Story
Meet Callie,This ball of energy is just waiting for her forever home. Callie is still a puppy and is currently working on learning her commands and doing very well! She is just so eager to please. She is very new to us at the ranch, so we have not been able to test her temperament with other dogs, but when she is around them, she is highly curious. A meet and greet is required for any other dog in the home to make sure they get along.Callie is at our main location (Ranch) and is available to meet/adopt Wednesday-Sunday from 11am-3pm

Story
Meet Mack! Mack can be a little shy when meeting new people but once he opens up he is this biggest sweetheart! He is super playful, full of energy and loves going on walks. He is very strong on a leash so he would need to go to a home that could him. Mack does great with kids and, but gets nervous around new dogs, so a meet and greet is necessary with other dogs in the home. Mack has shown barrier reactivity here at the shelter, so we do not know if that would continue in a home environment. Mack can be seen at our main ranch or email dogswmr@gmail.com for more information.

Story
Meet Tucker! This boy has had quite a journey and is now ready for a calm place to rest his head. Tucker was adopted out from us a few years ago and was recently found running loose in Illinois with his sister Dutchess. They have made their way back to us and have been medically cleared for adoption.Tucker is a gentle soul, he is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. He does well on a leash but he does have some escape artist tendencies so he will need a secure yard in his future home. Tucker does well with other dogs of all sizes but he can be possessive of his food so he will need to be fed in a separate room from other dogs in the home. Tucker is at our main ranch location!Watermelon Mountain Ranch(Across from Cleveland High School)3251 Westphalia Blvd. NERio Rancho, NM 87144505-221-2359Wed-Sun 11am-4pm(adoptions and tours until 3pm)

Story
Meet Vera! This sweet girl has had a rough start to life but she has remained optimistic through all of it. Vera was found running around our property emaciated and covered in ticks, our team was able to catch her and slowly began nursing her back to health. She underwent her spay surgery and our team quickly noticed that she was experiencing some bleeding. After a trip to the ER and a blood transfusion, Vera was able to recover in a foster home. Now Vera is ready to go and eagerly waiting for her forever family to arrive. Vera has shown that she is curious about other dogs but she is still working on proper play manners. She is quite curious about her surroundings so a secure yard is a must. Vera is at our main ranch location!Watermelon Mountain Ranch(Across from Cleveland High School)3251 Westphalia Blvd. NERio Rancho, NM 87144Wed-Sun 11am-4pm(adoptions and tours until 3pm)

Story
This handsome gentleman is named Bear. He’s an 8-year-old neutered German Shepherd looking for a permanent home to share his love and lay his head at night. We were told that Bear and his brother originally belonged to a woman who passed away, but since then, they have been shuffled around several times. Bear has a sweet temperament and loves being with people—he leans in and loves head scratches, treats, and a soft bed to sleep on. He’s house-trained, knows commands, is quickly obedient, and walks extremely well on leash. He enjoys a gentle game of fetch and makes his own game of chasing birds, which is funny to watch! He may have been through some scary events with people because he’ll duck if someone raises a hand quickly, but despite what’s happened, he’s a trusting boy. He was pretty skinny, but has been filling out, and his fur has become smooth and shiny. Bear absolutely loves walks, which will help him stay limber, but he has a bit of arthritis, so his walks shouldn’t be more than 15 to 20 minutes; definitely no long hikes. Bear would be an ideal companion for a family with older children or senior adults since he’s so gentle. He does well with small female dogs, but we don’t know about small children or cats. We don’t know how he gets along with other male dogs, so a meet-and-greet with any potential dog housemates is a must. Is your heart melting yet? Please consider opening your heart and home to this wonderful boy! If you're interested in meeting Bear, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm at 6300 San Mateo NE, in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Bear into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers all vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm/tick-borne illness testing.
