Story
We adopted Sasha at age 1 from a Facebook rehoming group 6 years ago. She's great with our kids, but unfortunately she has a behavioral issue we've not been able to correct. She came to us with the issue of dog aggression. She is very aggressive towards other dogs. We have tried to work with her. She has traveled and camped with us, she has lived in our home. But we are no longer able to provide a home for her due to her issues with other dogs. I believe she could benefit from professional training, which we are not able to provide. She's a very loving dog. She loves attention and petting. She is food motivated for training. She knows a couple of commands such as sit and lay down and she is perfectly house trained and crate trained. It's a difficult decision to rehome this dog who is so great in many ways, but with her dog aggression, we just can't handle her anymore. Please note that she is NOT aggressive towards humans and has been great with our kids.

Story
This is Onyx! She’s a 1 year old German shepherd lab mix who was rescued from a euthanasia list in California. She’s made her way to us in Indianapolis and she’s the sweetest girl! She was fostered with several other dogs for a few months before we got her, but we’re having trouble with our 4 year old Australian shepherd feeling territorial over his things with Onyx here. We just want Onyx to have a safe, comfortable home where she can be loved on!! She is never aggressive. At her last vet visit, she weighed 67lbs. She is shy at first when meeting new people, but opens up warmly. Loves treats and running outside free in the grass. Recently discovered her love of playing in the snow. She’s a good eater. Will give you her paw for pets. She’s met our neighbor’s dogs and did very well with them! She is spayed and up to date on all shots. Happy to answer any questions!

Story
DOB: **8/28/24** Storm is a sweet, goofy, energetic German Shepherd who knows basic commands and walks ok on leash. She loves balls, the flirt pole, sniffing on walks, and being active. Healthy, fit, and very trainable. I have 3 dogs and don’t have the time she truly deserves, so I’m looking for a responsible home that can give her structure, exercise, and continued training. She will come with her **name collar**, **leashes**, and she currently eats **Victor kibble**. Storm is a great dog and needs someone who can help her thrive. Serious inquiries only. -

Story
Can you help a sweet senior have the best years of her life? Aurora is a gentle soul, about 11-12 years old . She's lived peacefully with cats, does not get along with female dogs but is fine with male dogs. After a divorce, she's all alone all day for 14 and more hours after being in a big bustling household. She has a heart of gold. An upcoming work transfer means she has a surrender date with the humane shelter in December and we're hoping to instead find what she needs: a loving companion(s) who will help her exercise and play fetch with tennis balls--instead of pining and waiting alone for hours. It's so hard for her to be all alone in an empty house all day long from sunrise to sunset. Please help her to enjoy her last years! She needs a loving home!

Story
Meet Roxanne! She is a 3 year old German Shepherd. Roxanne loves to go on walks, trails and hiking. She enjoys car rides and the occasional mini adventures to the local farm stores, hardware store or park. Roxanne is a typical GSD whose owners failed horribly when it came to keeping her safe social, and balanced. She is crate trained and house broken. She is a very sweet loving girl who was dealt a bad hand in life, well no more! Roxanne has been nothing but amazing since day 1. I actually never experienced any behaviors when meeting her. She took to us like she knew us always. Roxanne enjoys running and cycling, she also loves playing with toys. She is very food motivated and eager to learn as you can see, she could loose a few pounds. We have worked on socializing her, modifying her fearful behavior, exposing her to people and dogs of all sizes, and she's doing great. Roxanne is dog friendly and does not mind birds, ducks, roosters, hens, pigs, However no small dogs with personality/attitude problems. So that means taking no chance ever! ABSOLUTELY NO LITTLE DOGS UNDER 30 POUNDS EVER. We prefer a home with NO CHILDREN due to her fearful history. Although she did live in a home with teenagers at one point. She arrived at the sanctuary because her family could no longer keep her. She is a Hurricane Harvey survivor. She was adopted, but then re-homed. And re-homed 2 other times. Her last owner did not have the experience she needed and wanted to euthanize after she and their other dog who happened to be little got into a scuffle. They admit their little dog always bullied Roxanne and she finally had it. We were also informed Roxanne had trust issues with strangers and would hard bark. Well... She did just that when I met her, within 5 minutes i was walking with her on leash. Roxanne will need continued training, her new person must be breed experienced, active, and willing to pick up her training where we leave off, so she can be the great dog she was meant to be. She is great with dogs but no little dogs at all or dogs with attitude issues, no cats due to prey drive, however, a nice fence in yard is preferred. Children over the age of 12 is a possibility, if matured, best who have been around GSD. Roxanne is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm/flea/tick prevention. FREE TRAINING FRESHERS and a life time support from us. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Bruce! A 3 year old young adult dog who lacks confidence and socialization. Bruce is amazingly sweet, Submissive and fairly easy for his breed. I have enjoyed working with Bruce and watching his transformation happen. Exceeding each goal every time but patience is a must! Bruce has met hundreds of folks and kids and done amazing only after a few times of meeting them. Playful, loving, social, happy, outgoing. and with space and time very social. Bruce is dog, cat, all critter friendly, walks amazing on leash, muzzle trained, and super star with basic commands. Bruce needs an active breed experience owner who will continue to help him overcome his fears and challenges while he continues to exceed with training. A home with at least another active playful confidence dog, a nice fence in back yard, as well as a avid walker/jogger/runner, and plenty of mental enrichment work his breed requires is a must. Bruce is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, core as well as rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention.
