Story
Jellybean was adopted from the Maricopa County shelter when she around 9 months old. If we don't get rid of her soon, we will have to unfortunately put her down. We've had her for two years since then and she is just way too energetic and we have tried so many times to get rid of her, she's causing way too much stress for us. She is very sweet to any person she has come in contact with, even at the vet. She does have anxiety issues so we give her calming treats. We got another dog so she would have someone to play with. Jelly just plays a little rough and likes to jump on her. Jellys been around smaller dogs and larger dogs and seems to get along fine. Shes a loving dog who always wants pets and affection. We are looking for owners to take her in and give her a better quality lifestyle. I work a lot and my significant other is disabled. Jellybean is adorable, and we love her. I just know she will be happier with another owner who can spend more time with her

Story
Hi I’m Bo, I’m 2 years old and looking for a New Home. I’m a great well behaved loving dog. I’m calm and relaxed and love to eat. I am good with smaller dogs, I just haven’t quite adapted to bigger dogs yet like other GSD’s. I’m timid at first but once I warm up I will be the most loving and caring pet. I love to sleep and I’m kennel trained as well. I haven’t been around many pets or kids and also looking to learn how to go out on more walks. The outside world is fresh to me since I’m always around my siblings but my experience so far has been interesting and nice. My perfect family would be someone who can love me and spend time with me. I looking to find my person and my forever home. I’m not hyper active and mellow for the most part. I would love to learn new things. I will be good and love on you. Hope to see you soon!

Story
Hey there! My name is Poppi, and if you are looking for a loyal, loving, and slightly oversized cuddle bug, I might just be the perfect pup for you! At just over a year old, I have grown into a strong, playful, 80-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as my paws. I have been living at Central Arizona Animal Rescue for most of my life, and while I love the people here, I can not help but dream about the day I finally find my own forever family. Here is my story: Once upon a time, I had brothers and sisters. We were rescued together, and I thought we would always be a team. But one by one, they found their families, got adopted, and went off to live their happily-ever-afters. I wagged my tail as I watched each of them go, waiting for my turn. And I have been waiting ever since. Now, I am the last of my litter, still searching for the right home where I can love, play, and thrive. Could it be with you? Here is why you will love me! I am a certified leaner – When you pet me, I will press my whole body against you like I am trying to absorb all the love I can. You will never pet me without feeling my full weight of affection! I have a short coat so that means less shedding – No fur-covered couches here, well,  maybe a little fur, but not much! My sleek coat means you can cuddle me without worrying about wearing me like a sweater.   I will be your playtime champion – I love to splash in water, roll in the mud, and zoom around like I am on a mission. If you want a pup who will bring energy and joy into your life, I am your guy! I am ready to go! – I am neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped—all set to start my new adventure with you! I will be loyal to the core – If you choose me, I will be your forever companion, always by your side, always ready for whatever fun life brings. I may be a little too big for tiny humans—not because I don’t love them, but because I do not always know my own size! I might accidentally knock over little ones in my excitement, so I would do best in a home where my new family understands my big-dog energy. I also love other dogs, and I would be thrilled to have a furry friend to play with. I have always had a big dog for a companion and like to play rough so I might not do too well if they are too small, another shepherd would be perfect. Whether I am your one-and-only or joining a pack, I promise to bring laughter, fun, and unconditional love to your home! I have only seen cats from a distance, and they always run when I bark at them which is awesome! I might need a little extra work if I need to live with them. I have never lived inside a house so that will be a new thing for me, I will certainly need some help with that thing called house-training, but I am a quick learner so you just gotta show me the ropes and be patient. If you have another dog I will probably just follow along with what they are doing. I’ve been waiting for my turn to find a family, and I just know there’s someone out there who’s looking for a dog like me. If that’s you, please do not wait any longer! Email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet me. I will be here, tail wagging, ready to lean into love and start my next adventure—with you!  If you are unable to adopt me, please share my video to help me find my forever home. Story
Hi there, my name is Stella, and I’m looking for my forever family! I’m a beautiful, strong German Shepherd girl with a big heart and an even bigger dream—to find someone who will love me as much as I’ll love them. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I believe the best chapter of my life is just about to begin. Maybe that chapter starts with you? Back in October of 2025, I was found wandering the streets of Yuma all alone. I don’t remember how I got there, but I do remember feeling scared and hurting. I had wounds that looked like another dog had attacked me, and they were never cared for. By the time the kind people at the Yuma Humane Society found me, my wounds were infected and half-healed. It wasn’t pretty, and honestly, I felt pretty hopeless. But then something amazing happened—people cared. The staff at the shelter made sure I saw a veterinarian right away. They cleaned my wounds, gave me medicine, and told me everything was going to be okay. It took a while because the infection was stubborn, but I never gave up. And neither did they. Thanks to their love and care, I’m healthy now and ready for a fresh start! After I healed, I got spayed, updated on all my vaccinations, and even got a microchip so I’ll never be lost again. When I was ready, I got a ride to Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’m staying now while I wait for my forever home. The people here are wonderful, but what I really want is a family of my own—a home where I can feel safe and loved every single day. I’m about 3 years old, which means I’m past the puppy stage but still full of energy and fun! I’m your typical German Shepherd: loyal, smart, and happiest when I’m with my people. I don’t like being left alone when I know you’re nearby—I just want to be part of your life. I love playing fetch and tennis balls are my absolute favorite! If you throw it, I’ll chase it every time. We don’t know for sure how I feel about cats or small children, and we’re not certain if I’m house-trained. But here’s what we do know: I’m a good girl who just wants to belong. I probably lived in a home before because I love being around people, and I try so hard to please. Sadly, no one ever came to claim me at the pound, but that just means I’m ready to start fresh with someone who truly wants me. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you unconditionally, I might be your girl. I promise to be your best friend, your protector, and your biggest fan. All I need is a chance. If you’d like to meet me, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I can’t wait to wag my tail and say hello! Thank you for reading my story. I’ve been through a lot, but I believe there’s someone out there who will see me for the amazing dog I am. Could that someone be you? Story
Hi, I’m Grover, a friendly and fun-loving Malinois mix boy who is looking for a new home. I don’t remember much about my past, but I know I was a stray in Yuma, Arizona until some nice people from animal control found me and took me to a shelter. There, I met some other dogs and humans who were very kind to me. They even arranged for me to get a ride to Phoenix, where I am now staying with the Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They are taking good care of me, but I really want to find a family who will love me forever. I am a neutered male, about 1 year old, and I have been vaccinated and microchippedI love playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, and I enjoy running around and having fun. I have lots of energy to burn off! I am very friendly and get along well with people and other dogs. I am not aggressive or possessive, and I don’t bark too much. I am also very smart and eager to learn new things. I am working on my leash skills and manners, but I need some more practice and guidance. I am looking for a home where I can be part of the family and get lots of love and attention. I would love to have a yard where I can run and play, or at least go for regular walks. I would also like to have some toys to keep me entertained and happy. I don’t mind if you have other pets, as long as they are friendly too. I just want to be your loyal companion and best friend. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption.
