**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Boswell. I'm about 2 years old and I weigh about 68 lbs. I was found as a stray and I was brought into the pound. I am a very sweet boy. I love people. I am very loving and affectionate. I love belly rubs and I enjoy attention. I tend to follow my nose and forget that I have ears whenever I am on the go, so I don't always listen, but when you have my attention, I am very smart and listen well to basic commands such as sit and lay down. I have been great around all of the other dogs that I've met here at the pound. I would love another young, active dog to play with. I do a great job of keeping my kennel clean and I appear to have been a house dog before making my way into the shelter. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Trudy is a 6 year old pup loves attention, sometimes a little too much. Pushes her sis away to steal pets. Main reason for needing rehomed is my wife has recently come down with health, and balance issues. Unfortunately, Trudy likes to be right at her heel, and under feet. even on stairs. She has a ton of energy for a 6 yo. loves rope toys, not too much of a fetch playing dog, but sometimes while sis is in the house she'll play. I recommend an only dog home with her. She plays way too rough with her sis. She would be a great lap dog. About 4 years ago We got her from someone who couldn't take care of her. She was skin and bones, so she is sometimes protective of food with her sis. She seems like was trained in a bad way. Kind of Acts like you're going to hit her when only you're just petting her. Good with cats. Daily around kids of all age's toddlers to teens really good with kids! Whines if not enough attention. Gentle. Need to find a home soon I'd hate to take her to..

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Transport available **** Luke is a gentle and loving German Shepherd with a more relaxed personality. At three years old, he enjoys companionship and is happiest when spending time with his people. While he still has a playful side, he tends to be calmer and loves belly rubs, lounging by your side, and being part of the family. Luke has undergone basic obedience training and knows commands such as sit, stay, and come. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. His eager-to-please nature makes him a quick learner, and he enjoys positive reinforcement during training. Luke gets along well with other dogs, enjoys the company of children who love spending time with a sweet and affectionate dog, and has the potential to live with cats if properly introduced. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and ready for a loving home where he can bond closely with his new family and enjoy a stable environment.  Luke is not a Rose's Rescue dog we are posting this in order to help his caregiver find him a loving permanent home. He was rescued during the housing crisis in California when his previous owners were unable to keep him. He has received training and medical care during his time in his foster home. There will be an adoption fee of $250. Luke is located in the Santa Monica, CA 90401 area but transport is available anywhere in the US. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Moose here,  I am one big, handsome dude. I am apx 7 and weigh in at 75 pounds. As shepherds go, I am very loyal to my people. The gal whom rescued me is my angel. I am house trained, trustworthy loose, and good with dogs. I know how to sit, stay, come, leave it, and lay down. I am friendly, but when people first arrive, I have an intimidating bark. Isn't that what I am supposed to do? I am a loving boy, that is easy. My angel has several cats. I don't have a problem with them, but they have a problem with me. I make them anxious and that makes my angel have anxiety. She loves me, but needs to find me a new home. If you have a cat, it won't work.  I will be too intimidating. Therefore,no cat in the home with me.Hey you shep lovers, I am your guy and the cats need a break. Consider me? You won't be disappointed.
