Sir Loin is still a puppy and learning his own strength, so he’d do best in a home with kids ages 7 and up. He’s truly a sweet, gentle boy—just a little enthusiastic at times—which makes him a perfect match for a loving family ready for laughs, cuddles, and plenty of tail wags. With his joyful spirit and affectionate nature, Sir Loin would make an incredible family dog and a loyal lifelong companion. He would thrive with another puppy sibling as well! Sir Loin has already shown how resilient he is. He was found at a park with femoral neck fractures, likely due to a congenital condition. The good news? He has successfully undergone bilateral FHO surgery and is doing great in recovery! He’s feeling good and moving forward with confidence, but because of his hips, stairs aren’t his thing, so a one-story home is a must for him to live his best life. Maggie was born 12/29/23. She is spayed. Her shot record shows she is current on all her vaccinations. She loves kids. She is an attention hog and that's why she gets aggressive towards our other dog. Our youngest son will be starting college soon. There will be no one home ALL day to give her the attention she needs. Our other dog (a Chihuahua mix) is like a 1,000 yrs old and is NOT interested in making friends with Maggie. Paco — The Pirate With A Heart of Gold “Yeah… I’ve got one eye. And honestly? It kind of works for me.” Hi, I’m Paco. Some people call me Paco the Pirate, which feels pretty accurate considering I look like I should be sailing around stealing snacks instead of living in a house. I’m around 22 pounds of sleepy, chill Frenchie energy and I’ve been in foster care for over a month. 3 weeks in CA at a temp foster and then to AZ for the last few weeks. but honestly? I settled in pretty quickly. I’m the kind of guy who likes soft couches, naps, and keeping life low stress. “I’m More Couch Potato Than Chaos” If you’re looking for a wild, nonstop-energy dog… respectfully, that’s not me. I sleep a lot, I relax a lot, and when left alone I mostly just hang out and snooze. I’m very much in my “retired uncle with a recliner” era. I enjoy being around my people, but I’m not constantly demanding attention every second of the day. I also love snacks and Hulu, so honestly? Keep both of those coming my way and I’ll absolutely be your bestie. “We’re Working On The Whole Potty Training Situation” I’m somewhat house trained and making progress every day. I’ve had some accidents, but we’re working on improvement and routine helps me a lot. I’m also not fully crate trained yet. I’ll definitely give a little speech about my feelings when I first go in the crate, but after a bit of complaining, I usually settle down just fine. I do like tho chat you know the Frenchie chatter.. that’s me! At night? The living room couch is my preferred sleeping arrangement. As it should be. “About My Eye…” One thing you’ll notice about me right away is my eye. I have glaucoma, which has caused me to have limited vision. In the long run, there’s a chance I may eventually need to have my other eye removed, but right now it is not medically affecting me and I’m not in pain. Because of that, we are not removing it at this time. I am also still adjusting to my vision changes. I’m getting used to only having one eye and not seeing very well out of the other one, so I really need time to transition and feel safe. Because of that, I do not like dogs getting directly in my face. I’m not a fighter at all, but I will absolutely stand up for myself if I feel uncomfortable or cornered. A slow transition into a new home is going to be incredibly important for my success. Please keep that in mind. Don’t just throw me into your pack like I’ve lived there my whole life. I need patience, structure, and time to settle in and learn that I’m safe. The important thing to know is that I navigate life really well. Dogs are incredibly adaptable, and honestly? I don’t let it slow me down much at all. I still enjoy life, I still enjoy people, and I still know exactly where snacks are located at all times. “My Rescue Story” I came from the San Diego Humane Society, and my rescue pulled me knowing I needed a soft place to land. Before coming to Arizona, I stayed with a temporary foster in San Diego for a few weeks while recovering from my eye removal surgery. And man… let me tell you… after surgery my eye swelled up to the size of a baseball. But my foster never gave up on me. She stayed on top of my medications, did ice packs with me, encouraged me every single day, and kept me going while I healed. She was pure motivation for me during recovery, and because of that, I kept pushing forward. “My Perfect Home” I’d love a home that understands I’m a lower-key kind of guy. A family that appreciates a chill companion, doesn’t expect perfection overnight, and is willing to continue helping me with routine, patience, and confidence-building would be ideal for me. Mostly though? I just want somewhere safe to land. A couch. A soft blanket. Somebody who loves me exactly the way I am. And maybe a few snacks too. The Little Frenchie Who Got His Spark Back Sometimes the Biggest Transformation Happens When You Finally Feel Good My name's Bob, and the folks around here figure I'm somewhere between five and six years old. If you'd met me the day I arrived at Freedom Frenchie Rescue, you probably would've guessed I had a few more birthdays under my collar than that. Truth is, I looked a whole lot older than I really was. My skin was on fire from allergies, every itch reminded me I wasn't comfortable, and after living like that long enough, you start carrying yourself like an old man who's accepted that's just the way life is going to be. I wasn't unfriendly, and I certainly wasn't unhappy by choice. I just didn't feel good enough to let anybody see who I really was. Funny how quickly life can change when somebody finally fixes the thing that's been weighing you down. Within twenty-four hours of starting treatment, my foster family started seeing little pieces of the real me. Every day after that, another piece showed up until one morning they realized that grumpy little fellow had disappeared, and in his place was the happy, affectionate French Bulldog that had been hiding beneath all that discomfort the whole time. A Comfortable Dog Is a Happy Dog These days I take