Introducing Stitch! This handsome boy came to AFRP after he was brought to a local animal hospital for help with a prolapsed rectum. Now, fully recovered he's seeking out his furever home! While he's a looker, Stitch is quite a special boy who requires very specific adopters! Stitch is quite a goofy pup, and with that comes a few quirks; he is dog reactive and although he is working through it with positive training he would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard at this time as well as with potential adopters who have experience with reactive pups. Stitch is also obsessed with being the center of attention and it shows! This means no other animals can be in the home, he wants to be the only pup in your heart! He's a bundle of fun and loves to play with his toys, especially any kind of ball. Stitch is looking for an adopter who has experience with brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced dogs) and understands their continued needs, and possible added medical care. These adorable pups can be a bit more costly! Stitch comes with pre-registration for one-on-one classes to help with his exposure to other dogs and general basic obedience. He will also do best in an adult-only household. Due to these requirements, Stitch may only be adopted to applicants living in Monterey County or surrounding areas (Santa Cruz, etc.). Looks like: French Bulldog Female, 7 years old, 21 pounds Lovebug lives up to her namesake! She is truly a lovebug ready to share her love and snuggles with her next person. This sweet girl loves her people, including children, and seeks out pets from everyone she can. Lovebug can be overstimulated by the presence of other dogs, and around food and toys. Lovebug adores her people so much that she seems to prefer not to share them. She would thrive as the center of attention in a single dog household where she would not need to share her precious toys but we think with the right doggie companion and a diligent adopter, she may be able to safely share her space with another pup. She LOVES chasing toys and balls (and a kitty if they run by) so will do best with an active family who will help her enjoy all the fun things in life! Lovebug has a strong pull on leash so she is searching for a strong leash handler for her beloved walks. This little lady has been to see our eye specialist who says that she will need to receive eye meds in her left eye to keep her comfortable for all of her days. Lovebug came to POMDR because her guardian could no longer care for her.

Robin came to AFRP after entering Hitchcock Road Animal Services as a stray pup with a myriad of medical needs. Lets just say she didn't experience the best life prior to arriving in our care, but she's living her best life now, just waiting for her new family! According to her fosters, Robin is a sweet and loving pup full of life and fun! She loves playing with toys, going on short walks, and spending time with her humans. Because she prefers to be the center of attention she would do best as the only pet in the household. Trust us, she has plently of love to go around! She is currently working on training, and can sit. She needs continued training with walking nicely on a leash. She is crate-trained. Robin is looking for an adopter who has experience with brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced dogs) and understands their continued needs. She is also seeking someone comfortable with her continued medical needs, such as daily heart medication and facial fold cleaning. Robin comes with pre-registration for one-on-one classes to help with his exposure to other dogs and general basic obedience. She will do best in an adult-only household, or with children 10 and older. Robin is currently in foster care. Looks like: Pug mix Male, 6 years old (estimated), 18 pounds Poor Buggs has had a rough time lately, but he has not let his recent past dampen his spirits. He's the happiest little guy and definitely on the path to a better life! He gets along well with other pups, but we don't know yet how he does around kitties or children. Unfortunately, Buggs has a long road to recovery ahead. He is currently at our vet clinic awaiting surgery to repair a fractured pelvis. We are still working on his medical plan, but we know he will need to be on strict crate rest for many more weeks, if not months. Once he is fairly stable, we'd love to see him land in a caring home to recover with his people by his side. This sweet little Pug was brought to San Jose Animal Care Center after being hit by a car. He was found to have a fractured pelvis and an injured left eye, which was removed at the shelter. He came to us when the shelter reached out to see if we could help.

Looks like: Pug Female, 7 years old (estimated), 15 pounds Brace yourself! There's no escape from falling head over heels in love with this goofy girl! Lucy seems to have had a rough life in the past, but we're happy to say she has nothing but pampering and adoration in her future! This sweet girl loves to smother you in sloppy Pug kisses! If you're extra special, you may even get a little wiggly body dance and a roll over for belly rubs. Lucy gets along famously with other dogs! She has yet to meet a dog she doesn't immediately become friends with! We don't know yet how she does around cats or children, but we can only imagine she'd enjoy soaking in extra pets from dog savvy little ones. This sweet little Pug lady joined Peace of Mind after her guardian was no longer able to care for her.
