Story
Bailey was about a year old when she was rescued from an unhealthy environment. She is now 8 yrs old. She loves to run outside and chase squirrels. In the house she is a good watch dog and will bark at any sounds she hears outside which is usually people walking past or someone who is in the driveway. She is not a picky eater and eats dry dog food. She is a gentle dog who loves to be petted and bushed. She likes to lay down near people. She has a great smile! I would love to see her have a home in the country or at least a fenced in yard where she has room to run and play with children.

Story
I am Cocoa, a 4 year old German Shepherd. I was brought into The Shelter in September of 2025 because I was not treated well by my previous family. I am very social and friendly; I like my belly rubbed and to play fetch- my favorite toy is a squeaky ball. I am very smart and learn quickly and have been working on some basic commands and walking on a leash here. I like playing with other dogs and have some friends here, but for some other dogs my energy can be a lot, although I am good about entertaining myself and backing off If another dog asks for space. I will need to be in a home where I can have plenty of exercise and fresh air with someone that has experience with my breed. I am very strong and don't know I don't fit in your lap, so I would not do well in a home with children under 10 years old.

Story
Meet Sasha! 🌟 At just 3 years old, Sasha has already overcome so much. She was picked up by Franklin County in April after being hit by a car on I-670, suffering pelvic and hip fractures. But this brave girl didn’t let that stop her! 💪🐾 She’s fully healed and runs, plays, and enjoys life to the fullest. Sasha’s a spayed German Shepherd with a big heart and a big personality. She’s smart, protective, sometimes silly — and absolutely devoted once she bonds with you. She loves a good game of tug, chasing Jolly balls, and keeping watch over her yard like a true Shepherd queen. 👑 Her foster mom says Sasha has come a long way with patience, structure, and training. She’s working with trainer and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She needs someone experienced who understands the strong, loyal spirit of a GSD. ✅ Crate trained ✅ Great in the yard with a secure fence ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and hilarious once she trusts you 🚫 Best in a home without small kids or small animals Sasha’s perfect match? Someone who loves the Shepherd energy — confident, consistent, and committed to her continued growth. 🐕‍🦺💛 Trainer Brian has even offered to help with her transition and continued training for her adopter! If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal companion who’ll give you her all, Sasha is waiting. 🏡💖

Story
Chickpea came to us along with her littermates, and is ready to find her furever home. Chickpea and her siblings seem to be pretty undersocialized, and can be nervous in new places and with new people. But Chickpea is making lots of progress, and gains a little more confidence every day! She is looking for a family that will be understanding and patient, and give her the time to blossom. As with any puppy, Chickpea is going to require training and socialization to set her up for a lifetime of success. Chickpea is very young and still growing, we are not sure how big she will get however we expect her to be large and 50-60lbs or more as an adult. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Chickpea home. If you are interested in meeting Chickpea, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: Black Weight: 27 Age: 0yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
Meet Costata! This sweet little girl recently came to us as a stray, and we are still getting to know her. Costata is a shy girl and i quite nervous in the chaotic shelter environment. Her ideal home will give her the time and space to open up as she decompresses from her shelter stay. Costata has done okay with other dogs. She may take a little time to warm up, but once she is comfortable with you she is the sweetest girl that will follow you everywhere! If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Costata home. If you are interested in meeting Costata, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
