Hi! I’m Dex — your future best friend, adventure buddy, and professional “lean in for pets” expert.
I’m a young guy, just over a year old, and ready to find my new home. I already know my basics, walk nicely on leash, and I’m excellent in the car — windows down, ears flapping, living my best life. I can be a little leash reactive but my friends have been working hard on that and I'm doing great. Don't get me wrong, I like other dogs and play with a bunch all day. I've even been meeting a lot of new friends while on my leash and learning there's nothing to it.
People? LOVE them. Truly. I’m sweet, affectionate, and always ready to make a new friend. I’m easy to handle, not jumpy or mouthy, and I’m not a big barker — just a good, friendly guy who wants to be close to his people.
In the house, I’ve got great manners. I’m potty trained as long as I have access to get outside, and I’m not destructive (your shoes are safe with me). I’ll play a nice game of fetch, but I’m not going to turn it into a full-time job. Treats, however? Yes please — I love all kinds and will happily show off my skills for snacks. I’m also a champ at the vet and during bath time.
I’m crate trained, though I’ll be honest… it’s not my favorite place. I’d much rather be hanging out with you. Like I mentioned, I've been doing a bit of training and I've got my basics down really well. I'm a smart boy and I learn fast. I’m looking for a partner — someone who enjoys getting out and about with me, continuing my training, and helping me build confidence. Not someone who sticks me in the backyard and hopes I figure it out (I won’t), but someone who’s excited to guide me, work with me, and celebrate my progress — preferably with treats.
I could really use a best friend so if you think that's you, let's meet. Also… have you seen my face? Because I’m pretty handsome too. You'll get lots of attention with me by your side.
