Beau lost his family when his family was going through a divorce. When a foster was found, the foster went out to look for Beau. That is when they discovered he was living in a car with his Mom. She didn't want to give up Beau, but she knew her boy didn't deserve that lifestyle. Through tons of tears, hugs, and kisses, Beau's Mama  surrendered him over to BRAT where she knew he would be safe. Even through all the changes Beau has gone through, he is still so loving, playful, and goofy. Neglected, skinny, toes nails embedded into his pads, forgotten. He was tossed aside like a piece of garbage. Who knows what his home life was like but the way he was discovered seems like he wasn't ever taken care of.Fast forward to today, you would have never guessed that this goofy, spunky, happy, soulful dog had ever been on the streets of El Paso. He was adopted by a loving family in 2022, but sadly they are moving overseas, and Reggie needs to find a new home. Reggie's hobbies are napping, snuggling, playing with toys, and eating. He does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks. Thank goodness, because he weighs over 90lbs, and needs to lose some weight. A healthy diet and regular exercise are necessary for Reggie.Reggie is house trained and crate trained. He loves his humans dearly, but very picky about his canine friends. He can be very playful with some dogs, but reactive to others, especially female dogs. Reggie needs a stable, permanent home where he can feel secure and loved. He enjoys spending time outdoors in good weather, so a home with a doggy door and fenced-in yard is ideal. When his foster home has visitors, Merlin will run off to hide. Merlin is kennel trained. He will do best in a home with other dogs around. Charlie is an unusual, unique but gorgeous dog! He appears to be a mix of a Bassett Hound (with his short legs) and Golden Retreiver. What a great combo! He is about 7 months old and currently weighs about 35lbs but will likely grow to about 40-45lbs. He is so incredibly sweet and really loves the women! We have to say, he seems to be partial to the ladies:) However, he does do well with men and kids and loves to play with dogs of all sizes. He will steal your heart! He was rescued from a rural shelter when they became overcrowded, saving him from being killed.

The family member who had taken in Sadie after her mom had passed realized Sadie needed some serious medical attention. Not everyone can afford to do this for their beloved pets and sadly sometimes even themselves. At least the family member did the right thing and contacted NTBHR instead of dumping Sadie lady at the local shelter. NTBHR stepped in and got Sadie the medical care and attention she so desperately needed. Having now only three teeth remaining you’d think her life would take a turn of different special needs. Not this Sadie Lady! She is an active , sneaky, funny , well mannered snuggle buddy lady pup. Foster Mom simply soaks her dry kibble with a little water, sort of like soggy cereal left in a bowl and she gobbles it all down and fast. If Foster Mom doesn’t pay attention Sadie will run over and eat her younger stepbrother food bowl. Sadie may be a senior who naps a lot and only has three teeth remaining but nobody told her that she is considered special needs. She loves her waddle walks and even will walk into the shower for bath time. Now don’t try to trim her nails unless you want to see this old gal truly show you how strong she is and what she can do with three teeth! When she is not busy chasing smells she loves to cuddle and be underfoot with her human. Does well with other dogs, has never met a stranger, and loves mealtime.  She is good with basic commands, housetrained, and sleeps through the night.  She has been thoroughly vetted and all vaccines updated and even had a dental!
