Story
Name: Griffin Breed: GSD Age/Sex: 10/7/2017/MN Known health issues: Seasonal Allergies, Addisons Disease Good with: Most dogs NO CATS. NO KIDS. NO DOG PARKS. Adult only home. Bite history: Yes Griffin is one of the biggest goofballs to come through Inugoya. He is definitely the class clown, and enjoys making you laugh! He is confident, sassy, and opinionated, but also incredibly sweet, endearing, and affectionate. Griffin is not an easy dog; he has behavioural management needs, anxiety issues, and has been recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease (Feb 2024). But none of this stops his zest for life! Even with his challenges, he is one of my absolute favourites, and a dog that I can always rely on. He is very environmentally confident, and easy to take everywhere. Once you have his trust and bond, his eyes are solely for you. Griffin is a very active boy, and loves to go on adventures. Hiking, swimming, running; he's your guy! He's dabbled in agility and lure coursing, and enjoys a game of fetch. He does get easily bored, and likes to keep things changed up and interesting. Griffin is a very vocal guy, and will tell you stories for days. He has excellent manners, lots of basic obedience skills under his belt, and is good for the vet and groomer. He is muzzle trained for times when needed. He is not oversized, and a perfect travel buddy. He can be picky with some dogs, but gets along with most of the foster crew here, both male and female. He however isn't looking for a doggie social circle, he wants to be with his person, and would be absolutely fine solo. Griffin is one of our longest rescue residents. He arrived Feb 2020, and has been waiting for his forever family to find him, ever since. He is a boy with extra challenges, but he is the most amazing, devoted soul. If you are Shepherd experienced, and are looking for a truly special guy, please consider Griffin ❤️ ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Atlas Breed: German Shepherd Dog Sex/DOB: MN 2/22/22 Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Confident, calm dogs. Patient Teenagers, that can actively participate in his training, may be okay. Dog savvy cats and 110% commitment to training if he is to live with cats. He is very determined in his play. NO DOG PARKS. Atlas is a young dog that arrived with a broken soul. He was absolutely terrified of everything, and was extremely shut down. He is relearning everything from scratch, and though he is a large, adolescent puppy, his mentality and experience have him much younger in development. Atlas is really starting to come into his own, and I am excited for him to discover who he really is. He LOVES water and is already swimming and retrieving like a champ! He is very high energy, loves to run and chase, and is gaining his environmental confidence everyday. He is a LOT of dog, and it's all starting to burst out! He is toy and praise motivated, with moderate food drive. I expect him to increase in his demand and desire to work, as he continues to gain confidence in the world. Atlas was initially terrified of other dogs. He now enjoys their company, and is learning to play appropriately. He is a bit of a bully, and will pick on soft dogs. He has an energy that not everyone enjoys. He does benefit from having a canine companion, BUT it has to be the right match. I am hesitant to place with cats, as he is very forward and I do not want to see any injuries occur. With the right home, and level of training, it may be possible. Due to his discomfort with new people, his successful adopters must be willing to meet him several times, before he will be potentially ready to leave. Patience, and time are key. He has made great strides, but change will be hard for him if that bond isn't there. I do not want to see him regress. His successful home must be committed to continuing his confidence building, and expanding his world and activities so that he can be his absolute best! Atlas is fantastic in his crate, and good in the house. He is learning about the leash, and getting more confident on car rides. He is VERY loud when he wants to be and is not a dog that would handle living in a busy city. He will need a home that has a safe, securely fenced area. He is learning about grooming, and getting better with nail trims. Patience is key! Atlas is absolutely FULL of potential, and I can see him doing well in a wide variety of sport activities as he continues to gain confidence. If you're up for the challenge, and Atlas has caught your eye, please message for an application to start the process! ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Storm Breed: GSD Sex/DOB: FS 10/26/19 Known Health Issues: None at this time Good With: Dogs. Cats possibly okay with training. Patient and calm persons, who respect boundaries. No kids. Patient, dog savvy teens will be considered. NO DOG PARKS. Storm is now accepting applications! Storm is not an easy girl, and is looking for a very specific home. She has spent a significant amount of time at the rescue working on basic life skills that come easily to most dogs. She has made several breakthroughs in the past few months, and I am now comfortable to start more formally searching for her forever home. Storm is a very soft dog, and needs a lot of time, space, and patience. What she doesn't need is coddling, and someone to trap her in her past. Her successful adopter must be dedicated to continuing to work with her, expanding her world slowly, but consistently, and giving her life skills to build upon. If your first instinct is to feel sorry for her, she is not the dog for you. Storm absolutely thrives with other dogs, so much so, that it is a requirement to have another dog to adopt her. She will look to them for guidance, confidence, and direction. She gets along with most other dogs, with some selectivity with certain females. Care must be taken, to make sure she is still worked independently of the other dog, to