Meet your New Best Friend at an Adoption Event near you! Choco is thinking about coming to an adoption event near you very soon. If you’d like to learn more about this pup and their fluffy friends who are looking for their furever homes, check out our website: https://amazingdogsrescue.org/dogs/ If you would like to reserve this doggie and have us bring them to the event of your choice for you to meet first, you can do so by paying a non-refundable deposit of $50 to our Venmo or Zelle account (619-918 2142 in the name of Amazing Dogs; pls indicate your telephone number). This deposit will go towards the adoption fee. After receipt of your deposit, we will confirm your reservation and list the doggie on our website as ‘Pending Adoption’. If you decide not to adopt one of our Amazing Dogs, the $50 is considered a compensation for the transportation costs. All our doggies come with their health record and have received all necessary medical care, which includes (but is not limited to) all vaccines, de-wormer, anti-flea/tick medication, microchip and of course spay/neuter surgery. Our adoption fee is $500. Only in California, the fee for babies under a year old is $600. Please consider this not as a price you pay for the doggie, but as a (tax-deductible) donation to our charity, so we can continue our work and take care of the 250+ dogs in our shelter. Read more about why we charge adoption fees here: https://amazingdogsrescue.org/adopt/ If you have any additional inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via call or text. We are excited to meet you at our upcoming adoption event! Contact before event: Sandra Garcia T (408) 477-0553. Story
This funny mug belongs to Squashy Nice! We call her Squash, Squish, Squoosh, Smoosh, Shorty McSnorty, Speed Bump, or Buzzsaw ;) There’s probably more. How much time do you have? Squash is a petite Frenchie pup who had the misfortune to be used by a breeder, but when her basic medical needs started to put a dent in the profits, they abandoned her. She was found roaming the streets with such bad ear infections that the shelter thought she needed to have her ear canals closed permanently. Thankfully, after they saved her from moving vehicles, the shelter staff were able to start healing her ears with meds. Lucky girl! Because she can definitely hear! We finished the treatments with our awesome rescue vet, and now her ears look great and she's ready to find a responsible, loving family of her own! Squoosh was probably born around February 2023. She's not even two yet and has already been a mom, possibly more than once. She was emaciated when we first got her but looks great now at 22ish pounds – and it’s crucial for her health and joints that she doesn’t become overweight. She's a roly-poly little girl, not built like a greyhound at all :-) In fact, she's a lot like a potbelly pig, and she snorts enough to give the pigs a run for their money! She has the energy of an area rug, with an occasional zoomie thrown in ;) She was rather unruly, in the way of most adolescents, when she first walked through the door to her foster home, but she’s been working hard on her manners ever since! Her foster fam is so impressed with how much she has learned and how greatly her manners have improved. We know it's a lot for a lost little shelter dog to wrap their head around so quickly, and we’re really quite proud of her! And so, we are looking for pet parents who understand leadership and appreciate little puppies with lovely manners. We want to see Squash in a home with folks who will continue to reinforce her impressive behavior! Frenchies aren’t typically known for being polite and respectful, so we're excited to have the best mannered Frenchie on the planet in our rescue! She's a smart little gremlin and treat motivated too. You can't ask for much more than that. Squishy's forever family will have older children if any, and a peaceful, low energy environment preferably with a mellow companion dog. A fenced yard is required, doesn't have to be a big one. Stairs are difficult though, so a place without too many is best. She gets along with everyone she meets - although like most little dogs and like so many French bulls, she can be barky when she sees new people or dogs, but she'll turn it off if you ask her to! Her favorite hobbies include trying to steal the big dogs’ beds, taking naps, snuggling, farting (sometimes while napping/snuggling), eating, and laying in the middle of the floor in the best location to trip you up. Equally important, Squash's future family should fully understand the extra expenses that come with having a brachycephalic dog. These guys have been bred to look a certain way for human pleasure alone, but in doing so we've created a number of inherent health concerns. Many Frenchies need airway surgery so they can breathe easier - it's not cheap. Heat stroke is also a major concern when your face is smooshed back into your skull. A lot of bulldog types deal with skin issues and/or allergies (which a raw food diet can really help). Too many Frenchies are also afflicted with spinal issues, sometimes resulting in rear end paralysis. We’re looking for parents who are not afraid of the vet (and the cost), and who will be extra careful with her activity so she has less risk of spinal injury and IVDD. She already has a hitch in her step so she should take it easy, not be overly rambunctious, and absolutely no jumping on and off furniture. All this might seem like a tall ask, but if you want a fancy breeder dog, you’ve gotta accept all that comes with it. Frenchies are not the dog for everyone, but if you’re ready, hit us up! She’s a hoot and will keep you in stitches all day long. Even if she’s fast asleep! adoptions@waggingdog.org ~ Adoptions within Southern California only please ~ http://waggingdog.org/October 25, 2024, 12:15 am

