Story
Meet Koda! 💗Koda came to us when her family could no longer care for her. In her previous home, she was described as an active gal with plenty of energy to burn. Since she's still new to the shelter, we're getting to know all of her quirks. What we do know is that she loves to play and will thrive in a home that can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Koda previously lived with cats, though she had a habit of trying to "pet" them with her paws-so a home with a dog-savvy cat could be a good fit. That being said, we believe Koda would do best as the only dog in the home. However, with proper introductions, she may enjoy having dog friends outside of her household.Do you think you could be Koda's person? Here are some ways to find out:1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
Sweet Keisha is looking for a home. She is 40 lb shepherd x lab with a kind and brave soul, who just melts into the arms of those kind enough to give her affection. Keisha was found in Puerto Vallarta, skinny and hungry, trying to care for and protect her litter of 6 puppies. She had dug a small hole to hide them as she stood over them, chained up, until thankfully the angels of the SPCA PV came to rescue them. After her rescue, they learned that Keisha was also blind, they believe from poisoning. Keisha's pups all inherited her kind soul and affection for humans. And we hope that Keisha herself will find her own happiness. Naturally because she can't see, she enjoys sniffari walks, to take in the world around her, and would love a safe property to explore her world in between cuddles with a family that this time would love her. If you think you may be able to give Keisha a home, we'd love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. You can also go directly to our application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Story
Cooper is approx 2 years old, male and a mixed breed rescued as a puppy in Mexico. Cooper is well settled into life in Vancouver. He loves dog parks, doggy daycare and being on off leash adventures. A yard would be great for him as he can run for hours. An active owner will be best for Cooper, someone who will take him for outdoor trails and adventures. While cooper is social and friendly with everyone he meets, he is especially fond of women, perhaps because he was rescued and cared for by one. To apply to adopt Cooper please complete the adoption application on our website www.aboutadogrescuesociety.ca You can also find more video and photos of cooper there. Note: We are based in Vancouver and can only facilitate adoptions in our area or surrounding municipalities as part of our requirements is a home visit.
