Story
Willow is dog friendly, loves little kids, and though she has never met a cat we think she would do well! She is nearly fully potty trained and learns a routine quickly. She takes a minute to warm up to new people but once she does, she is very playful and loves attention. ##1416003##

Story
Jasmine came in to our shelter as a stray and was actually on her own for approximately three weeks before we were able to catch her. She has always been weary and fearful of people, which made it difficult for our staff or members of the public to gain her trust. Since having her in our care she has made very slow progress, but she does continue to be very shut down and fearful of people. She is not a typically outgoing or people oriented type of dog. Members of the public who observed her behavior in the field noted that she liked to jump into neighboring backyards to play with their dogs and steal their plush toys, but as soon as she would spot a person approaching, she would jump over their fence and retreat to wherever she felt safest. From the beginning of her stay with us, because she has not had the proper socialization with people for some time, she has remained in a state of either `flight`, or `freeze`. So what does that mean for a potential adopter?1.We recommend that she live in a household with another dog. It would benefit her to learn social ques from another dog, as well as form a connection to another dog for security. We think she would best match with a dog who will be social and friendly with her without overwhelming her or scare her. 2.She will require secure fencing, as well as leash walking and outside time fully supervised. She has been, and is currently a flight risk; meaning that for the foreseeable future, she will always need supervision on a leash when outside. She will jump fences, and escape immediately given the chance. 3.She would do best in a home without small children. Because she is, at least currently, in such a fearful/anxious/frozen state, she will thrive best in a less chaotic home where she can be given the time and space to decompress and begin to learn how to be a pet dog. 4.We recommend that in any potential new home, she have her own personal kennel for quiet time. Here at the shelter she is exposed to staff throughout the day, but when she feels that she`s had enough, she likes to tell us by removing herself from the environment to retreat to the safe space of her kennel, which is in a quiet, dimly lit room. She will need someone who can understand that she will not warm to new people or a new environment right away. She is and will continue to be a work in progress & her journey will be one of the most rewarding for the right person.

Story
Meet Snuggles Friday! Snuggles lives up to her name, she is a snuggle bug, and such a beauty! Snuggles was born on May 31 of this year. At nine weeks she weighed 15.8 pounds. This girl will be a large adult probably between 60 and 80, pounds or larger. Snuggles has been raised with her littermates and her mama. Her mother is a purebred German Shepherd, and we think her dad is a German Shepherd and husky mix. Snuggles is ready for her at forever home, and we are so excited for her! Interested in becoming a forever home for Snuggles? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Snuggles. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Snuggles the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
