Story
Hi! My name is Cadence. I am a 4-year-old German/Anatolian Shepherd mix with big brown eyes and a heart of gold.I’m house and crate trained. I know sit and shake.  I adapt to just about any environment with a little bit of time.  Loud noises do not bother me.I love car rides and get so excited when we get to where we’re going, I try to climb into the front seat. I love tennis balls, squeakers, tug ropes, really any toy if you will play with me.  I love to be brushed. I love my chin and chest scratched. I love treats. I love praise.  You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m a lovebug.  My foster mom says I pick things up really fast, but I don’t always mind my manners.  I really enjoy walks but haven’t figured out why I need to be tethered to a human.  I pull in every direction at first because there’s so much to see and smell, and by the way, I am strong.  The foster humans are being patient and working with me but it’s going to take time to break my old habits. There’s a 5’ fence at my foster home and that keeps me safe, but I might be able to jump a shorter fence. Baby gates in the house are no match for me.  I’m right at home in a dog park.  My previous human couldn’t provide the care I needed so my ears got infected and are a little sensitive and scarred.   The veterinarian said we’ll have to keep a close watch for infections forever.  I’m close to 70 pounds.  I’m up to date on all my vaccinations.  I get along with everyone I meet, but I was a little bossy with my foster sister when we first met.  I barely notice the cat.  I like to rough house when playing and sometimes forget that I’m a little clumsy and bigger than everyone else.  I’m working on the basics of leash training and not jumping up when I’m excited with my foster family and am showing progress but still need some work.  My breed is known to be independent, intelligent, loving and loyal and I am all of that.Apply online or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approved 4 yr old spayed German shepherd. 62#, adopted from animal control, vet told owner that she needed to treat her ears, owner said she would have to come back on payday… never saw her again. Cadence was later taken back to AC for euthanasia. Tech at AC couldn’t do it because cadence is so sweet… so they sent her to our clinic and dr evaluated her ears. She has suffered chronic untreated ear infections for who knows how long.. ear canals are cauliflowers and cadence will have to have ear exams abt every 6-8 weeks. We packed them w a two week treatment last week. Her ears are very sensitive, and she had to be sedated to treat them. She is a precious girl and doing well with her foster just after one day!Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bailey Bailey is a sweet German Shepherd mix with a gentle, loving nature and a warm, social personality. She truly enjoys being around people and does wonderfully with other dogs. Bailey is a bit timid in new situations and would thrive in a calm, adult-only home or a home with teenagers where she can relax and settle in at her own pace. She’s at a great age to really benefit from positive socialization and being thoughtfully exposed to new environments, which will help her continue building confidence. She would do best with confident, patient owners who understand that shy dogs blossom with consistency, reassurance, and time. In the right home, Bailey’s personality shines brighter every day. Bailey is both crate trained and potty trained, making her an easy addition to the right household. She’s ready to offer loyalty, love, and plenty of tail wags to a family committed to helping her feel safe and secure. If you’re looking for a sweet companion you can grow alongside, Bailey may be the perfect match. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  Medical Notes: Spayed Weight 35lbs on 10/18/25 Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Maintained on monthly preventions Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 1, 2026, 10:24 pm

Story
Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
“The dog lives for the day, the hour, even the moment.” This reminds us of Russ, who savors each day to the fullest and is such a free spirit! Why we love him: Russ is a bouncy, happy-go-lucky dog who is always so glad to be in your company! He is two years old and weighs 64 pounds. Russ has one of those wonderfully expressive doggy faces that looks like he is smiling, and his merry brown eyes reflect his joy for life. He reminds us of a big puppy! Russ is a very enthusiastic companion on walks and is more than glad to help you get your daily exercise. He would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Outings in the fenced yard are a great outlet for his abundant energy, and he bounds about in total joy! He especially enjoys playing with the toys. Russ loves games of fetch, too. Russ is a bright dog who should master any commands you want to teach him. Russ has had some great outings with one of our dedicated volunteers. He enjoyed riding in the car, spending time exploring the yard, observing the chickens and meeting the family cat and dogs. He would do best in a family who will give him structure, consistency and routine. Lucky Russ has spent time in two foster homes. His first Mom says: "He’s very true to what I’ve read about Coonhounds. Russ loves toys and sticks and has a very playful side. He really enjoys being outside sniffing and searching for adventures. Russ is not very vocal, just when the other dogs get barking, he will add to it. He needs someone that will assist with getting his energy out and directed in a good place. He does also love his sleep! Russ is crate trained and sleeps through the night. He enjoys long naps on his raised dog beds. But when he’s awake, he’s ready to go. Russ is easy to bathe and thinks car rides are a fun time! He would be best in a home with older children. Russ can be selective with dogs because he wants to play hard and not all other dogs appreciate that. A meet and greet is required if you have another dog. He walks really well on a leash and finds a lot of joy in outdoor adventures. Russ can be overstimulated inside, but with structure he’s shown that he can relax inside." His second foster reports: "Russ has had a fun foster visit to our house for Christmas. He got a nice big chew bone in his stocking and a box of Milk Bone biscuits. He loves to sit on the sofa and watch tv in the doggie den but always wants a human to be there with him. He LOVES attention. We have discovered Russ is most comfortable in his kennel at night when we cover it. It calms him down tremendously and goes in when you tell him "go to bed." He is really good friends with my son Hayden who is not allowed to sit in a room where Russ is without getting lots of love from him. Russ also loved meeting my grandhildren. He has really enjoyed playing outside with "Little Buddy" the most. We tossed tennis balls for them for over an hour to wear them out." Russ is a very special dog who will be such a fun family companion! E-mail ccacangels@yahoo.com for more information! Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Meet Red Moon 🌙 Looking for a gentle, shy, and oh-so-sweet pup to love? Red Moon is your girl! This 5-month-old German Shepherd/Pitty mix has the perfect blend of brains, beauty, and heart. She’s great with cats, dogs, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for a loving family. Though she’s still learning the ropes of life like potty training and crate training, she shines brightest when she’s playing with her siblings or soaking up head scratches and giving kisses. Red Moon’s story started when her brave mom, abandoned by her owner, found safety at her foster home to give birth. Dad has been faithfully by Mom’s side for years, and together they’ve raised a litter of wonderful pups like Red Moon. She may start off a little shy, but once she warms up, you’ll see her fun side shine. Red Moon loves to run and play with her siblings (she’s the fastest of the bunch!) and will happily be your mellow cuddle buddy when it’s time to rest. If you’re looking for a pup who will adore you as much as you adore her, Red Moon is waiting to meet you! Go ahead and submit an adoption application for her now! ✨ Favorite toy: Her siblings ✨ Best rub spot: Right between the eyes ✨ Hidden skill: Outrunning everyone at playtime! $250 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $550 Out of State Adoption Fee (includes transportation to your area)
