Story
Chip is an eager-to-please pup who's ready to find his perfect match. His boundless enthusiasm makes him a star in training-he's already completed the puppy training program through Courteous K9! Chip thrives when he's active, whether it's going on adventures, learning new tricks, or just being your loyal sidekick. When he's not on the move, Chip loves to snuggle up by your side or follow you around the house, proving he's just as much a cuddler as he is a go-getter. He does well when left at home on his own but would truly shine with an active owner who can match his energy and help him channel it positively. As a German Shepherd, Chip would do best with someone who has experience with the breed or similar breeds and understands their need for both physical and mental stimulation. If you're looking for a motivated, loving companion who will keep you moving and melt your heart, Chip is your guy! Chip needs to go to a home with no children Adoption fee is $350+ tax; please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Meet Claire, a sweet young girl who came to us from a valued rescue partner. Claire found herself out on her own at a South Dakota reservation. When the big dogs started to pick on her, the rescuers decided it was time to scoop her up. Claire is estimated to be about a year old. She definitely still has some puppy behaviors and is learning to walk on a leash. Claire is so affectionate and loves being around people and does well with other dogs. We think she would fit into just about any family. Maybe yours?Adoption fee $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Meet Lucy and Ricky! (They need to be adopted together)This adorable bonded pair has been with each other through thick and thin. They originally came to PCHS back in 2021 and were here for a few months and were adopted. After 4 and half years they found their way back to us through no fault of their own. Their family was moving to an assisted living program and could not take the dogs with. Understandably, they are a bit unsure being back in shelter but they are adjusting quickly. We are hoping their stay with us can be short. They enjoy going out for walks, getting attention and chilling on a nice comfy dog bed. They have lived with cats and have done well with them. Not only are they cat friendly, but they are used to be around kids from ages 2-12 years. These two would make a great addition to almost any household. *Ricky does have an old injury to his hip/tail so he walks with a bit of a `hitch` in his step but it does not seem to cause pain. He has had this since he was under a year old and has been doing well, he just walks a little `funny`.If this bonded pair sounds like a good match for you, apply online today!Adoption fee for the pair is $300 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

Story
Meet Donna. Donna came to PCHS, along with her friend Sophie, from a valued rescue partner. These two ladies were part of a neglect case and were seized from their owner. They have lived their whole lives in small shacks/sheds giving birth to litter after litter. But thankfully, all that is behind them now!Donna is the slightly more outgoing one between the two and she enjoys the company of people. She warms up to new people very quickly and has been enjoying some walks with the staff and volunteers. She is estimated to be around 4 years old and being a German Shepherd, she is a big girl. Donna would benefit from a home that has German Shepherd experience or working dog experience to be sure she is set up for success.Donna is still learning what it means to be a dog but she is catching on very quickly! She enjoys cuddling up on her blankets in her kennel, having stable access to delicious food, and playing with some toys! She would thrive in a home where her family can continue to show her all the good things life has to offer. Do you think that home could be you? Apply online today!***NOTE: Donna can climb 6 foot fences***Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Thanks for the details! Based on this, we can craft a blog post that highlights Gunner's unique personality and his need for a loving home. Here’s a draft: --- Meet Gunner: Your New Best Friend in Need of a Loving Home If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, meet Gunner, a sweet and loving German Shepherd mix. Gunner is in search of a new family to call his own, and he's ready to show you just how much love he has to give. Gunner's Personality Gunner is a friendly, affectionate dog who thrives on attention and love. He's a true "clingy" companion who will always want to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or out for a walk, Gunner will happily keep you company, giving you all the loyalty and affection he can muster. While Gunner is generally warm and loving, he does need time to adjust to new people and situations. Once he’s comfortable, though, you'll have a devoted companion who’s always there when you need him. A Few Quirks to Know About Gunner Like many dogs, Gunner has some quirks that make him all the more endearing: Sleep Startling: Gunner may startle when he's waking up or while he's asleep, so it’s important to approach him gently if he’s napping. Howling: Gunner may occasionally let out a howl, which is part of his personality and could be his way of expressing excitement or alerting you to something. Dog Selective: While Gunner loves people, he can be a bit selective about other dogs. He'd do best in a home where he's the only dog or with a dog he gets along with well. No Cats, Please: Unfortunately, Gunner doesn't get along with cats, so he needs a home where there aren't any feline friends. Gunner's Story Before arriving at the rescue, Gunner lived in a loving home where he was pampered and cared for. Unfortunately, due to his sleep-startling behavior and a baby on the way, his family made the difficult decision to rehome him to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved. Why Gunner Needs You Gunner is a sweet, loving dog who just needs time and patience to adjust to new surroundings. His affectionate nature makes him a great companion for someone who’s willing to take the time to build trust and form a deep bond. Gunner deserves a home where he can feel safe and cherished, and he has a lot of love to give to the right family. If you're looking for a dog who will give you endless affection and loyalty, Gunner might be the perfect fit for you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this loving pup.
