Story
AIDEN's owner brought him home as a puppy and kept him on a chain his whole life. We were able to bring him into our group a few months ago. Since then he has blossomed! He cannot believe he can run and play to his heart's content. He was a little afraid of toys at first, but now he LOVES to play fetch. He is kennel trained and is very happy in his big, 54" kennel with his own window to look out of. We are introducing him to other dogs now and he is learning how to play and be a dog. Although Aiden's major breed is a Plott Hound (a large dog), Aiden is 45 pounds and full grown. He has several other hound breeds in him as well. For more information on Aiden, please email can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
Yippee and Yates are the only two still waiting for a forever home of the "8 is enough" series. They just passed their first birthday, and we really do not know at all why two such gorgeous and well-behaved hounds are still at the Furry Friendzy rescue. The holidays are upon us. How about giving them the gift of a loving family and home. They will definitely reciprocate in kind. Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive. If you're interested in adopting, let's begin the Adoption process by clicking the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FURF/Dog

Story
What kind of dog is Guidry? We see American Foxhound, Treeing Walker Coonhound, Beagle. Maybe a combination thereof? Whatever it is, the result is a wonderful dog. Smaller than a Walker, taller than a Beagle and sturdy in built. His personality is sweet, laid back and accommodating with all the new friends he met at rescue. We see Guidry as a great companion to an active person or family, who love to be outside and explore nature. Of course a nice sofa will be appreciated too. How about it? Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Otis is a 4 year old pur bred Basset Hound. Until recently, he was raised by a super loving family that had to make the heart-breaking decision to rehome him. They realized between their schedules and two young childen, under the age of two, they physically couldn't give the attention and time that Otis deserved. That said, he's wonderful with humans, children, and other dogs. Otis has a very chill and loving temperment, enjoys walks and is great on a leash. He listens and obeys. He needs (and gives) a lot of love and displays some separation anxiety when the humans leave the house. He weighs 75 pounds but we feel it is mainly bone mass, although, he is a big boy. Otis is neutered and completely vetted, with up to date preventives. Housebroken with no accidents to date and will even wake you up if he needs to go potty. Ask us how we know. Otis is the quintessential Basset Hound and would make an excellent family member for anyone lucky enough to adopt him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2026, 6:10 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. A update bio from Payton former mom- Payton's Bio: Payton is a 15-year-old Basset Hound with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love. She has histoplasmosis in her colon, which is currently well-managed with a specialized home-cooked diet and just two pills a day. She has recently started to wobble a bit, but with medication management and her resilient spirit, she still gets around and continues to enjoy her daily routines. Despite her condition, Payton is incredibly resilient—she’s happy, affectionate, and always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. She loves gentle attention, cozy spaces, and simply being near her people. Payton is looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and comfortable in her golden years. BRAT has been trying so hard to get Payton well after a diagnosis of histoplasmosis, a fungal infection of her colon. The specialist thinks she got this disease by eating contaminated soil as food when she was running the streets as a stray. BRAT spent close to $4,000 trying to figure out what was wrong. Then from Sept 1st to Nov 30, we've spent another $8,150 on the specialist who diagnosed her correctly.   So we desperately need your help in continuing her treatment through February.   She is costing us around $450 per week or $1800 per month. It was more in Sept and Oct due to testing. But starting in Nov it has been around $1800 per month. Some weeks may be more due to meds.  How can you help? There are 3 ways to donate: 1. PayPal or credit card to info@bratx.org. Put Payton in the Note section.   2. Call the vet directly. Tell them it's for Payton with BRAT. The name of the hospital is Veterinary Specialists of North Texas. Their number is 972-437-9499.   3. Mail a check to: BRAT PO Box 116225 Carrollton TX 75011  Put Payton in the memo section.   Thank you so much for helping Payton! We will give you updated reports as we continue her treatments. She has good days, then days where she's too tired to walk so she gets to ride in her buggy like a queen in her carriage!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2026, 6:10 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Please met Jax, a sweet, loveable 10 1/2 year old senior who recently came to BRAT when his owner relocated to another town and didn’t think it was fair for Jax to spend so much time alone. Jax has enjoyed being with the other dogs in his foster home, loves meeting new people, rides well in the car, and is crate and house trained. He is a smart little guy who learned to use the doggie door after being shown one time! Snuggling on the couch with his head in your lap is his favorite pastime time. This love bug will be ready for adoption once he has a fatty tumor removed from his back in a few days.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2026, 6:10 pm
