Meet Fritz! Fritz is a 1 year old Shepherd/Terrier mix. He weighs about 40 pounds. Fritz was found as a stray, and was very nervous when he first came to us. Now, he is a happy, high energy, and playful young man! Fritz will need a tall fenced in area to play in, while he was outside we learned that this jumping bean can scale a fence and jump it! It will be necessary for his home to have a high fence that he won`t be able to jump. Fritz loves to go for walks and play fetch in the play area. He is young, and we feel that some basic training would help him greatly. He loves everyone that he meets, and would do best with a family that could give him the proper time and space for him to burn off all of his energy. He seems to like the other dogs here at the shelter, but we are unsure of how he would do in a home with children or cats. This can be tested upon request. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered as well as current on all annual vaccines in order to be approved, and any potential canine housemates must come for a meet and greet to ensure that it is a good match! I love to play fetch with a stick and will even bring it back and drop it at your feet so you throw it again for me.I love dogs,kids,and all kinds of people.I will sit and lay down for a treat before gently taking it from you.I may be a big boy but I am a sensitive boy with a sweet soul.(so I have been told) Unfortunately, my brother has started getting jealous of me when I am around the kids, which is why I have that little chunk out of my ear. Therefor, I am looking for a new family to love me for the big sweet boy that I am(again what I have been told). I have lots of energy so would need a big yard to play in and would love some kids and maybe another dog to play with.I have never been around cats so am not sure how I would be with them.Not to brag but I do awesome as a running partner,am great on a leash,do fine in a crate,and have even chased a coyote away when it came too close to the family I am living with.My favorite things are playing and getting lots of love! Roman was found abandoned on the side of the road by a family friend he is microchipped and when we contacted his owners to see if they would like him back they said no. Roman is a Husky, German shepherd mix he’s talkative just like his ancestors but he’s very well trained. He’s completely house trained and will actually tell you when he has to go to the bathroom. He is a beggar and a trash eater but he’s also a cuddler. He loves sleeping at the foot of the bed or even on the floor if he deems there’s not enough room for him. Since taking care of Roman he has become the head of the house. It’s his world I’m just living in it he’s a very sweet very good boy and ho just needs a place to run. He’s a very active dog and he loves to sprint he does not liked being cooped up. He’s completely healthy and up to date on his shots.

Sweet, timid Hathaway didn't have the easiest start in life. She was brought to us by a private rescuer after being taken from a backyard breeding operation where she was found living outside, tied to a tree. Because of the conditions Hathaway was forced to live in, and her limited interaction with humans, she has a bit of a hard time adjusting to new situations and people. Once you earn her trust, though, you'll find that she's just a big, goofy pup with so much love to give! She enjoys spending time with staff and getting all the hugs and kisses. She may need a little more time to become comfortable in her new home, but we promise she's worth the patience!

My name is Ghiacciaio, which is Italian for the word glacier. I am 11 months old and I weigh 60 lbs. (9/1/23). I am very loving and I never meet a stranger. I greet everyone with a wagging tail! I am also extremely intelligent and a very fast learner. I get along well with other dogs, cats, and children. I love being with my people more than anything! I will choose playing with a person over playing with a toy any day! I am house trained and I ride well in the car. I have a medium energy level and I rarely bark. I look really big in the picture with my person, but that is because she is short. I am a wonderful companion and I would love to have a permanent family to call my very own! I'm heartworm negative and up-to-date on my rabies and dhpp vaccines. I will be seen by a veterinarian before going to my new home. All of my medical records will accompany me. I was rescued by my foster mom from a home environment where I was not abused but not cared for very well. I was only 35 lbs. at 7 months of age when she took me in. Because she has other dogs and has just found out that she is pregnant with her first baby she needs to rehome me. Ghiacciaio is fostered in Danbury, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available if needed. Because our county animal shelter stays full and has a high euthanasia rate, we post our pets in several different locations. We do this to maximize their exposure in hopes of getting our pets adopted as quickly as possible to make room for another unwanted pet. Email is the best method of contact. Though no fault of his own, he is in need of a new home. DOB 04/25/2020. He is very sweet, loving boy. Good with kids and loves to play. Up to date on shots. He is not neutered. Located in Fairlawn, OH He been around cats before and one other dog. He chases the cats for fun. He fought with the other dog over food only and they slept together in same area for a while. He would do best as an only dog since he is not used to other dogs living with him.
