Story
Meet Tooty — the sweetest little soul who never wanted to be a hunting dog. At just 3 years old, Tooty made it clear her dream job was much simpler: professional house dog and full-time best friend. This calm, gentle girl was surrendered because she’d much rather curl up beside her humans than chase through the woods. Tooty can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes and her loving personality shines through. Once she warms up, she wants nothing more than to be wherever you are — following you from room to room, lounging nearby, and soaking up affection. Tooty is incredibly sweet, easygoing, and human-focused. She has a soft spirit and a loving heart that make her the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, loyal best friend. She’s ready to trade hunting life for couch cuddles, quiet evenings, and a family who will love her exactly as she is.

This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Hip Hop — or as we lovingly referred to at home as Chestnut & Brownie Boy!   Hip Hop is a sweet, playful teenager with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s settled beautifully into his routine in his foster home and is fully potty trained and crate trained — though he’s also doing great with free roam of the house at bed times and when left alone with his foster sibling.    This beautiful boy loves squeaky toys (and takes his squeaker-hunting duties very seriously). He is a big fan of chew toys, treats, and antlers. Give him a good chew while you’re working or cooking dinner, and he’ll happily keep himself busy.   Hip Hop enjoys his walks and outdoor adventures — he’s strong, curious, and full of enthusiasm! He’s still working on his leash manners and pulling, but he’s learning. In the backyard, he’s a total goofball & full of energy. He loves to run, romp, and play tug-of-war with his foster sibling. The two of them can wrestle and chase each other for hours. He would do well in a home with another puppy play mate   Hip Hop He can be a little shy around new people at first, but once he warms up, his silly, affectionate side shines through.   Like any teen, Hip Hop is full of energy and personality and still learning a few polite habits. He can get a bit excited when playing, but he’s eager to please and very trainable as he is very food and treat motivated.   After a busy day, Hip Hop loves nothing more than curling up on the couch for snuggles and TV time — especially if there are animals or Disney movies on! When bedtime rolls around, he likes to be tucked into his blanket. He is also the cutest snorer.    Overall, he is a 10/10 Good boy. ##2261949##

Story
(DOB 02/13/2024) Clementine is your future sunshine in dog form.  This sweet, young hound may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her a little time and you’ll see her true personality bloom. Then, Clementine’s gentle, affectionate nature shines through in the best way. She forms strong bonds with her people and absolutely adores snuggling up close—whether it’s on the couch, at your feet, or wherever you are, really! Clementine is the perfect mix of playful energy and cozy companion. She loves staying busy, especially when it involves playtime with other dogs or engaging toys (bonus points if treats are involved; she’s very food motivated!). Puzzle toys and treat-dispensing games are her favorites, and she’ll happily entertain herself while showing off her smarts. When the fun winds down, she’s more than ready to curl up for a long, peaceful nap. She does wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful pup sibling to help build her confidence and show her the ropes. That said, Clementine could also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love and attention. She's also good natured with kids but not sure about cats, yet. A fenced-in yard would be a big plus for this curious girl, giving her a safe space to explore, stretch her legs, and continue growing more confident each day. Clementine enjoys her walks and is already showing off nice leash manners. She’s currently working on learning her basic commands and is eager to please especially when treats are involved! With a little consistency and positive reinforcement, she’s sure to pick things up quickly. Clementine would do best in a patient, loving home that can give her a little time to adjust and continue building her confidence. With the right family, she will blossom into a loyal, loving companion who brings both fun and snuggles into everyday life. Adopt this girl and it will certainly be a win-win! As part of Clementine’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Clementine, you can complete an application online for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2696603##

Story
When I first picked up Dreamy, she was in terrible shape, emaciated with her hair thin and brittle. Even so, all she wanted was attention. With proper nutrition and a lot of love, she is now a happy, healthy, beautiful girl. She loves everyone she meets and wants nothing but to be close to you and rubbed. She loves her crate and will go in it on her own to sleep when she is tired. She is totally house trained and does her business outside. She has lots of energy and would love an active person to match her energy level. She would make someone a great jogging companion. She loves to go on walks but is a strong girl and will pull in the beginning, however, she settles down the longer she walks. She loves to play with the other large dog in my home and they get along great. She is so energetic I must watch to keep her from tiring him out and overwhelming him. Dreamy will make someone a great and loving pet. Please consider giving her a loving home.

Story
Meet Ruse — born on April Fool’s Day, so deception is basically in her DNA. This tiny queen of chaos has mastered the art of pretending she’s asleep while plotting her next sock theft. She can hear a cheese wrapper from three rooms away, gives Oscar-worthy performances of starvation five minutes after dinner, and somehow always looks innocent. Equal parts cuddlebug and criminal mastermind, Ruse is living proof that the prank was never just one day.
