Story
My name is JUSTICE!! So nice to meet you. I am a German Shepherd mix and I`m approximately 8 years old. I am a very good girl and I am very gentle and loving. I would absolutely love for someone who has time to devote to teaching me new tricks. I`m just starting to learn how to sit but I will get it in no time! I don`t really seem to have a favorite treat yet, but you never know.... you could find my perfect one!I would do best in a loving home with no young children, only because i`m a bit older and need more quiet surroundings and less noises as loud noises seem to make me nervous. I rarely bark, but I do howl sometimes when I`m lonely. A fenced in yard would work better for me, but I do seem to get along well with other dogs. If there are other pets in the home, i would love to meet them first to see if we would be a good match. The nice people at the shelter will help with our meet and greets!I would really benefit from some basic obedience training to learn how to sit, shaike and lay down, but I walk very nicely on a leash here for all my friends that take care of me. I MAY be mixed with some husky so a person experienced with both German Shepherds and Siberian Huskies would be terrific as I will need plenty of exercise to keep my mind and body healthy. My new home will not be able to have any cats, unfortunately, so the only other pets can be dogs, just like me.I will make a very good addition to your life and can`t wait to find my new best friends. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationMy adoption fee is $150

Story
Meet Millie, she’s such a gorgeous girl! She is very smart and highly trainable. She loves attention and loves to be with her people. She has lots of energy and needs a family that also has the time and energy to fulfill her needs for exercise and mental stimulation so she can be a happy and balanced pup. She is about a year old and was to be euthanized by previous owners bc they just didn’t want her anymore (I know selfish right) She’s is wonderful. She is also learning where to go potty and not do it inside. She was kept outside in a 10x 10 kennel and was pretty thin and covered with fly bites on her ears and fleas as well. She’s recovering from that very well and loves the extra groceries she’s getting. She can and will Jump a four foot fence but has not tried a five foot fence. If you should happen to leave the yard area she may try to get out to be with you. She’s not trying to run away she is trying to get to you. She doesn’t really have separation anxiety but she does not like to be left alone in the yard. She does great in her crate/kennel at night and will hold it to potty in the morning. She loves other dogs and is pretty pushy in an obnoxious way with other dogs like she doesn’t know her manners but she is learning with our pack.. Our pack is teaching her how to play and engage properly as a dog. She is a middle of the pack/ front of the pack type of dog. She’s not too confident that she is dominant and she is not shy and timid or fearful. She can be a tad shy at first with people but she’s pretty confident with other dogs. meet but warms up within minutes. Located East TN, out of state welcomed transport available to your area and is included on the adoption fee listed here in Adopt a pet. We use rescue riders for our pet transports because they have been great with our babies. Apply at petpath.org

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41) completely. This must be in a .jpeg format. If you are unable to send in this format, please be prepared to provide this documentation in another way prior to adoption.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other dogs/cats. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
