed breed (we think). She was found as a stray and she can't wait for a forever home. Petunia is what we lovingly call a "professional leaner". If you stop to say hello, she’ll press her entire body right up against you and she is perfectly content just being close. Personal space? Not really her thing and honestly, we’re completely okay with that. She appears to do well with other dogs and enjoys making new friends, both canine and human. Petunia thrives on connection and would love a home where she can be part of everyday life rather than watching it from the sidelines. Although Petunia has a wonderful personality, her time spent as a stray means she would feel most comfortable and secure in a home without children under 12. She weighs 56 lbs currently and could stand to put on a little weight. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. ADOPTION INFORMATION HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: - Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. - Fill out an online application to adopt by clicking here: https://tinyurl.com/4yy3nz2d - We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. - We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.

Willis is an extremely cute and extremely friendly golden retriever who is looking for his retirement home. He is 12 years old and weighs 82 pounds. Willis absolutely loves everyone he meets and he has been wonderful with every dog in our care. He is quiet and sweet and will make somebody very happy. Willis recently saw our vet and his blood work looks incredible for his age. He does have a large, fatty tumor on his side but it has been there for over a year and does not seem to bother him so we are not pursuing surgery at this time. He was incredible at both the vet and the groomer and is very good in the car. Willis absolutely loves to be outside and he loves rolling in the snow. He would benefit from regular walks. Willis is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full bloodwork. To apply to adopt Willis, please fill out an application at vintagepetrescue.org/adopt
