Looking for a sweet French Bulldog? Bijou might be the pup for you! This striking Furry Frenchie is a gorgeous, unique 24 lb, 3 year old female chocolate Furry French Bulldog looking for her forever home. Bijou enjoys walks, car rides and playing with toys, especially stuffies she can shake. She is a loving, loyal pup, and is good with the foster dog in her foster home. Bijou is a great combination of independent and affectionate who seeks your attention and wants love and snuggles, then it's off the the next adventure or toy. She is doing great on her house training, and sleeps in her crate quietly all night. Bijou was most likely used for breeding because of her unique looks, and appears to have had several litters before she found herself abandoned at a local shelter. Bijou would make a great family member but because of her playful personality, older children are recommended. Bijou's adoption fee is $450 and includes her spay, microchip and current vaccinations. How this pet arrived: Hiccup was brought in by their previous owner on May 22, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Hiccup! Just like the brave (and slightly bashful) dragon trainer he's named after, Hiccup is a gentle soul who's still learning that the world isn't so scary. He likely missed out on some early "dragon training," so new sights and sounds can feel overwhelming at first-but with patience and a steady routine, he's sure to grow into a loyal, confident companion. Hiccup would do best as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the attention. Any kids in the home should be 8+ and present to meet him to make sure the vibes are right for everyone. He's already crate and potty trained, giving him a great head start in his new home. Hiccup is looking for a calm, quiet environment with minimal change, where introductions to new people and experiences are slow and positive. Keeping his world small at first will help this shy dragon-in-training feel safe as he learns to trust. If you're ready to help Hiccup find his courage, this sweet, soft-hearted pup may be the perfect addition to your family.Shy/Fearful Dog: Hiccup requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
Meet this special 3 and a half year old Frenchie with a heart. He’s officially potty trained and has settled beautifully into home life. This sweet, silly boy loves playing fetch, carrying around his favorite stuffy toys, and going on relaxing walks. He’s always happy for a tasty treat — especially sweet potatoes and bananas! He’s mostly chill and easygoing, but his goofy personality shines once he feels comfortable. After a rough start in life that included many vet visits, an ER trip, and lots of love and medical care, he’s now doing incredibly well and thriving. He does have dry eye and may need eye drops for life, but it certainly doesn’t slow him down. He takes it all in stride and is ready to find a loving forever home that will continue giving him the care and affection he deserves. Buster's adoption fee is $450 and includes his neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. Story
This funny mug belongs to Squashy Nice! We call her Squash, Squish, Squoosh, Smoosh, Shorty McSnorty, Speed Bump, or Buzzsaw ;) There’s probably more. How much time do you have? Squash is a petite Frenchie pup who had the misfortune to be used by a breeder, but when her basic medical needs started to put a dent in the profits, they abandoned her. She was found roaming the streets with such bad ear infections that the shelter thought she needed to have her ear canals closed permanently. Thankfully, after they saved her from moving vehicles, the shelter staff were able to start healing her ears with meds. Lucky girl! Because she can definitely hear! We finished the treatments with our awesome rescue vet, and now her ears look great and she's ready to find a responsible, loving family of her own! Squoosh was probably born around February 2023. She's not even two yet and has already been a mom, possibly more than once. She was emaciated when we first got her but looks great now at 22ish pounds – and it’s crucial for her health and joints that she doesn’t become overweight. She's a roly-poly little girl, not built like a greyhound at all :-) In fact, she's a lot like a potbelly pig, and she snorts enough to give the pigs a run for their money! She has the energy of an area rug, with an occasional zoomie thrown in ;) She was rather unruly, in the way of most adolescents, when she first walked through the door to her foster home, but she’s been working hard on her manners ever since! Her foster fam is so impressed with how much she has learned and how greatly her manners have improved. We know it's a lot for a lost little shelter dog to wrap their head around so quickly, and we’re really quite proud of her! And so, we are looking for pet parents who understand leadership and appreciate little puppies with lovely manners. We want to see Squash in a home with folks who will continue to reinforce her impressive behavior! Frenchies aren’t typically known for being polite and respectful, so we're excited to have the best mannered Frenchie on the planet in our rescue! She's a smart little gremlin and treat motivated too. You can't ask for much more than that. Squishy's forever family will have older children if any, and a peaceful, low energy environment preferably with a mellow companion dog. A fenced yard is required, doesn't have to be a big one. Stairs are difficult though, so a place without too many is best. She gets along with everyone she meets - although like most little dogs and like so many French bulls, she can be barky when she sees new people or dogs, but she'll turn it off if you ask her to! Her favorite hobbies include trying to steal the big dogs’ beds, taking naps, snuggling, farting (sometimes while napping/snuggling), eating, and laying in the middle of the floor in the best location to trip you up. Equally important, Squash's future family should fully understand the extra expenses that come with having a brachycephalic dog. These guys have been bred to look a certain way for human pleasure alone, but in doing so we've created a number of inherent health concerns. Many Frenchies need airway surgery so they can breathe easier - it's not cheap. Heat stroke is also a major concern when your face is smooshed back into your skull. A lot of bulldog types deal with skin issues and/or allergies (which a raw food diet can really help). Too many Frenchies are also afflicted with spinal issues, sometimes resulting in rear end paralysis. We’re looking for parents who are not afraid of the vet (and the cost), and who will be extra careful with her activity so she has less risk of spinal injury and IVDD. She already has a hitch in her step so she should take it easy, not be overly rambunctious, and absolutely no jumping on and off furniture. All this might seem like a tall ask, but if you want a fancy breeder dog, you’ve gotta accept all that comes with it. Frenchies are not the dog for everyone, but if you’re ready, hit us up! She’s a hoot and will keep you in stitches all day long. Even if she’s fast asleep! adoptions@waggingdog.org ~ Adoptions within Southern California only please ~ http://waggingdog.org/April 2, 2025, 12:20 pm

Story
*Courtesy Post* Meet Espi. A gentle soul learning that the world can be kind. She is about 5-6 years old. She was found severely starved on an abandoned property, left to fend for herself. Despite everything she’s been through, Espi has shown us that her heart is still open. She is a very sweet girl, she just needs a little time to feel safe with new people. She is shy at first and takes some time to trust. The best way to win her over is actually to give her space and let her come to you. Fast movements toward her face or coming towards her too fast can make her nervous so patience and calm energy goes a long way with this girl. Once she realizes she’s safe, she will ask you for pets by giving you her paw. She is house trained, crate trained and does well with other dogs. While she isn’t necessarily looking for a constant playmate, she enjoys hanging out and coexisting with other dogs. Espi is very food motivated. She hasn’t quite mastered taking treats gently from your hand yet, but she absolutely loves playing catch with treats and will happily participate in a snack toss session. Because Espi is still learning to feel safe in the world, she would do best in a calm, adult only home. Older, respectful environments where people understand that trust takes time will allow her to thrive. She can live with or without other dogs. She just needs someone patient enough to let her unfold at her own pace. If you believe in giving dogs a second chance and understand the time and compassion they deserve, Espi might be the girl you’ve been waiting for. If you are interested in meeting Espi, please fill out an application on our website below! https://www.underdogheroes.org/our-dogs