something called Zenrellia for my allergies, and I'll tell you something I've learned along the way—it sure is a lot easier to enjoy life when you're not spending every waking minute trying to scratch your own skin off. My coat looks healthier, my skin feels better, and for the first time in a long while, I get to spend my days thinking about all the important things instead of wondering when the itching is finally going to stop. Now my days are filled with belly rubs, neighborhood walks, snacks that always seem to taste a little better than the last one, and simply enjoying the company of people who care about me. My foster family likes to say they didn't just find the right medication; they gave me a chance to enjoy being a dog again. I'd say they might be onto something because when you finally feel comfortable in your own skin, it's amazing how much brighter the world starts to look. People Are My Favorite Place to Be Now that I'm feeling like myself again, I've discovered I genuinely enjoy keeping good company. You'll usually find me somewhere close to my foster mom because she's become one of my favorite people. If she's walking through the house, I usually find a reason to head in the same direction. If she's sitting down, chances are I'll settle in nearby because I've learned that some of life's best moments don't require much more than sharing the same room with someone you love. I don't need to be the center of attention to feel happy. After spending so much time feeling miserable, I've learned to appreciate every scratch behind my ears, every gentle pat on my back, and every quiet moment spent with people who simply enjoy having me around. Those little moments have become some of my favorites because they remind me how different life can feel when someone chooses to love you exactly as you are. Friends Make Life Even Better One of the nicest surprises about foster life has been making a best friend. My foster brother and I have become quite the pair, and we spend most of our days doing what good friends ought to do—keeping each other company, relaxing together, and reminding one another that life doesn't always have to be exciting to be good. I also get along wonderfully with cats, which doesn't surprise me one bit because I've never really understood the point of making enemies when making friends is so much easier. Whether everybody is stretched out for an afternoon nap or wandering around the house together, I'm perfectly content simply being part of the family. There is something comforting about belonging, and after everything that's happened in my life, it's a feeling I don't take for granted. Food Is Always a Good Idea Now, there is one thing I take very seriously, and that's mealtime. Somehow I've developed an internal clock that's accurate enough to rival just about anybody's watch. I couldn't tell you what time it is during the rest of the day, but breakfast and dinner somehow arrive in my mind right on schedule every single time. I've learned to appreciate life's simple routines, and mealtime is certainly one of them. A full belly, a comfortable place to relax afterward, and people who remember that I'm patiently waiting nearby make for a pretty wonderful day. If someone happens to have a snack in their pocket, well, I certainly wouldn't consider that a bad decision either. Life Is Better When We're Going Somewhere Together One thing I've really come to appreciate is getting out and seeing the world. I enjoy my walks, happily hop into the car whenever there's somewhere to go, and I've become a pretty big fan of coffee runs, errands, or honestly just about anything that lets me tag along with my people. It isn't really about where we're headed because, if I'm being honest, I'm mostly interested in spending time with the people sitting beside me. There's something special about sitting in the passenger seat with the windows cracked just enough to let the fresh air roll in while the world quietly passes by. Those little adventures have become some of my favorite moments because they remind me that life isn't measured by how far you travel but by who you get to travel beside. Home Life Fits Me Perfectly I've settled into home life pretty nicely. I'm fully potty trained, I know exactly how to use a doggie door, and I've discovered there's a comfortable rhythm to living in a family that suits me just fine. Some days I enjoy getting outside and stretching my legs, while other days you'll find me happily enjoying a long nap while everyone else goes about their day. At this point in my life, I've found a balance between enjoying adventures and appreciating the quiet moments in between. There's something to be said for a comfortable bed, a peaceful afternoon, and knowing you're exactly where you're supposed to be. My Fresh Start Nobody really knows what my life looked like before rescue, and truthfully, I don't spend much time worrying about it anymore. The past may explain where I came from, but it doesn't get to decide where I'm going. Today I wake up comfortable, surrounded by people who genuinely care about me, friends to spend my days with, and a future that finally feels brighter than my past ever did. Looking back, it's remarkable how much changed simply because somebody cared enough to help. Sometimes second chances don't arrive with fireworks or grand moments. Sometimes they arrive through good veterinary care, a little patience, the right medication, and people who refuse to give up on a dog who deserves another chance. The Family I'm Hoping For My allergies will probably always be part of my story, but thanks to Zenrelia, they don't get to write the ending anymore. What I'm looking for now is a family that enjoys the simple things as much as I do. I'd love people who don't mind sharing coffee runs, neighborhood walks, lazy afternoons on the couch, and the everyday routines that make a house feel like home. Most of all, I hope for someone who will continue giving me the care that helps me feel like myself because feeling healthy has allowed every other part of my personality to shine. I've already learned that when your body finally feels good, your heart has room to enjoy life again. Somewhere out there is a family looking for a loyal little companion who's happiest simply being included in whatever the day brings.
