Story
Karla is a 5 year old, black German Shepherd mix. She is exceptionally smart and does amazingly well with her training. Karla will need a kind, committed, confident and active person who can channel her energy and drive and allow her to be the magnificent friend we know she is. She is a lean 50 pounds. Here is the tricky part - Karla does not like strangers, and sometimes other dogs. Karla takes a long time to warm up, and as such she cannot go home with just anyone. She is protective of her people, so she will need a home where this is respected. An experienced dog owner is a must. Shepherd experience is a plus. If you are interested in meeting this wonderful dog (she really is a sweetheart once she knows you!), please fill out an adoption application. Karla had a DNA test and she is: 46% German Shepherd Dog 32% American Pit Bull Terrier 9% Rottweiler 5% Dalmatian 4% American Staffordshire Terrier 2% White Swiss Shepherd 1% Belgian Sheepdog 1% Bohemian Shepherd Dog Karla is housetrained!

Meet Hobbes, a 3-month-old shepherd mix who perfectly balances playful puppy energy with a sweet, thoughtful side ❄️🐕 Hobbes is curious, affectionate, and loves soaking up attention from his people. He enjoys playtime with toys and other pups, but he’s just as happy hanging out and watching the world go by. His gentle nature paired with his young age makes him a wonderful candidate for training, bonding, and growing into a devoted lifelong companion. Hobbes is ready to learn, ready to love, and ready to be someone’s best friend. Hobbes will be available for adoption beginning Tuesday 12/16, and he’s searching for a family excited to guide him through puppyhood and beyond. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal pup to grow alongside your family, Hobbes may be the perfect fit. Interested in meeting Hobbes? Head to happylifeanimalrescue.org to register for adoption. Story
Bonded pair Junebug & Basil came into Rescue 12/26/24 after spending a month living outside in their fenced yard after their mom was taken away in an ambulance and hospitalized long term. This duo is completely devoted to their person and wants nothing more than to be by their side, getting petting, giving kisses, and endlessly wagging their tails. Junebug is the social butterfly of the two and does wonderfully in any type of setting such as walking busy streets, going into Coffee houses, sitting beside you at restaurants, or even participating in local races and obstacle course events. Basil is more about being on guard and letting you know when things are going on in the yard or passing by the house. They are the perfect pair completely taking care of you and whatever your needs are. Bonded pairs are like adopting one really great dog… they complement each other and keep each other secure and happy making your job as a dog owner so much easier. These girls walk wonderfully on a leash and love a daily walk. They do not pull. They currently live in a large foster home with many other dogs and they enjoy playing with the other dogs, but at the end of the day, they snuggle up with the Foster mom and sleep next to her. Bonded dogs are harder to get adopted… when everybody meets these two, they can’t believe they are still in Rescue, including the vet that does their exams. She said they would be the best Dogs for anybody to adopt. They are the perfect size at 35 pounds each and they love to go for car rides and just be part of whatever you do. Fenced yard required so they do not adventure around. If you would like a fun pair that make you feel like the most loved person ever, contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application.
