Story
Felix is a wonderful family dog, great around kids and chickens. We have had him since he was a puppy but are unable to keep him. He loves the outdoors but does not like delivery drivers surprising him. He has nipped two of them, without breaking the skin, in the past year although we get deliveries almost daily. He is usually friendly with everyone but is a Shepherd and is protective of his family. He has never had any issues with family and friends coming and going or with large gatherings on the property or in the house. A fenced in yard is a must if he is outside by himself. He is house trained but is primarily outside due to allergies. He grew up with 2 other dogs and got along very well with them. Follows basic commands, sit, down, stay, up, 'leave it'. Felix is an easy walker, our 8 year old walks him with no problem!

Story
Shadow was born november 28th 2023, hes not AKC registered, but is a pure german shepherd. Shadow is a very sweet and kind dog, I have 6 children and he loves each of us so much. He gets very defensive around other dogs, but i do believe he can break out of that with more exposure to other dogs. He is high energy, loves to play, super athletic, hes currently 65 lbs, i dont think he will be too big, maybe 80 lbs when hes full grown. He definetley shows the pre cursor signs lf being a protector. Hes got habit of jumping when hes excited. Unfortuantley my son developed a bad dog allergy and we decided to find him another home. I love this dog and it breaks my heart having to part ways with him, he is a true shepherd, loyal as can be, im excited to find someone worthy of this dogs trust.

Story
Hi kind humans! My name is Samira, and I'm a 45-pound, almost 8-month-old female German Shepherd mix searching for my forever home. Even though my life started a bit rough, I enjoy every moment of it! A traumatic experience left me with one eye and a charming underbite, but nothing slows me down. I'm being fostered in Wixom, Michigan.I have a heart of gold and absolutely love cuddles and belly rubs. I'm great with people, love other dogs, and enjoy going on adventures. I’m super active and would be happiest in a home with a fully FENCED-IN YARD to run and play in. Mountain bike rides are a blast, and my long legs and lean frame make me perfect for it! At home, I love hikes and roughhousing with my foster family's puppy. Even though I’m full of energy, I’m calm indoors and love to nap nearby once the fun is over.I’m well-behaved for a young pup—friendly with my puppy buddy and respectful of the senior dog in the house. I haven’t met kids yet, but my foster family thinks I’d be great with them. I’m curious about cats and would probably want to play. I’m housebroken, crate-trained (though I do get anxious when left alone unless I have a dog buddy), and I love car rides. I’ve already mastered sit, lie down and come when called.I’d love to have another playful dog in my future home, but it’s not a must—just a nice-to-have! What I do need is space to burn off my energy.I'm fully vetted and ready to join your family for an adoption fee of $350. If you have any questions, feel free to email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to bring me home? Fill out the adoption application by visiting our website at www.projecthoperescue.org. I can't wait to meet you and start our adventures together!September 7, 2024, 9:43 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Valentine! I'm a 3-year-old female German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix (DNA results are in my photos), weighing 52 pounds, currently being fostered in Redford, MI. I spent a month in a high-kill shelter, terrified and alone, but now I'm ready to find my forever home with a family who will love me for the kind soul that I am.It's suspected that I'm a distemper survivor, which gives me a special quirk—some involuntary muscle movements that make it look like I'm always grooving to my favorite tune. This doesn’t negatively affect me in any way - it just makes me even more unique and cute!I have a laid-back personality with bursts of fun and silliness, and I adore being cuddled and having a dog friend to play with. I adjusted my energy to match the other dogs and cats in my foster home. I haven’t had any exposure, and I think I’d do best with older children, sometimes I get so excited to greet people that I might jump up and give a kiss! I ride well in the car, do fine on a leash, and am very food motivated, so I'd likely excel in training. A fully FENCED-IN YARD would be ideal for me to run and play.I'm full of love and shower everyone I meet—humans, dogs, and cats—with kisses. I have great manners and am completely housebroken. Occasionally, I might pick up something I shouldn’t or do a little counter surfing, but I'm quickly redirected with kind words. I'm not crate-trained, but have never needed one, being trustworthy both at night and when alone at home.I'm fully-vetted and ready to come home with you for an adoption fee of $300. Questions about me or if you think you could be my forever home, email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. to get answers to your questions or to request an adoption application, I'd love to meet you and shower you with love and kisses!September 7, 2024, 9:43 pm

