Story
Adoption donation $799      Age: 4 months of 5/24/2024        weight 13 lbs        John Boy is a sweet, adorable puppy who is all wiggles and kisses, he is a darling quiet boy, very mellow for his ages. John Boy’s mother is a rat terrier of about 27 pounds and we believe dad is a small golden receiver/white lab.      John Boy’s mom showed up as a stray to a home in rural Mississippi house and gave birth a couple of days later. Wags took in the family of eight, taking care of them, giving the puppies their shots, and is now helping them find loving homes.       John Boy spent his early months with his mom and siblings, romping and playing and snuggling into a big puppy pile to nap. John boy loves to play with the other dogs in the home and ignores  the cat. He rides well in the car and is loving and a cuddle bug.  He is housebroken as long as he goes out regularly but may need additional guidance when he adjusts to a new home.     John Boy arrived in the northeast on Saturday, April 20 and settled in quickly in his new foster home, he will be neutered in the northeast when he is older, his neuter is included in his adoption fee at one of the clinics Wags uses or the rescue will reimburse adopters what we pay if you choose to use your own vet.   Wags is a struggling 501 C3 in rural Mississippi where one woman cares for 150 stray and abandoned dogs, many of whom are older or have medical issue and  require expensive vet care. Adoption donations are the only way we can afford to care for the older and sick dogs at the rescue.   For more information about adopting John Boy  please email his foster mom at mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com.April 25, 2024, 10:59 pm

This is Spud! Spud is a young, handsome, potato mix breed! Our boy Spud is an absolute ball of energy. Spuds favorite things to do are go for long walks and zoom around the play yard. He enjoys playing tug and fetch and would be a great addition to your family! Spud can get jumpy at times and could use some work on his basic commands. It is best he goes home as the only pet and with adults only! If you are interested in meeting this boy, apply for him on our website!

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: 1 Year (as of 3/1/2024) Weight: 66.4 lbs (as of 4/23/2024) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Dawn, a gentle sweatheart with a heart of gold. This gorgeous girl was found dumped in a ditch at the edge of some woods with her 12 puppies that didn’t even have their eyes open, but despite this harsh treatment, she hasn't lost her sweet and affectionate nature and has plenty of love and loyalty to give. At around a year old, Dawn isn’t much more than a puppy herself so has plenty of energy to keep up with an active family but also loves to snuggle with her people. Dawn is a big softie who adores cuddles and belly rubs. She is pretty calm but is learning not to jump up. She also walks fairly well on a leash, with only a little pulling, but she is working on that. Dawn is the perfect partner for outdoor adventures or lazy strolls in the park. Dawn is also a social butterfly who gets along famously with all the dogs she has met. While Dawn hasn't been around cats yet, her easygoing nature suggests she could adapt with proper introductions. She hasn't had any accidents in the house, showing she's a quick learner and eager to please. Dawn's gentle demeanor makes her a great fit for families with school age children, as she has been patient and loving and eager for pets from them during her walks in the neighborhood. Although Dawn is a big girl, she can be a bit shy in new situations. With patience and positive reinforcement, she's sure to blossom into an even more confident companion. Dawn is the perfect girl for the family looking for a loyal and affectionate addition to their family!