Story
Adoptable Gomez is one of the sweetest puppies we’ve met! He is about 5-6 months old, has a BEAUTIFUL brindle-ish coat, and is just a bundle of love. Gomez was on the urgent list at Riverside a few weeks ago simply for having an upper respiratory infection! We still want to give him another week before getting him neutered - just to make sure he is totally recovered from his URI. But this little pup is ready to find a long term foster or adoptive family 💗Gomez was listed at the shelter as a French bulldog mix and we actually think he probably does have some Frenchie - he has a cute little underbite and Frenchie ears 💗🥹 But he’s definitely mixed with some other things. He will be a medium sized dog as he’s only about 20 lbs at nearly 6 months old. Gomez loves other dogs, and is on the submissive side. He has done well with house training and crate training, but like any puppy will require some time and routine to get things down perfectly.

Story
Pirate is a remarkably intelligent and affectionate pup that will be 2 in October who, despite being born with only one eye, has never had any health issues related to it—our vet confirms he's perfectly healthy. I've had Pirate since he was born, and it’s with a heavy heart that I write this, as I'm deeply attached to him. Unfortunately, Pirate and his mom, Harley, have shown aggression towards our other Frenchie, and despite our efforts with a dog trainer, the situation hasn’t improved. Pirate is wonderful with kids and has a way of making everyone feel special with his enthusiastic greetings. Ideally, I’d like to keep Harley and Pirate together, but I understand that may not be possible. They have a strong bond and enjoy playing together. My hope is to find someone who can offer them a loving home where they can thrive and be appreciated as they truly deserve.

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Are you an experienced bulldog owner looking for a young, energetic,  speed walking Frenchie and ready to take on a vocal, mouthy little boy? Take a look at Zeus. Zeus is 2 1/2 years old, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.  At 31 pounds, with a fawn coat and mesmerizing green eyes, he is a gem of a Frenchie.  He loves to walk, and once he knows the way home, speeds up when you are headed back to his treats.  He loves to play with squeaky toys and when you throw, he gets it and plays keep away until you can get it and throw it again.  He is an excellent eater but needs additional remedial instruction on NOT begging or jumping up for your meal.  He sleeps through the night after a 10 pm potty break and when you take him out in the morning does his business in two stops with a short walk in between.  He is used to being taken out to potty so does not self initiate bathroom breaks so you need to either take him out yourself or continue to work on training him to take himself out.  He is NOT leash aggressive toward other dogs or people and not food protective.  He would do best as your one and only – he is truly a great companion dog.  He is fostered with two female dogs who he torments endlessly with his energy and attention seeking behavior.  He walks long walks twice a day – early morning and right before dinner. Zeus needs to be the only dog in the home, in a kid free home and would do best with someone who has bulldog experience.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.   LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY (San Diego). Zeus is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $300. An interview and home visit are absolutely required. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  January 19, 2025, 7:40 pm

Story
Tubbs is a friendly, lovable boy that is very high energy, he will need a secure yard to play in. Previous Frenchie experience is recommended. Tubbs came from a woman as a breeder dog, she had the female also, didnt care for the breed so she gave them to a random man. He put him in a crate in the back of his truck, sprayed them with water and was driving around. A friend saw this and took them both and came to us for help. As of right now Tubbs is ready to go but the female will not be available for a long while( please do not inquire about her). He is good with most other dogs ( but doesn’t care for cats) He is good with older children and is working on potty and leash training . Tubbs is neutered, current on vaccines, micro chipped and dewormed. Adoption fee: $300 Please submit an application @ southernstaranimalrescue.org Thank You
