Story
Sweet Keisha is looking for a home. She is 40 lb shepherd x lab with a kind and brave soul, who just melts into the arms of those kind enough to give her affection. Keisha was found in Puerto Vallarta, skinny and hungry, trying to care for and protect her litter of 6 puppies. She had dug a small hole to hide them as she stood over them, chained up, until thankfully the angels of the SPCA PV came to rescue them. After her rescue, they learned that Keisha was also blind, they believe from poisoning. Keisha's pups all inherited her kind soul and affection for humans. And we hope that Keisha herself will find her own happiness. Naturally because she can't see, she enjoys sniffari walks, to take in the world around her, and would love a safe property to explore her world in between cuddles with a family that this time would love her. If you think you may be able to give Keisha a home, we'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. You can also go directly to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Meet Sage!If you're ready for a wild ride, Sage is the puppy you've been waiting for! This little cutie is full of love, curiosity, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. And while she's super sweet and snuggly, don't let that adorable face fool you-Sage's nickname around here is "Land Shark," and she absolutely lives up to it!Sage is still learning the ropes of being a pup and figuring out what's good to chew on (her toys are clearly the best option, but hey, we all have our preferences). With the right guidance and plenty of reminders, she's going to be a pro at sticking to her toys in no time. Sage is learning the ropes of potty training too. While it's a work in progress, she's got the heart and drive to be a quick learner. Positive training methods are her jam, and she thrives when she knows she's doing the right thing (and she loves to be told how great she is). What Sage needs most right now is a home that's ready to match her energy, enthusiasm and knows the ins and out of the breed. She's looking for a family who's ready to help her grow into the perfect pup and teach her the ways of the world. She may need some time to learn the "do's" and "don'ts" of doggy life, but with consistent positive reinforcement and your love, she'll grow into the best doggy citizen she can be! If you're ready for a high-energy, loving, and playful puppy, Sage is your girl. Just be prepared for a wild ride, a few land shark moments, and a lifetime of love and laughs! 🦈💕Put in an application today to see if you're a match! Meet Big Smoke: Your Future Best Friend!Age: 9 years and 7 monthsBreed: MixedWeight: Currently working on it!Big Smoke is a joyful, easygoing pup looking for a loving home to spend his golden years. This happy-go-lucky boy is ready to fill your life with laughter and companionship. While he's not overly interested in other dogs, he's not a fan of unfixed males, so a home with the right canine friends or as your one-and-only would be perfect!Big Smoke could use a little help shedding some extra pounds, but with the right diet and a few leisurely walks, he's bound to thrive! His ideal home is one filled with love, patience, and the occasional treat (just a few, though!).Big Smoke's mortal enemy is the "V" "E" "T" (shhh, he might hear us talking) but luckily he just had a senior wellness exam, including bloodwork, and hopefully won't need to go back anytime soon as our vets gave him a clean bill of health! If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy and warmth to your life, Big Smoke is your guy! Come meet him and see if you're the perfect match! 🐾❤️Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Big Smoke's person? Story
Meet Archie, a sweet and playful dog who's ready to find his forever home. 🧡🐶Archie can be timid when meeting new people and will require patience as he gets to know you. It is important to note he is more fearful of men and it will take him extra time to be comfortable around them. Once he is trusting, he will show you just how much love he has to give. He's a big fan of pets and affection, and once you've gained his friendship, he'll be your loyal companion. Archie is full of energy and would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and room to run and play. Ideally a house with a backyard. He loves his toys and enjoys getting outside and having fun, so he's sure to bring lots of joy to his new family.Due to his strong pulling on the leash, Archie will need someone who can guide him through training to help improve his leash manners. With some patience and consistency, he'll be a wonderful walking buddy. If you are looking for a loving and energetic dog to join your home Archie may just be the perfect fit for you!Do you think you could be Archie's person? Story
Meet Chase, a handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd with an energetic spirit and a heart full of love!Chase is looking for his forever home, where he can be a loyal companion and receive the love and attention he deserves. Unfortunately, Chase was surrendered to our centre when his previous owners were no longer able to care for him. He was primarily housed outdoors, though he has experience living in a home setting and is ready to adjust to an indoor lifestyle again.Chase is a friendly, smart and social dog. In his previous home he lived with children and has proven to do well with them, though due to his size and excitable nature, he would do best in a home with older kids who can handle his playful energy. When meeting new people or when he's excited, Chase can be jumpy and may pull slightly on leash. We have been working on improving his leash manners, and he would require a home willing to continue on with his training. Chase has a history of separation anxiety in his previous home and has been known to vocalize when left alone for extended periods. Because of this, Chase would thrive in a home where someone can work with him on this, helping him to settle into his new environment comfortably.Chase is a high-energy dog who thrives on exercise, mental stimulation, and outdoor adventures. He would love a family who can keep up with his active lifestyle and enjoy spending time outdoors. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your life with, Chase could be the perfect match for you. He's ready to bring joy, love, and excitement to his new home.Do you think you could be Chase's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Story
Cooper is approx 2 years old, male and a mixed breed rescued as a puppy in Mexico. Cooper is well settled into life in Vancouver. He loves dog parks, doggy daycare and being on off leash adventures. A yard would be great for him as he can run for hours. An active owner will be best for Cooper, someone who will take him for outdoor trails and adventures. While cooper is social and friendly with everyone he meets, he is especially fond of women, perhaps because he was rescued and cared for by one. To apply to adopt Cooper please complete the adoption application on our website www.aboutadogrescuesociety.ca You can also find more video and photos of cooper there. Note: We are based in Vancouver and can only facilitate adoptions in our area or surrounding municipalities as part of our requirements is a home visit.
