Story
Kona is a 7 year old, 70 lb Shepherd mix and a shelter employee and volunteer favorite! This big girl has got personality! A lover of long walks, hikes, and treatos! She`ll give a paw or two for cookies. She loves everyone she meets and shes easy on the eyes.So what`s the catch? Why do dogs like Kona get overlooked? With great personality comes quirks sometimes. For Kona, it`s resource guarding. Simply put, in the past when she has decided something is hers... she has defended her ownership of it fiercely. Whether it be high value objects or food items.https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogsGriffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond RdSouth Abington Twp Pa 18411 Kennel License #2236That said, she has received some training to work with her resource guarding but would need to be continued in a new home. Her daily dog walkers speak volumes of her as being the easiest dog to walk in the entire kennel. As well as most affectionate! But remember , this is a controlled environment . She needs the same structure and routine in a home.Because of her past resource guarding, she would do best in a low traffic home without young children or other pets. Someone who has experience with canine resource guarding or can provide training for her would be of most benefit to her in a new home. Please give Kona the chance she deserves.

Story
Hello, my name is Hiccup. I was named after How To Train Your Dragon. I am a pure bred. My birthday is March 28, 2023. I am a Make a Wish puppy. I am very energetic. I love to play ball and I am a sucker to chase a laser pointer. I am a great guard dog to my current family. I have done some training. I know sit, down, place, wait, leave it, take and paw. When its time for dinner. I am told Avengers assemble and I will sit next to bowl till Im told to yes, take it. I am crate trained and do sleep in my crate at night. I am not too good with cats. I think they are toys and get too rough Im told. I love car rides. I walk on a gentle lead with some pulling at first. I do need some more training. I come with my crate, toys, bathing needs, food, and food stand. Everything my current owner has if you need. I am a handsome, sweet love bug. I need to be rehomed due to health issues with my family. They cant give me the exercise I so need.

Meet Carley – Smart, Loyal & Tennis Ball Obsessed! Carley is a beautiful shepherd mix with a big heart and a serious love for her tennis balls — she loves, loves, loves to play! She’s house-trained, well-mannered in the home, and does well with other dogs and older children. Smart and eager to please, Carley thrives with structure and confident leadership. She can be a little unsure in new situations, so she’ll do best with an experienced dog person who understands larger breeds and can help her continue building confidence. In return, Carley will give you loyalty, devotion, and a best friend who’s always ready for a game of fetch. If you’re looking for a fun, devoted companion and have experience with shepherd-type dogs, Carley may be your girl! Visit our website at www.rdrne.org to fetch an application and make it official! You must be at least 25 and live within a 5-hour driving radius of Thompson PA. We check veterinary references and require all pets within the home to be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and maintained on heartworm and flea & tick preventatives. Story
Razzle is the best puppy. He is SO handsome in person. Razzle is 9 months old and about 50 lbs of wonderful. Does great in any situation, but can be a touch nervous with some new people for a few seconds, til he gets comfy. Good with dogs and respectful kids. GSD experience will help a lot (not sure what he is mixed with, but is mostly GSD), and a fenced yard is so important to work with a pup of this age. Razzle is good in the car and pretty okay on leash. He is housebroken, crate trained, and is a real "by-your-side" kinda guy. A must meet, for he will steal your heart for sure. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions! We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER dogs are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health.  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $695 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)   January 28, 2026, 12:45 pm

Story
Trixie is the most wonderful family companion, and came back to us after about 5 months, as the situation changed, and they had to bring her back. She is 2 years old at most, and 65 lbs of awesome. If you like this breed and have GSD experience, this is your girl. She is great with dogs and people, but might try to chase your cat. She is smart and social and knows commands and will off leash train with ease. She is so pretty in person and just the right size. Trixie listens well and is eager to please. This girl was much loved and well cared for, but sadly, her family had to let her go. A must meet, for she will steal your heart for sure...  LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. Story
Sandy is a German Shepherd, American Pit-bull Terrier and Great Pyrenees Mix. She is 2 years old and extremely active. In her new home we are looking for someone who has the time to be active with her, give her all the attention she requires and love her unconditionally. We rescued her from an abusive household so she does have a lot of anxiety, paranoia and is afraid of a lot which causes her to retreat to her cage to feel safe. We know that she would do better in a household full of older children being that she really isnt aware of her surroundings when smaller children are around. Overall Sandy is a loving sweet girl and could play for hours on end! We hope to find someone that can give Sandy the space to run and have fun, someone who can be there for her and give her the life she deserves to have.
