Story
Jimmy Jam is a cuddly, curious, affectionate and goofy German Shepherd. Jimmy has a condition called Masticular Muscle Myositis that affects the muscles in his face and jaw, as a result, he lacks chewing strength and is not able to fully open his mouth. Despite those minor challenges, he thrives! He does well eating soft foods, like soaked kibble and wet food, and loves to play with any toys that he can fit in his mouth. He takes lots of naps and loves to rub his face on his bed. Jimmy Jam has some shepherd energy for sure, but he settles down very quickly and gets most of his energy out with walks and short bursts of playtime. During training, he is focused, smart, and very obedient. He behaves well in the car, though he can get sick. Jimmy does great on walks, however he is showing some reactivity at first introduction to new dogs, but that has been manageable by redirecting him with high value treats. With proper introduction, he does great with other dogs. Jimmy is being fostered in a home with 2 other dogs, but has not been observed with children or cats. He is house trained, and is doing well with crate training. Fostered in Sacramento, CA Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Meet Zoe! Zoe is a 45lb, ~1yr old Pit Bull/German shepherd mix (per DNA results!) who was pulled from an overcrowded SoCal shelter. Since being pulled from the shelter she has been in a loving & adventurous foster home where she has been exposed to a lot of other dogs, big and small, and loves it! She is a quick learner, and has already learned many skills and cues in her new foster home. She is fully potty trained, great on a leash, and loves car rides. She is an extremely intelligent and loving dog that is ready to learn and adapt to her new home--wherever it may be. She is still in the process of being crate trained, but is comfortable in the corral area she stays in at her foster home & is nondestructive. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, and gains confidence, she is all love. With an owner committed to building that confidence, she will continue to come out of her shell like she has with us! Her ideal human is a loving companion (or companions) with an active lifestyle and adventure buddy, as she has already shown a love for hiking and exploring. She’s looking for someone that can remain committed to loving her for the rest of her life. Fostered in Topanga, CA Adoption donation: $300 includes her spay, microchip, rabies, bordetella, DHPP vaccines, dewormers, and monthly flea/tick/HW prevention

(((READ ALL INFO BEFORE INQUIRING PLEASE))))) Steps needed to adopt Step 1) complete the application, the link is below https://form.jotform.com/81702264428152 Step 2) Thoroughly read any info about the dog. Review the rescues adoption procedures and process. Thoroughly research the breed. Please do not submit multiple emails or applications. We will contact you if we feel your home is a good fit. ALL dogs and cats in the rescue must be spayed/neutered in the rescue. Because puppies may be to young to undergo surgery, they are placed on our spay and neuter schedule. If they are adopted prior to their surgery date, the adopter must agree to either bring the dog back for their spay/neuter, or complete the alter at their own vet with a special contract in place and proof of the alter within a timeframe. If submitting an application for a puppy under 4 months, they might not yet be altered and are on the schedule. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >>>>>>About the Dog
