Story
Meet Tucker, a 6-year-old hound mix with a gentle soul and so much love to give. Tucker can be a little shy when you first meet him, but with a bit of patience and kindness, he blossoms into the sweetest, goofiest companion. Once he feels safe, his playful personality truly shines. He loves spending time with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend for playdates or companionship. Tucker is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can come out of his shell at his own pace—and in return, he’ll give you a lifetime of quiet loyalty and love.

Story
We adopted Goji as a puppy from the Norfolk SPCA nine years ago. He was in a litter of seven "berry named" brothers and sisters. He is a wonderfully loyal companion who has traveled to and from Japan and loves going for walks. Unfortunately, we are looking to rehome him because he doesn't get along with our children (5 years and 9 months old).Goji is:• An American Foxhound mix• Housetrained (only one accident as a puppy)• Fine with some dogs, but dislikes poodles and golden retrievers• A loyal companion who loves walksGoji has never lived with another dog and only lived with a cat for a short time as a puppy. He does have some food aggression, which we've found typical for the breed. We would not recommend him for a home with young children. He is due for rabies and flea medication in the next few months.💰 Rehoming fee: $0Includes: Travel kennel, home fold-up kennel, food, treats, and poo bags.

Story
Tracker is one of our long-time residents here at NNPP. He is definitely a favorite amongst staff and volunteers alike, but we would love for him to find a forever home where he can stretch out on the couch and live his best life! Tracker was originally found as an injured stray and it is likely he was hit by a car at some point. He has a bit of a crooked jaw that healed a little funny but makes him perfectly endearing, and matches his goofy personality well. Tracker is calm both in his kennel and outside of it, though he does get some pep in his step on walks and when given squeaky toys. He walks perfectly well on a leash and is never destructive of his toys; he likes to sleep with them while curled up in a ball on his blanket every night. In addition to loving his "stuffies", Tracker also enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. He has a docile energy that all the dogs love. He's also gone to a few farmer's markets and has had a great time socializing with humans of all ages there. If you are looking for a devoted companion for you and your family, Tracker is your guy. He would love to meet you and we promise you'll fall in love!

Story
Our sweet Gomer was picked up by a local animal control the day before Christmas Eve 2024.  He was very thin but happy to see everyone.  Every time someone walked by his kennel he ran to the front hoping that someone was coming for him.  He had intestinal parasites, wasn’t neutered, had several masses, had terrible teeth, and was heart worm positive.  Most of his issues have been treated.  He has finished his heart worm treatment and will have his dental in February 2026.  At first he didn’t respond to us when we took him out after pulling him from the shelter.  It didn’t take him long to realize that living inside with folks who loved him was a dream come true.  He likes to lay around with his buddy Gus and wander and sniff in the yard.  We’ve discovered that he is an escape artist if he sees something that interests him.  He can open latches on gates and climb a chain link fence.  He will need a 6 ft privacy fence and a family who will be very diligent about watching over him.  He is a fireplace dog who loves to chill with his other foster sibs and is learning basic cues.   We don’t know how he is with cats.   He would love a home with people who will love him for the rest of his life, taking him on sniffy walks and include him in family adventures.  If you are that special family who would love this boy forever, please contact Rainbow Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.comMarch 10, 2026, 12:08 am

Story
I’m a good-natured fella with a heart of gold! I love getting attention from my humans, but I’m also perfectly happy keeping myself occupied sniffing around and exploring. I always have a smile on my face and plenty of love in my heart for everyone I meet. If you’re looking for a happy, loving companion, I just might be your guy!
