Story
Like her name sake Twyla is chatty and goofy. She is a playful pup who loves to play ball all day, and she is an opinionated pup who does well with other dogs. She would do well with other dogs who match her playing style which is energetic. She is fully potty trained and crate trained. She is good around children and is a huge water girl. No surprise that she is very chatty about life and wants to share her stories with you, so a good fit would be a home that would listen. She loves to go around town and hang out, social girl in the making. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Hi, my name is Carl and I'm looking for my very own adventure buddy! I am approximately 5-6 month old and they call me a Shepherd mix. I am a sweet, active boy who loves my people and being goofy. I am learning basic commands, crate and house training in my foster home. My foster mom says I am highly intelligent with maybe a touch of ADHD. :) I love playing with other dogs, but I can be a bit protective of my favorite toys and food. I love all people, but may bit to much for smaller humans. Since I'm so energetic, I would love to meet a family who can keep me active, burn off all my energy, and teach me new things. My foster mom says I would make a wonderful hiking partner. I need a 6 ft. fence or to be 100% watched at all times outside as I can jump high and fences are no match for me! :) *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt

Story
Hi, my name is Ellie! I am a approximately 5-6 month old shepherd/hound mix. My foster mom figured I was all shepherd until I opened my mouth and bayed like an old hound dog! I am a sweet girl who is looking for a home with other doggies to play with. I am good with all sized people, as long as the children are sturdy! :) I've got lots of puppy energy and sometimes don't know my own strength. I am working on my crate and house training, along with tricks in my foster home. I currently live with both dogs and cats and I love both! I can be sweet, snuggly, but do have a shy side. I'm a smart girl, but sometimes my hound side shows and I need a patient adopter who will work with me. Are you my forever family!? *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt

**Bronx is in need of a new foster home! If you'd like to foster him, please submit an application through our website - www.helpingpawsonline.com/foster-application Meet Bronx! This happy go lucky dude came from a local shelter where he was brought in as an owner surrender. He is about 5 years old and weighs about 55-60lbs. He gets along with great with other dogs and is fine with cats. We are recommending older children for him partly because he jumps and partly because he isn't a huge fan of having his collar pulled on (we suspect some past trauma) so the kids would need to be old enough to know not to do that. His foster home is working on house training as he does like to mark, but he will wear a belly band without an issue so that might be a solution while he continues his training. He's a great dog that would love to be a part of a family! Bronx's adoption fee is $250, which will include all of his vaccine, neuter, and microchip. He is also heartworm negative and currently on heartworm and flea prevention. Interested in meeting him? Visit www.helpingpawsonline.com/adoption-application and apply today!

Story
Storm is roughly 3 years old, he was a stray that was at Indiana Animal Care Services. I adopted him but I have 2 other Shepherds and it's just too much for me to keep up with. He is a sweet boy with lots of energy. Loves to play ball and fetch sticks. He probably needs to be in a home where he is the only dog. He may get along with others but mine are both older and it just wasn't a good fit. House and crate trained. Neutered, microchipped, and shots are all current. Just needs a place where he can receive all the attention. No fee, just want a good home for him. Should have a fenced yard if possible.

Story
Aren't I just the prettiest German Shepherd you've ever seen? My last owners surrendered me after I lived and loved them for my whole life. So, at 4 years old, I'm on the hunt for a new family who will treat me like the princess I am. I've lived with kiddos and with other big dogs so I'm pretty compatible with anyone. Except for cats, I am NOT a cat fan. Hopefully you aren't either! Now, let's talk more about my amazing qualities! I love going on walks, I'm great at fetch, and since I'm a German Shepherd I'm super smart which means I LOVE to train. But, I am going to need your help with some things. Like all the other girlies, I have some tummy issues. This means that I will need lifelong management with medication and special food (but not too special, you can still get my favorite blend at your local pet store or Chewy). Now that I've laid it all out there, do you think you could give me a chance? My foster mom think's I'm the best, but don't take her word for it- find out for yourself!

Rako's Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCat test - Passed!Kids - Prefers grown-upsMeet Rako, the coolest canine with charisma to spare, on the hunt for an equally cool human sidekick. Rako's a unique mix, with a DNA test revealing he's 50% German Shepherd, 29.5% American Bulldog, and 20.5% American Pit Bull Terrier. These three distinctive breeds come together to create the lovable and unique pup we all know and adore. From the loyalty and intelligence of the German Shepherd to the strength and resilience of the American Bulldog and the gentle yet spirited nature of the American Pit Bull, Rako embodies the very best qualities of each breed.Rako was given a second chance at HSHC after his previous owner decided he needed a little extra TLC in the training department. Now he's on the lookout for someone who believes in him as much as he believes in them. If you've got other doggos in the house, Rako's eager to meet them! He's all about building strong bonds with his pack and becoming the ultimate team player. He passed his cat test here, too, and has done well in playgroups with other dogs.Rako needs a home with adults who can provide the guidance and stability he thrives on. What Rako truly yearns for is a match made in doggy heaven, someone who's ready to invest the same time, effort, and love into him as he's ready to invest in them. So, if you're looking for an adventure buddy, a training partner, and a lifelong friend, look no further - Rako's your guy!-----Adoption Fees & Benefits:Under 1 year: $2001-4 years: $1005-9 years: $5510+ years: $35Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.A "meet and greet" with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Hi, my name is Arlo Guthrie! As you can see from my photo, I have a beautiful jet-black coat and soulful brown eyes. I'm approximately 2 years old and I love going on walks around the neighborhood. The most important things to know about me is that I'm super smart and treat motivated. I would love nothing more than to show you what a good boy I am. I know sit, shake, and come. I'm working on stay, leave it, off, and down. I like to play rough with other dogs, but I guess not all dogs like my style. And I know cats would not, so it's probably good I don't live with any.  Because of my size and playstyle, my foster mom thinks I'd do best with older kids that I can't accidentally knock down. As far as dog friends go, I'd be best matched with a dog of similar size and one who likes to be rowdy.  I'd also be okay if I was the only dog around. I walk pretty good on the leash and don't pull too much after I get over the initial excitement of being OUTSIDE. It seems like just yesterday I was a little puppy, but I'm a full grown, 73 lbs. and my foster mom says I still have some filling out to do.If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Hello meet Arthur I adopted him from the shelter about 2 weeks ago! I have an older dog(female) who he does not get along with at all. I have to keep them both separated. Arthur is looking for a loving home where he would be the only dog as his separation anxiety is horrible and he is very protective of his human. He is a sweetheart and very smart but as I said an only dog home.
