Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. RJ (formerly Angus) is a young dog still displaying a good deal of puppy behavior.  He was found stray and is being fostered in a home near Round Rock, TX, for the Williamson County Animal Shelter. Click here to see the link to his record at their website. The phone number for the shelter is 512-943-3322 if you need additional information on the adoption process. Here is what his foster mom says about him: In addition to being handsome Angus (now known as R.J.) is sweet, affectionate, super smart, food motivated, and athletic. He loves to be near his people including on their laps or on the couch next to them. R.J. has great recall. He is kennel trained, and appears to be house broken, but we take him outside frequently. He was thought to be a border collie mix because of his black and white coloring but Wisdom Panel determined he’s German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees. R.J. is about 1 year old and weighs 52 lbs. but is still very much a puppy. He has the puppy mouthiness at times but can be redirected easily with a treat or a toy. He loves to run and play fetch or, roll around with our “collie ball” in the backyard. He plays by himself with his favorite stuffed otter and has mastered one of our dog puzzles in no time. He knows basic commands of sit & down and is working on wait and spin. There are no issues with baths, brushing or touching his feet. Leash walking is getting better and at times he walks on a loose leash but it’s a work in progress. True to apparently being a herding breed he is on high alert when out on walks. R.J. has many great qualities, and we see him becoming a better house guest daily. He does have a few issues, but he responds well to positive reinforcement and counter conditioning. He was found as a stray on a very busy road. He’s leery of meeting new people but can be won over if that person has treats and tosses him a few. Once he sees he’ll get treats he moves closer and starts to take treats from their hand and wants to be petted. He will need to be introduced to new people and places slowly to make sure he has positive experiences. He does tend to resource guard food and treats when the resident dog is nearby. We toss him a treat, so he’s distracted if we go to pick up one of his high valued chew bones. R.J.’s best forever home would be one that has experience with high energy dogs, understands t he needs of a shy dog and is not away from home for long periods of time. The home should have a large, fenced area for him to run and no young children. R.J. is not the kind of dog that would do well in an apartment or in a home where he’s kenneled for hours. He may do the best as an only dog. He has not been tested with children and has only been tested with our resident senior female border collie. He very curious about her but doesn’t respect her corrections and doesn’t seem to understand dog communication. The best home for this sweet boy is with someone experienced and willing to spend the time training him, so he can conquer is fears of the unknown. A home with older children and where he’s not left alone for long periods of time. He needs someone that treats him with the kindness and patience he deserves to blossom. He has so much potential to become a wonderful companion and friend. If you are interested in knowing more about RJ, please contact his foster mom, Rhoda, at schularick.r@gmail.com. Please note:  RJ has not been around children of any age enough for a determination to be made about how he gets along with children.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 4, 2024, 7:45 am

Story
Jo came to us from another shelter. It is always sad when an older dog comes to us, because they have to adjust to living in a kennel situation and it is terribly confusing for them. Even though she is older she has a lot of energy, and is extremely strong. We have found she walks much better on a gentle leader than a traditional leash. She needs someone with German Shepherd breed experience and allow her time to open up to you and show you her sweet nature. She is new to us, so there are things still unknown as far as her likes and dislikes, she has not been around children yet and would do best in a home without other dogs. She is currently healing from a skin infection, so her haircut is a bit different, but will grow back and she will be even more beautiful than before. Story
Moose is 2 years old. He has alot of energy. He can be a little aggressive and anxious when first meeting people. Moose would prefer a spacious yard and lots of treats. He is better with males then females. He doesn't do well with other animals or children. He very trainable. It just takes a lot of patience.

Story
Introducing Anavah!!!   Anavah is a STUNNING 4 year old AKC German Shepherd. She weighs 80lbs and is spayed, current on vaccines and healthy! German shepherds were bred to work. They have the endurance and intelligence to accomplish many tasks, which is why they are often used in law enforcement, the military, and search and rescue.  They’re also known to be protective, confident, loyal, and brave. They have the ability and desire to learn. Although they also make loving pets, it should never be forgotten that it’s in their nature to live with purpose. German shepherds also have a high prey drive. Although prey drive can vary greatly between each dog, working and sporting breeds have a much higher prey drive than non-working breeds. Because of this, owning and training a German shepherd requires some knowledge of the breed as well as their prey drive. Anavah is a true representation of the breed. She is extremely loyal to her people and in fact is one of the more friendly and confident German shepherds we have met! She is very gentle with children! She does very well meeting strangers! She LOVES her toy balls— any type!   However, true to the breed, she does have prey drive and therefore it is recommended she be the only pet OR share a home with a large breed submissive neutered male dog.  She’s going to do best in a rural environment without close neighbors with pets/farm animals. A securely fenced yard or leash walking only. Experience with the breed is a huge plus. We have had her evaluated by Special O.P.S. K-9 Academy Inc. and their head trainer would be happy to talk to any interested adopter about her! Remember we also have a 2 week foster to adopt trial period to make sure it’s a good fit .  We are so excited to place Anavah in her forever home!!     Spayed, microchipped, heartworm/lyme negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee is $100.    If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application in person or here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet & greet! Any other dogs in the home must come for the meet & greet as well! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day!! We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    Closed Sunday/Thursday    11-4 Saturday/Monday   11-5 Tuesday/Friday    11-6 Wednesday ##2007668##

Story
Hi, I'm Stella! I came to All 4 Animals Rescue with my daughter, Myla. I play with her wonderfully and enjoy her company. I do well being kenneled in my own run next to Myla. Even though she keeps stealing my blankets through the kennel wall, I still love her.  When I'm not playing with Myla, I enjoy playing with my toys and chewing on my bones. I really like learning as well. I've been introduced to clicker training and it's fun! I would absolutely love a home where me and my daughter, Myla, could spend our lives in. We can't wait to meet you!Born 09/01/2017- bonded adoption fee applies- house broken- medium sized at 64lbs (would benefit from losing some weight)- good with older childrenFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org  ##1523216##

Hi, I'm Myla! I came to All 4 Animals Rescue with my mom, Stella. I love my mom and I enjoy playing with her and being around her. I do great being kenneled in my own run next to my mom. I also like to steal my mom's blankets through the kennel wall, more for me! I can be a little anxious at times and I'd love to do some reward-based training to help build my confidence. I've already been introduced to clicker training and I think it's fun! When I'm in my kennel, I do well entertaining myself with my chew bones and toys.
