Gretchen has clearly spent her life being someone’s loyal companion, and she’s ready to be that special friend again for a lucky adopter.Like many senior shepherds, Gretchen has a little stiffness in her hips, but it certainly doesn’t slow her spirit. She can still get around just fine and enjoys taking relaxed strolls and exploring the yard. Once she warms up, she’ll even break into a playful trot when she sees another dog who wants to be friends. Gretchen absolutely loves the company of other dogs and seems happiest when she has a buddy to share her space and toys with.Despite her age, Gretchen still has a playful side that pops out in the cutest ways. Almond is my sweet, loving dog, and I got her from a Detroit Animal and Friends event last March. She’s about two years old and full of energy, especially when it comes to long walks and playtime. At the dog park, she shows off her cool trick by jumping right over other dogs, which always makes me laugh. She’s very easy to train, already potty trained and cage trained, which makes her such a smart and well-behaved girl. Even though she’s energetic outside, she really values her privacy at home and is usually tucked under my bed where she feels safe. She loves to sleep with you and be close, but she can be a little shy at first. One of the cutest things about her is that she loves to watch Bluey like it’s her favorite show. Almond has such a gentle heart, so make sure to show her lots of loves my Almond truly deserves it. She’s an Almond Joy!!
