Southpaw Rescue was contacted by a Good Samaritan after a video of a trembling dog in the San Bernardino Shelter went viral. Riley had been wondering a bad neighborhood for two months without being caught. Once in the shelter, Riley shut down and found himself on the euthanasia list within 72 hours. Southpaw Rescue was able to get to Riley and pull him within 15 min. of his cut off date for euthanasia. Like so many dogs, as soon as we pulled Riley, we realized he was one of the sweetest dogs you could meet. He lives for pleasing his foster mom. Riley is great with all the other dogs in the home, both big and small. He doesn't pull at all on the leash and enjoys hiking. Riley is learning his basic commands and has fallen into the home routine quickly. He would be good in a home with children, other dogs or as a single dog. He craves human affection and attention. Riley is a protector. When walking, he is constantly alert to his surroundings. If there is an unusual noise outside at night, he will alert you. My name is Bella Rose and I am a little over a year old. I am a German Shepard mix. I was found running in the middle of the street in the middle of the night. A kind man who brought me home and reached out to a local rescue. The rescue looked for my owners and no one came forward to claim me. I also did not have a microchip. My stray hold has been up for a while and still no one came looking for me. While I feel sad about that, I have been adjusting to a life indoors and boy let me tell you its fantastic! I love to cuddle up with my foster human and show my appreciation for saving me. A little about me: I am crate trained. I am potty trained. I am good with kids, dogs and cats. I love to cuddle and spend time with my foster human. Tug-of-war is my favorite game to play. I have been in foster care now about 5 months and while its great to have a safe place to lay my head, I am still missing my perfect family. I am available to adopt OR foster to adopt. Stella's family sadly needed to rehome her back in October 2022 and she was running out of time. Bruce G. Krider with The Puppy Coalition kindly came and saved her and has been looking for a long term foster or a forever home. Stella has been through so much since October. She lost the only family she knew, she’s been to a couple short term fosters just to keep her safe and now she just had surgery for bloat and is recovering. Her current foster dad unfortunately cannot foster her past March 18 so she needs something soon. Stella is almost 9 years old, weighs 82 lbs., is spayed and house trained. She needs to be the ONLY animal in the house. Stella is a very sweet girl and loves people. She is great on a leash and loves her walks but also enjoys hanging out on the couch. She also knows basic commands and even speak.
