Story
We got Zen from the pound when she was a puppy. She is approximately 3 years old now. We are looking for a new home for her because we feel she would be happier in a family where she is the only dog. Zen was food aggressive and would resource guard water and toys as a puppy. We currently have a 5 year old golden retriever as well, which for the most part they get along very with each other. Zen goes for walks, plays in the pool, runs at the park. Overall she is a sweet girl and would do great in an active family that goes on long walks, visits parks, or anything outside. More about her and her personality: - Husky/German Shepherd mix. - Social - Potty Trained. - We’ve spent time training her, she knows: sit, stay, spin, drop it, shake, come, and leave it. - She is kennel trained. She is a great guard dog. She has protected our fruit trees from many critters and always alertive. We’d be more than to answer any questions or give more information about her personality.

Story
Silver came into the rescue with a badly injured rear leg. At his first vet visit it was discovered after imaging that he had actually been shot in the rear leg. Because of silver's young age the vet approximated the wound to have happened when he was around 4 months of age. Unfortunately the bullet fragmented a lot as well as completely destroyed the ability to surgically reconstruct it . In addition to all this the leg was badly infected because the wound was at least 6 months old already and never was cared for.He does use his rear leg to a degree and all the nerves seem to be intact. But he will have a limp for the rest of his life. He is the sweetest boy and loves getting attention and learning new skills.

Story
Onyx has an estimated birthday of 1/15/2025. We are not positive of his breeding. He definitely has Shepard ears and has slight colored spots with German Shepherd coloring. We estmate he will be a large dog approximately 70+ lbs. Onyx is extremely smart. He is very cuddly. I find dogs rescued from the homeless tend to be very cuddly. He is a puppy with lots of puppy energy. He loves toys. He minds really well. He knows basic commands of sit, wait, and sits patiently for release command to eat his meals. He walks really well on a leash. I'm the foster and have been training him to walk on my side. I will be teaching more basic training while he is in foster care. He is kennel trained. Onyx was rescued rescued the day after Easter 4/21/25 with a broken leg. He was a puppy that was owned by a homeless man, but then the man moved into an apartment and couldn't take puppy Onyx so he tied him to a fence post and left him. Luckily for Onyx another homeless woman took him, but she only had him for a month when she was riding her bike and Onyx was on a leash running next to her when is little leg got caught in a spoke. Other homeless witnesses heard Onyx scream and saw his snapped leg. Poor little guy was in a lot of pain. I was notified the next day and I was able to get him from the homeless lady at 9 pm. A trip to the vet and an x-ray verified it was broken so he wore a doing for six weeks. Onyx is very friendly with all people. Loves kids. He is ok with cats that know dogs. He is living in a foster home with foster cats. He should be OK with other dogs at this time he has not been allowed to play with the other foster dogs because of his split he was on mostly rest time for his leg to heal. He sees the other dogs and his kennel is next to the other dogs and is not reactive. He has two weeks of physical therapy which ends 6/20 then he will get time to play with another dog. I'm sure he will love it. He will be a great family dog. Great playmate for another dog. A great walker if you want company on a walk. He had been on kennel rest with the broken leg and would wine if he needed to go potty. We will begin normal potty training as he can use his leg longer through the day. Onyx is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
This sweet girl came in with 3 of her sisters as young puppies. Their mom was rescued by a kind couple in Rosarito Mexico but they could not keep the puppies. The girls were such sweeties but are very timid. Molly is the last of the sisters still here waiting for their forever homes. She is the sweetest thing but very timid so she would do best with a calm and kind person with lots of patience and understanding.

Story
We adopted her in from a shelter when she was a puppy. I’m guessing she’s about one year old now. She is very trainable and intelligent. She is also a sweet heart and gentle with our newborn baby. Which is the reason she is up for adoption. We can’t give her the attention she deserves so it’s time for a new home for her. You can have everything we bought for her, a kennel, a couple of dog beds, and a food container. She weighs 45 pounds, stands about two feet tall. The shelter spayed her and gave her all of her shots. She has a microchip that I never registered.

Story
NOTE: COMBIE IS WITH HIS PEOPLE IN MEADOW VISTA, CA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET COMBIE. WE ARE LISTING HIM ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HIM MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS BIO FOR CONTACT INFO. "Combie" is an approx 75-lb, 14-mos old (born 6-5-23) recently neutered male American Blue Bay Shepherd who is very affectionate, smart and socially sophisticated. Combie is healthy, up-to-date on core vaccinations and microchipped. He does have some behavioral issues that will require special arrangements; more on this later. Note: the American Blue Bay Shepherd is a breed currently in development to produce family dogs with a stunning lupine appearance. The only legitimate breeder of Blue Bay Shepherds is Southern Breeze Kennels in St Cloud, FL, from where Combie was purchased. See https://www.bluebayshepherds.com/home.html. Combie is friendly with strangers, both inside the house and beyond. His family spent a ton of time socializing him when he was young; he loves going to dog-friendly breweries and wineries. He is great with the 10-yo girl he lives with and her friends; however, he has not been around younger children. Combie has always done very well with other dogs. He has great social skills and typically presents submissive and playful behaviors. He is non-reactive to barking dogs or dogs displaying aggressiveness towards him. He has not been exposed to very small dogs, however. It should also be noted that Combie exhibits resource guarding tendencies for high value food-based items like bully sticks. Combie has not interacted with any cats, and appears to have a strong prey drive. So, a home without cats is strongly advised for Combie. Combie is fully housetrained and respectful of the rules, most notably staying out of the kitchen and off furniture. His people leave him in his exercise pen indoors when they are gone for more than an hour. He sleeps on the living room floor at night. Combie has received considerable formal obedience training, both as a puppy and more recently. He walks well on leash (his people use a Gentle Leader) and is non-reactive towards other dogs. His off-leash recall could use improvement, however. Combie enjoys riding in a vehicle and is a calm passenger. He has been in car rides as long as 5 hours. He enjoys playing tug-of-war with a rope toy and loves to be chased around. Combie also likes to swim. Overall, Combie is a medium energy dog who is happy with two 20-30 minute walks a day and some tug-of-war and running around at home. Now, for Combie’s behavioral issue: When Combie was six months old, there was a fire in his house in the middle of the night. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished fairly quickly. During the ordeal, he was trapped in his crate. Over the next several weeks he started exhibiting fearfulness and aggression after dark that became progressively worse. Combie’s people sought the assistance of a professional pet behaviorist for his nighttime fear behavior and it helped tremendously. It took several months, but now evenings are once again peaceful at home. Unfortunately, there is still a major issue that the behavior reconditioning has not helped with much: If he is awoken in the middle of the night (someone getting up and turning on the lights for example) he freaks out aggressively and will bite. Combie cannot be crated and has a fear of confinement at nighttime. He can be put in a pen or kennel enclosure during the day but not for bedtime. The ideal living situation for Combie is sleeping outdoors, in the garage, or some other place separated from humans for safety. He doesn’t do well being alone and would like to have other dogs near him overnight. Combie is located in Meadow Vista, CA. His adoption fee is $100. Please contact Shawn Severinsen at 408-781-4218 or shawnsev@protonmail.com.