prevent separation anxiety, and littermate syndrome issues. Storm loves the outdoors! Once she is comfortable in a space, she shines. She runs, and plays, and leaps for joy! Due to her personality, she is a significant flight risk initially, and needs a secure, fully fenced backyard to access. She will happily spend her days out in the yard, especially if you are out with her. Storm is incredibly goofy, and loves to make you laugh. Her favourite item is her food dish, and she can often be found carrying around, or just laying and holding it! Sturdy dishes recommended! She has the warmest personality, which she reserves for her special person. She's not looking to have a large social circle, so a quiet home, without many visitors suits her best. She wants to be your one and only. Storm would love to dabble in some backyard sport activities to help her confidence grow. With enough time and patience, she may even do well at events, but time will tell. She is toy motivated, and loves to retrieve. If she sees another dog performing a task and getting rewarded, she is very quick to imitate! Her food drive is low, but could built. She'd rather work for your praise! If you think you have the time, pateince, and dedication for my special girl, please send in an application. She will require several meets, before she would be ready to potentially move out. Story
Name: Nellie DOB/Sex: 5/3/23 FS Breed: GSDx Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good with: Dogs! Cats with proper training! Kids with proper boundaries! Little Nellie is a pint sized bundle of fun! She was sold to her previous owners as a single breed, but I'd bet good money she has something else mixed in. She is very small, and very finely boned. But she has a big personality! Nellie arrived at Inugoya towards the end of 2023. She was underweight at the time, but upping her caloric intake has done the trick, and she's filled out nicely. She'll always be lithe, but she's developed some nice muscling. Nellie gains confidence well, and is very excited to engage with new things. A little patience goes a long way! She has a very 'in your pocket' personality, and wants to be with her person, and work! She has started in an agility foundations class and loves it! She is a soft dog, which makes her very responsive to body pressure, and easy to guide. She is very engaged with her handler, and works well around distractions. She appreciates her space being advocated for, and does not like strange dogs approaching uninvited, and will look to her handler for guidance. It is important that her person be willing to intervene, as she is currently very neutral, and failure to do so, will lead her down the reactive path. Nellie has already taken a dip in the canal, and proven to be a swimmer! Even though it's not exactly swim season 🤣 I can definitely see some dock jumping in her future. She loves to run, leap, and chase, and would be suitable for just about any canine sport (not a bitework candidate). She is a super fun little dog, oozing a ton of potential, and raring to go! All vetting has been completed. She is in fantastic shape, and ready to go! Let's get her home 😊 Application: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Doubloons Breed: GSD x Farm Dog Mix DOB/Sex: Dec 22, 2023/M Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Cats! Dogs! Kids! NO DOG PARKS Doubloons is one of 8 puppies born on a farm. He was surrendered with his mom, Bounty (small GSD), at 6 weeks of age. Doubloons is a little firecracker! He is sassy, and opinionated, but has a wonderful sweet side. He is easily a favourite, and always makes himself front and center. He's up for attention and cuddles, but also loves to run and explore! Doubloons is incredibly handsome and he knows it! He will throw his good looks around to get his way, and is looking for a partner to guide him with training, so he can be the best version of himself he can be! He engages well, and is so excited to learn about the world around him. He wants to be where the action is at! Doubloons is generally aloof with strangers, and is not the type of dog that wants a bunch of people randomly running up and petting him like a golden retriever. But as long as he is well advocated for, he's easy to take out and about in the world! He is looking for a handler that is going to continue to build his confidence, and give him lots of opportunities to explore the world! He would pair well with a fun-loving canine partner, or is able to go solo. He has not yet met cats yet, but with proper introductions and training will be just fine. Kids welcome with boundaries and rules in place. His successful adopter must be willing to bring him in for his neuter to our vet in St Catharines. This is included with his adoption. He is trying hard to win my heart, but I know his forever family is out there! If this little cutie has caught your eye, please apply today! She was surrendered with her mom, Bounty (small GSD), at 6 weeks of age. Fathom is the sweetest, most precious girl. She's has the innocence and softness that makes you just want to scoop her up, and protect her from the world. But there's a firey spark in their too, so don't let her completely fool you! Fathom spends her days wrestling with her sibblings, checking out new adventures, and snuggling into me any chance she gets. She is slower to explore new things, and appreciates patience and guidance. Once comfortable, she doesn't hold back, and has a blast! Fathom is moderately food motivated, but does have a slight tendancy to guard high value items from her siblings. Proper management will be important as she matures, to make sure boundaries are established and enforced. She would pair well with a fun-loving canine partner, or is able to go solo. She has not yet met cats yet, but with proper introductions and training will be just fine. As she is a softer girl, older kids, that understand boundaries, and canine body language are best suited.
