Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Leia (named after Princess Leia) is a shepherd mix, and she is now available to find her forever home! Leia is 10 months old (DOB 12/21/2023) and is a sweet, independent and young adult shepherd. She’s about 80lbs now and still filling out. She also has a soft medium fur coat. Leia is super playful with dogs, likes to have a good sized yard, so far good with most dogs big & small, good with kids 10+, not sure about younger kids as she is a normal mouthy shepherd. No exposure to cats yet but likes to chase birds and squirrels. She would do best in a home with another youngish dog as a play companion or a medium active family- she likes her naps! Leia doesn’t like water or baths, but likes rain. She likes to be near her people but not overly licking or long periods of snuggling. She likes to nap, lay and sleep independently nearby. Leia is just learning leash training so that will need to be continued in her new home. She is potty trained to an open sliding door in her current foster home. Looking for an experienced big breed owner for this beautiful shepherd mix! Training & socialization are super important for a big breed owner and will be absolutely need to be continued by a dedicated owner. Please remember - all dogs will need potty training continued in a new home. No dog is accident proof, so homes must be young dog-proofed & ready before adoption. cause4sbpaws@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 7:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**In order to get our large-breed dogs adopted, we asked for adoption sponsors to cover the adoption fees for a few of our big dogs, and Keary's fee is 100% sponsored by a Cause for SB Paws donor! Applicants are still subject to an interview, meet and greet, and it of course must be the right fit. But the adoption fee is covered!** Beautiful Keary has been in rescue for over a year!! She's one of our top priority dogs right now because she deserves a home of her own, and time is running out of time in her boarder/foster home! She acts like a big puppy who LOVES to play. She is high energy and extremely smart. She was a stray in the San Bernardino mountains for several weeks, and once Mountains Humane Society was able to trap her, she had to go into boarding due to no foster homes. They reached out to rescues, and because one of our fosters stepped up, we were able to take Keary into Cause for SB Paws! It took her about a week in her foster home to fully trust, but now she loves everybody. Keary likes to play hard and while she knows to be gentle around certain dogs, she would do best with another large, high-energy fur-sibling. She has a Shepherd working dog temperament, so she needs lots of mental and physical stimulation. She loves to play fetch, do puzzle games, chew antlers, and thrives in her training sessions. Oh and LOVES water! See her video. :) She's very loving and seeks pets and kisses, but doesn't often snuggle, because she's always on the go! Keary is looking for a large-breed loving adopter. An active home a must. Keary does well with the pre-teens in her foster home, but still jumps up a lot, so she could knock over small children. If you're the fun-loving active family Keary needs, we'd love to meet you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Skye, the stunning German Shepherd looking for her forever home! At just 2.5 years old, Skye may be petite for her breed, weighing in at just over 50 pounds, but she has a heart as big as the sky! Skye and her sister, Rain, were discovered as strays, and although we expected someone to come forward and claim them, fate had other plans. Now, they are part of our loving family at Our Underdog Rescue Squad, and we couldn't be happier to have them. Skye is truly a good girl, full of potential and eager to please. While she may be a little rough around the edges, she just needs a bit of training to refine her manners and learn some basic commands. The great news is that Skye is a quick learner, and with a little guidance, she will shine like a diamond. With her energy and enthusiasm, Skye is the perfect adventure partner in the making. Imagine exploring the great outdoors together, embarking on thrilling hikes, and enjoying countless adventures. With some training effort, Skye will be by your side, ready for any escapade that comes your way. While Skye can be a bit selective with other dogs, she is dog-friendly with proper introductions. With the right approach and guidance, she can learn to socialize and make furry friends. Skye just needs someone who understands her and is committed to helping her become the best version of herself. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who is ready to embark on new journeys with you, Skye is the one for you. Together, you can create a bond that will last a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable adventures. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have Skye as your new four-legged family member. Contact us at Our Underdog Rescue Squad today and let's make Skye's dreams of finding a forever home come true! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Leota (named after Madam Leota) came to us as a pup and grew into an 80-lb adult, 18-mo old adult with us! She is a shepherd mix, and has been available for a year! Her DOB was 12/21/2023, and is a sweet, snuggly, playful girl! Leota is super playful, good with all dogs big & small, good with kids 5+, (I’m sure smaller kids too but needs to be taught to go easy/slower with babies/toddlers- we don’t have any here). No exposure to cats yet but was instantly good with a new puppy and a new 2 yr old pug so it’s possible! She would do best in a home with another youngish dog as a play companion or an active family. Leota likes to play a lot, take a nice nap, and comes to you for brief snuggles. She likes to nap, lay and sleep independently nearby. Leota is just learning collars & leash training so that will need to be continued in her new home. She is potty trained to an open sliding door in her current foster home. Looking for an experienced big breed owner for this beautiful shepherd mix! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Lana and I am a young shepsky mix. I am a total lovebug who would do best in a home with someone who can make sure I get daily exercise. I am a bit of an escape artist so I will need a home with a secure yard that has high fences. Nothing is known about my background unfortunately. I found myself on the euthanasia list at the shelter due to overcrowding. I am crate trained and potty trained. I am also learning basic commands and leash etiquette but will need someone willing to continue with training. I have been tested with cats and did well but I do not live with them full time so a trial in a home with cats would be recommended before finalizing my adoption. I am great with other dogs and kids.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2025, 2:50 pm

Story
I am trying to re-home my two pups Ziggy and RuKus because I am unable to take care of them any longer. I have fibromyalgia for almost 40 years and a blood cancer (Polycythemia). I take chemo pills, and they have side effects so I have to take each day as it comes. Also, my husband suddenly passed away on November 30th from Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. We had adopted Ziggy from the Animal Control in San Bernardino two years ago after losing our last German Shepherd. He is ten now. Both dogs are too large and strong for me. My children are afraid they are going to cause me to fall, which I have done many times. For physical and financial reasons I cannot keep the dogs even though it makes me sad, I have to do it. Ziggy is a very chill and sweet dog. He loves to be petted and snuggled. He loves going to the dog park and going for a walk. He enjoys playing with other dogs and people.
