Story
Ellee is a 6 year old German shepherd. We took her in a few months ago after a family member passed away. Up to date on vaccinations and spayed. She knows basic commands like sit, down, shake, stay, in German and English. She needs to be in a home with someone that has experience with training German shepherds. She’s very smart and loyal. She’s a covid dog and wasn’t socialized well and hasn’t spent much time around kids. She gets anxious around commotion. She’s unsure around new people, especially if they are young. She’s great around adults. She prefers men and likes an alpha personality in an owner. We don’t know how she is around other dogs or animals. She needs to be with a single person or possibly a couple without kids.

Murphey is a sweet vocal dog. He is a 5 1/2 year old liver colored German shepherd. He Loves to be outside and around people and playful with other dogs. He does take medicine for anxiety, but this doesn’t detract from his playful overjoyed personality. Knows multiple commands and loves to cuddle up next to people. Overall great dog. We are looking for someone that has the time to dedicate to him.

Story
One year old Jacob found himself in a Texas shelter with a toe injury. He has recovered well and made his way up to Michigan in search of his forever home. He is all ears and all cute! Jacob gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He is crate and house trained and an all around smart boy, typical of his breed. He is a little shy at first,  but comes right out of his shell after a bit. Because of his shyness, a physical fenced yard  that is higher than 4 feet high is required.  Jacob is 40 lbs (and growing), neutered, up to date in shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. If you have questions about him, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to apply for him, visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org.December 29, 2025, 4:21 pm

Story
Bennie is a one year old German Shepherd mix, weighing about 42 pounds- neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, great on car rides, knows sit, down, shake, and come.Bennie is extremely sweet, and although he loves to play and run, he is also happy cuddling on the couch. He has the playful puppy energy but comes already trained. He would make a great hiking or biking partner and would prefer a home with a fenced yard where he can romp or play. Bennie gets along well with other dogs. He has not been around children or cats, but with his gentle disposition, he would probably do well with children 8 and older and a dog-suave cat.Bennie was found as a stray and was extremely shy. He has come a long way in confidence, but he will need a patient family who continue to socialize and expose Bennie to new things.Bennie's adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Wheeler Wheeler is a male Malinois/Heeler mix DOB: June 11th, 2025 Adoption fee: $150 I was told this is my heritage, maternally, Belgium Malinois and paternally, 50 % Red Heeler/25% Standard Poodle/25% Australian Shepherd mix. I think I am just a very nice young man looking for a family which can’t live without me. I am not fit for apartment life. I would do my best with someone with my breed's characteristics. I may also need more time to acclimate prior to showing my real fun-loving spirit. I am at my adolescent stage and would really benefit from a change of scenery. I am energetic and playful. At times, I can’t get close enough to you. I may think I am a lap dog. I will enjoy daily walks. I would do my best with a routine and basic obedience. I love to run and play. I would absolutely love a physically fenced yard to bury my head in the snow or in your flower garden in the summer months. I may require a fence, pending your previous experience, location and or other plans for containment. I may match with another dog, pending a meet and greet. I should adapt to a dog-friendly cat with a positive introduction. I will do my best with older children. I do have a very full coat and will require regular brushing and possibly grooming a couple of times per year.

Winslow Winslow is a male Malinois/Heeler DOB: June 11th, 2025 Adoption fee: $150 I was told this is my heritage, maternally, Belgium Malinois and paternally, 50 % Red Heeler/25% Standard Poodle/25% Australian Shepherd mix. I think I am just a very nice young man, who can be shy to new people, places, and things. Due to my current behavior, I will require a physical fenced yard. I am not fit for apartment life. I would do my best with someone with my breeds characteristics and is familiar with dogs who might need more time to adapt to a new environment. I am not as energetic as my brothers but could develop more of a zest for play once I have acclimated to my new home. I would enjoy a home with another dog which is looking to mentor a young impressionable pup who just wants to belong. I will seek out more attention and affection from my humans with another dog in my home. My leash walking is coming along. At times, or with new volunteers, I need more encouragement to walk next to or in front of them. I tend to trail behind with less confidence until I become more acclimated to the person. I am a very nice pup. I do have a lot of hair and will need to be brushed or possibly groomed a couple of times a year.

Waverly Waverly is a female Malinois/Heeler mix DOB: June 11th, 2025 Adoption fee: $150 I was told this is my heritage, maternally, Belgium Malinois and paternally, 50 % Red Heeler/25% Standard Poodle/25% Australian Shepherd mix. I think I am just a very nice young lady, who can be shy to new people, places, and things. Due to my current behavior, I will require a physical fenced yard. I am not fit for apartment life. I would do my best with a family experienced with my breeds characteristics. I am hitting my adolescent stage and would really benefit from a change of scenery. A home with a family, older children, less commotion, another dog looking to mentor a young impressionable pup that is eager to follow their lead, would be absolutely perfect for me. I could tolerate a dog-friendly cat, with a slow proper introduction. I am doing better with my leash training. I am not super confident and will walk more behind you than in front or to your side. I am an observer and take my time to work up to affection. I find confidence in having another social dog by my side. I will be medium or on the smaller end of large when fully grown. I have a thick coat and enjoy playing outside. With confidence and training, I will enjoy going for daily walks and playing in the yard.