Story
Hi! I’m King, the 5 month-old pup, 37lb male German Shepherd/Hound mix and I might be missing a leg, but I don’t let that slow me down! I was saved from the euthanasia list just in the nick of time! I’ve adjusted amazingly to life with three legs - you should see me play! At first, I can be a little shy, but once I warm up, I’m all in! I’m being fostered in Albion, Michigan.I really, really love other dogs—I can’t help but pester them until they play with me! Cats, on the other hand, are still a bit of a mystery. I’ve learned to be respectful towards them, even if they don’t always want to be my friends.I have one blue eye, and I use it to give you a look that says, 'Hey, can I have a treat?' or 'Why won’t the cats play with me?' I absolutely adore kids! I’m working hard on my potty-training, and I’m getting better every day. I try so hard to be a good boy, and I know I’ll make a loyal partner for someone special. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and playful companion, I’m your guy! I’m fully-vetted, microchipped and ready to join your family for an adoption fee of $350. Questions about me? Please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to make it official? Story
Hi! I'm Doug, I'm 4 years old and I can't wait to find my forever home. My foster family had a wonderful time with me and had some great things to say. They said I'm a delightful dog and I have to agree!  I'm proud to say I seem to be potty trained—I didn't have any accidents and always signaled at the door when I needed to go out. Even though my foster family are late risers, I waited patiently until they were ready to take me outside. I absolutely adore people and love showing my affection by leaning against your leg without jumping up. During our neighborhood walks, I seemed eager to play with other dogs, although  my last shelter mentioned I don’t always get along with them. So, if you have another dog, a meet and greet would be a good idea to make sure we’re a good match. They also suggested I'd be happiest with a large yard to play in. And guess what? I didn’t even bark once during my stay! My foster family has two cats, and while I was curious about them, we didn’t have any direct interactions but I think with time, we’d get along just fine. I really prefer human company and can get a bit lonely in a kennel, often whining and crying because I miss you. I have a blast playing with my stuffies and a ball, and I'm looking for a cuddly, cheerful, and low-maintenance companion just like me. If you love sharing a bed and want a loyal friend, I'm your perfect match. Adopt me, and let's make wonderful memories together! *Just a heads up, the way I behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how I'll act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just the observations from my time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2062827##

Story
Hello! My name is Lotto, and I'm a 4.5-year-old gentle giant looking for my forever home. Let me tell you a little bit about myself!First things first, I'm a total sweetheart. I absolutely love snuggling up with my humans, and I promise to give the best cuddles you've ever had. I may look big and strong, but deep down, I'm just a big softie who adores affection. Now, I'll be honest with you – I can be a bit of a scaredy-cat sometimes. Loud noises or sudden movements can startle me, but don't worry, I just need a little time to recover and reassure myself that everything's okay. Once I feel safe again, I'm back to my happy, playful self!  I have to admit that I can feel a bit nervous around children. They're just so unpredictable, you know? But with a patient and understanding family, I'm sure I'll learn to feel more comfortable around them too. One thing I absolutely adore is going for walks and spending time outdoors. Whether it's exploring new trails or just playing fetch in the backyard, I'm always up for an adventure. So, if you're an active family looking for a furry companion to join you on your outdoor escapades, I'm your guy! If you're searching for a sweet, snuggly pup to add to your family, look no further – I'm Lotto, and I can't wait to meet you! *Just a heads up, the way I behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how I'll act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just the observations from my time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##1767878##
