Adam is 1-3 year old mixed breed (guessing part German Shepherd). He is 42 lbs. neutered male that loves to play! Good with other dogs. When we cast tested we were not really sure how he would be with cats in a home. Not aggressive but showed a lot of interest in the cat. He love to be with people. At first he is very scared in a new place but he adjusts well quickly once he knows he is not in danger! Waits patiently in his kennel to come out for a be leash walk! His ears do stand up a bit! Kiwi is a 2yr old spayed female that weighs 37 lbs. Kiwi was a field stray who can be kennel reactive when in a new situation.  Has gotten better over time with the dogs in the area.  She can sit, but need some leash work as can pull when first gets out, then calms down.  Has been good with dogs she has been introduced to, but we recommend slow intros to any new dogs.  She has not been around children since with us, so we have to test her yet with kids. The shelter can be a bit too exciting for him at times, but staff are helping him learn so much, proving that with time to acclimate and proper structure, Zemo will be an amazing boy.Zemo is looking for a breed experienced home that will give him the time to show what he is truly made of. He is open to meeting older children and other dogs, but can't be placed with cats. (A meet and greet is required at our shelter for any potential canine siblings). Phoenix is a 16 week old male neutered Shepherd/husky mix. He was found in the middle of nowhere in Texas with his 2 other siblings. They were taken to the shelter but due to their medical needs the shelter couldn't provide the adequate care needed. We pulled all 3 and rushed them to one vet only to be told that they wouldn't see them. We rushed them to another vet an hr away and they were all immediately admitted.  All 3 pups had mange,  scabies and were severely dehydrated.  They remained in the vets office for weeks getting medicated baths plus medical to treat their skin. Unfortunately the one sibling passed away a week later, he had swimmer syndrome and was too far gone. Phoenix is alive and well thanks to all the vet techs and vet working round the clock to treat him. Phoenix is current on his vaccines,  microchipped and also neutered.  Phoenix is a very clean puppy. He is very smart. He won't mess in his crate. He is crate trained as well. He is 16 weeks old and full of energy. He is friendly with other dogs. Phoenix is looking for his forever home with a family that loves to be outside and just enjoy the company of a 4 legged companion.  Phoenix will do best in a home with another dog so he can continue to thrive. Phoenix is looking for a foster or forever home. This is Pintas, we were asked to help this girl. The finder had been feeding her for a while trying to get her help and off the mean streets of RGV (Rio Grande Valley) where very bad things happen to animals all the time. She didn't have any luck and one day about 2 mos ago the finder went outside to feed Pintas and found that she couldn't walk or stand up. Pintas was hit by a car and left on the side of the road like trash in severe pain and to die alone. Pintas finder rushed her to the vet where we then learned that pintas had a fractured pelvis. We also learned at that time that Pintas was heartworm positive. She had to wait until she healed to be spayed. She will be scheduled in the coming week. Once she heals from spay surgery she will then start heartworm treatment. Puntas has made such stride and progress when the vets didn't have much hope for a 100% recovery. Pintas now can run, jump and play. Something the vet didn't expect to happen. They said that she would need surgery but Pintas proved them all wrong. She will be available for adoption once she finishes her heartworm treatment.
