Story
Hi! My name is Cadence. I am a 4-year-old German/Anatolian Shepherd mix with big brown eyes and a heart of gold.I’m house and crate trained. I know sit and shake.  I adapt to just about any environment with a little bit of time.  Loud noises do not bother me.I love car rides and get so excited when we get to where we’re going, I try to climb into the front seat. I love tennis balls, squeakers, tug ropes, really any toy if you will play with me.  I love to be brushed. I love my chin and chest scratched. I love treats. I love praise.  You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m a lovebug.  My foster mom says I pick things up really fast, but I don’t always mind my manners.  I really enjoy walks but haven’t figured out why I need to be tethered to a human.  I pull in every direction at first because there’s so much to see and smell, and by the way, I am strong.  The foster humans are being patient and working with me but it’s going to take time to break my old habits. There’s a 5’ fence at my foster home and that keeps me safe, but I might be able to jump a shorter fence. Baby gates in the house are no match for me.  I’m right at home in a dog park.  My previous human couldn’t provide the care I needed so my ears got infected and are a little sensitive and scarred.   The veterinarian said we’ll have to keep a close watch for infections forever.  I’m close to 70 pounds.  I’m up to date on all my vaccinations.  I get along with everyone I meet, but I was a little bossy with my foster sister when we first met.  I barely notice the cat.  I like to rough house when playing and sometimes forget that I’m a little clumsy and bigger than everyone else.  I’m working on the basics of leash training and not jumping up when I’m excited with my foster family and am showing progress but still need some work.  My breed is known to be independent, intelligent, loving and loyal and I am all of that.Apply online or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approved 4 yr old spayed German shepherd. 62#, adopted from animal control, vet told owner that she needed to treat her ears, owner said she would have to come back on payday… never saw her again. Cadence was later taken back to AC for euthanasia. Tech at AC couldn’t do it because cadence is so sweet… so they sent her to our clinic and dr evaluated her ears. She has suffered chronic untreated ear infections for who knows how long.. ear canals are cauliflowers and cadence will have to have ear exams abt every 6-8 weeks. We packed them w a two week treatment last week. Her ears are very sensitive, and she had to be sedated to treat them. She is a precious girl and doing well with her foster just after one day!Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. Story
The rescue story of our perfect German Shepherd boy called Aries as told by his foster mom. He is about 6-7 years and just under 80 pounds: Aries is probably the happiest dog I’ve ever had! He has a lot to celebrate and I think he knows it… I heard that a GSD was at a full local “kill” shelter and made up my mind to rescue him when I heard he had 1 more day. When I went to the shelter to pick him up, his demeanor was to maintain his distance. You could tell he was confused and on his back foot about where he was and why. Then he got a whiff of my farm boots and the great outdoors and his expression changed.Upon arrival at my farm, his personality came alive. I turned him loose in a big grassy field and he ran and sniffed and explored, always coming back to check in with me to make sure I was ok with his enthusiasm!!Since that day he has never looked back. The freedom and carefree abandon he is experiencing is evident in his happy eyes and tail wags. His best friends are two Heelers who he frolics with for hours. His most favorite toy is a big blue ball that he happily plays with when everyone else is resting. Every morning and evening when I feed him he expresses gratitude with wags and a loving lick or two to my face. The best situation for him would be a home with a big yard and lots of room to run and play. He is is a mature and settled, calm dog who has thrived here with me and his new dog friends. He prefers no cat friends!     If you would like to know more please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#156&#168 Meet Garrett! &#226&#156&#168 Garrett is an amazing dog with a huge heart and an equally big zest for life. He has been deeply loved, and his family is devastated to rehome him—they're moving out of the country. This loyal, high-energy boy has been a constant companion, “nurse,” and best friend to his family. He’s happiest when he’s with his people, going for walks, or enjoying active time together. Garrett would thrive in a home that loves outdoor adventures, long walks, or even jogs. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Personality & Temperament • Loving, loyal, and deeply bonded to his humans • High energy — needs regular exercise and enrichment • Loves being part of the family and staying close to his people • Has great house manners — house trained and sleeps peacefully in his dog bed • Not crate trained, but has never needed one in his current home Dog & Cat Compatibility Dogs: Generally good with most dogs, but he can be selective. Best to meet new dogs in a neutral location: Should not go to dog parks or uncontrolled dog-heavy environments. Cats: Yes! He has successfully lived with a cat for years. Leash Walking & Reactivity Garrett walks well on a leash but can be leash reactive when he sees unfamiliar dogs. He responds very well to “watch,” “leave it,” and treats when the person walking him is attentive. Someone experienced with confident, energetic dogs will do great with him. Kids & Home Environment • Wonderful with children — he has grown up with a child who is now 5 • Apartment friendly as long as his exercise needs are met • Good eater — not a resource guarder, but may sneak snacks if given the chance! Ideal Home Garrett would be happiest with: • An active person or family • Someone confident handling higher-energy, stronger dogs • A household that enjoys long walks, hikes, or runs • A home where he can be close to his people • Potentially with another dog, if properly introduced, and not with a resource-guarding dog He is trained in the basics (sit, wait, down, shake), affectionate, eager to please, and truly wants nothing more than to be someone’s best friend. Garrett will make an active, loving household incredibly happy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 4:41 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is a gentle, tender-hearted girl who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe and open up. Once she trusts you, her sweet personality shines, and she becomes an incredibly loyal companion. This smart girl is potty trained, and she’ll also use pee pads if they’re available—such a helpful bonus for her transition into a new home. Bonnie gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats, making her an easy addition to many types of families. Because she’s still working on her leash skills, Bonnie will need a home with a secure, fenced yard where she can explore and potty safely while she gains confidence. With continued love and gentle guidance, she'll blossom even more. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving dog who just needs someone to believe in her, Bonnie may be your perfect match Medical Notes: Spayed Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Maintained on monthly preventions Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 11, 2025, 10:38 pm

Story
Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application
