Story
Meet Blue! This energetic 3-year-old pup (turning 4 on February 2nd) is house trained and knows a variety of commands, including sit, stay, heel, go play, go potty, come, and shake. Blue thrives on adventure-he loves long walks, playing fetch with his favorite ball or frisbee, and exploring hiking trails. A day at the dog park is his idea of a perfect day! He's looking for a home without small children or babies and needs a family that can provide plenty of exercise and playtime to match his high energy. Blue is not just fun; he's also loyal and loves cuddling with his humans after a busy day. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is great off-leash, and behaves well on a leash. Blue does have very mild sign of hip-dysplasia that is very common in German Shepards. It is currently being controlled by pet-friendly CBD. He will need someone dedicated to maintaining this mild condition.

Story
🚗. Have you ever wanted to be able to sport a bumper sticker that says “My dog is smarter than your Honor Roll student” and have it be the truth? Wellp - here’s your chance! 🥇 Teddy is a big brained boy, who has come from a difficult past of harm from humans. He’s risen above it, soaked up his education, and come out on top like the champion he is. 🏫 He spent over a year with our friends at Rocket Dog Academy learning everything there is to learn to become a functioning member of society & now he’s learning how to “just be a dog” in a foster home setting. So far, things he’s learned in a home setting: 📺 the TV and its sounds are little unnerving 🐈 the cat is “whatever” 🐕 the 7lb - 75lb other dogs are sometimes fun to interact with, but also mostly “whatever” 🐔 the chickens, ducks and geese on the property are funny looking and stinky 🔥 the woodstove is HOT 🛋️ the couch in comfy ♥️ not all humans are as terrible as he once thought 👶 Teddy hasn’t spent time around children, and because of his painful history and the unpredictability of kids - we are recommending a kid-free home at this time. ❤️‍🩹 Teddy has scars from what looks like chemical burns all over his body, and his ears appear to have been burned and cut by human hands. Despite all this, he reciprocates the love and hard work he receives. He thrives on routine, clear expectations, and a no-BS approach to life. Teddy would excel at any hobby or sport you might be interested in doing with him - he’s got an eagerness to learn, a real strong sniffer, and smarts to figure out any dilemma. Knowledge he already possesses: 🧠 how to rock a muzzle 🧠 fully eCollar trained to cues including (but not limited to): sit, stay, place, here, leave it, wait, free 🧠 easily plays “yours, mine” even with dinner and high value treats 🧠 how to live without separation anxiety 🧠 crate trained & housebroken 🧠 how to settle when handler prompts at times of overwhelm (Waaaaaaay better than your honor roll kid 🤣) Also, fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered. If Teddy sounds like your kind of guy, please reach out to learn more about him!

**This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. We are assisting in her rehoming process. If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** 🐾 Meet Buttercup: The "Floppy" Adventure Queen 🐾 Looking for a dog who is equal parts world-class athlete and professional snuggler? Meet Buttercup, a 3-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix who is ready to be your new best friend. The Good Stuff: - Pro Trainee: She knows sit, stay, roll over, high five, spin, and more! She’s house-trained, kennel-trained, and has excellent recall. - Family Favorite: Buttercup is incredible with kids and currently lives peacefully with a cat (who definitely runs the house). - Affection Level 10/10: She’s "floppy," loves to be picked up, gives actual hugs, and lives for neck scratches. - Outdoor Enthusiast: She loves soccer balls, splashing in puddles, and long sniffs in the grass. Her "Work in Progress": Buttercup is highly reactive to other dogs on a leash. It’s not aggression—she just gets frustrated because she wants to say hi right now—but it means she barks and lunges when she sees a furry neighbor. Because of this, she’s looking for a home outside of the busy city. Ideal Home: 🏡 A house with a fenced yard or some land. 🚫 A "no-other-dogs" household (or an experienced owner who can manage her toy/food guarding around other pets). ❤️ Someone who loves a smart, food-motivated dog and doesn't mind a bit of extra training on walks. Buttercup is a loyal, happy girl who just needs the right environment to thrive. Could your yard be her new favorite playground?

Story
💅 Meet BB (aka Boss Babe) BB (originally “Big Bertha,” but we prefer Boss Babe 💁‍♀️) is a 1.5-year-old shepherd/pittie mix (DNA test pending because she likes to keep things mysterious) with a big personality and main-character energy. She spent over 3 months in shelter and is very ready to be someone’s center of attention. BB can look a little serious at first, but once you get to know her, she’s playful, silly, and very engaged with her people. Her play style is best described as: professional button-pusher. She loves to try to start roughhousing with medium-to-large dogs, and if she gets corrected, she actually takes it well — she’ll try again with less intensity, then either wander off or come check in with her human. She’s: ✅ Best suited for medium to large dog friends 🚧 Currently small-dog interactions are gated-only due to her enthusiastic play style 🍪 Very food and praise motivated 🛁 Good for baths and nail trims (a little dramatic, but cooperative) 🐦 Not bothered by birds and will chase a running cat, but mostly ignores calm, aloof cats She’s still working on: 🐕 Leash manners (strong, excited, and ready to see the world) 🏠 Barrier feelings (sometimes hesitant to come inside, barks at dogs behind fences or crates, but settles) 📦 Crate time (goes in, complains briefly, then settles in about 5 minutes) She may alert bark at people behind barriers, but redirects easily and settles nicely. BB is not a beginner dog, but for someone who likes training, structure, and a dog with opinions and sparkle, she’s going to be a really fun, rewarding companion. If you’re looking for a confident, spicy, Boss Babe who keeps life interesting and gives you a dog to do things with, BB might be your girl. 💅🐾
