Story
Jo came to us from another shelter. It is always sad when an older dog comes to us, because they have to adjust to living in a kennel situation and it is terribly confusing for them. Even though she is older she has a lot of energy, and is extremely strong. We have found she walks much better on a gentle leader than a traditional leash. She needs someone with German Shepherd breed experience and allow her time to open up to you and show you her sweet nature. She is new to us, so there are things still unknown as far as her likes and dislikes, she has not been around children yet and would do best in a home without other dogs. She is currently healing from a skin infection, so her haircut is a bit different, but will grow back and she will be even more beautiful than before. DOB 10-8-14 93 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
If you’re looking for a companion Pearl is your girl! Pearl is a sweetheart. She’s smart, caring, and a beautiful dog with a social personality- She’s quick to become your little shadow.  At 2 years old, Pearl is very adaptable, eager to learn and please. She is an extremely affectionate girl who loves giving kisses and hugs. Pearl enjoys going on long walks and playing fetch so she will need to be housed in an active home, preferably with a yard, as one of her other favorite things is laying in the sun with her ball. When you’re ready to relax she is apt to cuddle up with you and will sleep for hours on end. Pearl perfectly house trained and will clearly let you know when it’s time.  Pearl does require a one dog home. If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Hi, I'm Stella! I came to All 4 Animals Rescue with my daughter, Myla. I play with her wonderfully and enjoy her company. I do well being kenneled in my own run next to Myla. Even though she keeps stealing my blankets through the kennel wall, I still love her.  When I'm not playing with Myla, I enjoy playing with my toys and chewing on my bones. I really like learning as well. I've been introduced to clicker training and it's fun! I would absolutely love a home where me and my daughter, Myla, could spend our lives in. We can't wait to meet you!Born 09/01/2017- bonded adoption fee applies- house broken- medium sized at 64lbs (would benefit from losing some weight)- good with older childrenFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org  ##1523216##

Story
This is Chester, 3-year old purebred German Shepherd male. He is neutered and up to date with all shots. Highly trainable with zero health related issues; his hips were x-rayed at a very young age and showed no sign of dysplasia. Chester is quirky and weird. He is often sensitive and shy but has no problems being out in public/social settings with a handler that he trusts and respects. He does not like everyone and he often feels triggered around new people and new settings. On the other side of his introvert character is an intelligent, athletic, and resolutely persistent dog. He enjoys just about everything from playing fetch to exploring hiking trails with the people he loves. Chester needs an experienced handler and/or handlers who can provide upward of 3 hours everyday to care for him and stimulate him mentally/physically. This is a dog for someone who is capable of providing and enforcing rules, routines, and structure consistently on a daily basis.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. RJ (formerly Angus) is a young dog still displaying a good deal of puppy behavior.  He was found stray and is being fostered in a home near Round Rock, TX, for the Williamson County Animal Shelter. Click here to see the link to his record at their website. The phone number for the shelter is 512-943-3322 if you need additional information on the adoption process. Here is what his foster mom says about him: In addition to being handsome Angus (now known as R.J.) is sweet, affectionate, super smart, food motivated, and athletic. He loves to be near his people including on their laps or on the couch next to them. R.J. has great recall. He is kennel trained, and appears to be house broken, but we take him outside frequently. He was thought to be a border collie mix because of his black and white coloring but Wisdom Panel determined he’s German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees. R.J. is about 1 year old and weighs 52 lbs. but is still very much a puppy. He has the puppy mouthiness at times but can be redirected easily with a treat or a toy. He loves to run and play fetch or, roll around with our “collie ball” in the backyard. He plays by himself with his favorite stuffed otter and has mastered one of our dog puzzles in no time. He knows basic commands of sit & down and is working on wait and spin. There are no issues with baths, brushing or touching his feet. Leash walking is getting better and at times he walks on a loose leash but it’s a work in progress. True to apparently being a herding breed he is on high alert when out on walks. R.J. has many great qualities, and we see him becoming a better house guest daily. He does have a few issues, but he responds well to positive reinforcement and counter conditioning. He was found as a stray on a very busy road. He’s leery of meeting new people but can be won over if that person has treats and tosses him a few. Once he sees he’ll get treats he moves closer and starts to take treats from their hand and wants to be petted. He will need to be introduced to new people and places slowly to make sure he has positive experiences. He does tend to resource guard food and treats when the resident dog is nearby. We toss him a treat, so he’s distracted if we go to pick up one of his high valued chew bones. R.J.’s best forever home would be one that has experience with high energy dogs, understands t he needs of a shy dog and is not away from home for long periods of time. The home should have a large, fenced area for him to run and no young children. R.J. is not the kind of dog that would do well in an apartment or in a home where he’s kenneled for hours. He may do the best as an only dog. He has not been tested with children and has only been tested with our resident senior female border collie. He very curious about her but doesn’t respect her corrections and doesn’t seem to understand dog communication. The best home for this sweet boy is with someone experienced and willing to spend the time training him, so he can conquer is fears of the unknown. A home with older children and where he’s not left alone for long periods of time. He needs someone that treats him with the kindness and patience he deserves to blossom. He has so much potential to become a wonderful companion and friend. If you are interested in knowing more about RJ, please contact his foster mom, Rhoda, at schularick.r@gmail.com. Please note:  RJ has not been around children of any age enough for a determination to be made about how he gets along with children.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 4:40 pm
