Meet Honcho! Age: 3 Weight: 80lbs Honcho is a tale of two dogs. At the shelter, Honcho is anxious and barks a lot, but in a home, he was calm and quiet. At the shelter, Honcho is overwhelmed and distracted, but in a home, he calmed down and settled into the rhythms and routines of the people in the house. Honcho loves treats and to chew on bones, but in the home, he did not beg for food during meals. Honcho is still young enough to have some playful energy with toys, but he's also mature enough to enjoy curling up on his bed for a snooze. Honcho is affectionate and wants to be near people - taking a walk or snuggling on the couch are favorites! - but he's also content to relax nearby and keep a watchful eye on everything around him. Honcho did "protect" his home with a bark when unknown people approached, but he responded to his human's direction and quickly changed gears to greet the new friends with tail wags and kisses. Honcho would probably love to be the only dog in the house, but he doesn't usually mind having other dogs around as long as they give him space and don't harass him to play. However, Honcho has not done well with small dogs, and he isn't a fan of cats. This handsome, loyal, and loving guy would love to find his forever home before the holidays. Meet Bishop! Age: 7 Weight: 94lbs At seven years old and with a handsomely graying muzzle, Bishop is ready to live the good life in retirement. He knows sit, stay, down, shake, and come - but he's not always interested in using all those smarts. What Bishop wants more than anything is to sit next to you or lay at your feet. His satellite dish ears will pivot to listen and let you know he's paying attention, but the rest of him will relax into you. Bishop walks at a comfortable, easy pace, and he doesn't get too excited about anything he sees or hears. His ideal home would be one without small children; a mature home for a mature dude! During car trips, he lays calmly and quietly in the back seat. Bishop has done well with other dogs during his stay here, but we are unsure about his response to cats. If you want a gentle, mature dog, Bishop is happy to be your quiet and loyal companion. Thor is the perfect German Shepherd to offer the right and knowledgeable family or person.   This stunning boy is just 1 year old, and due to his family moving overseas, he reluctantly must be rehomed. This GSD is a looker and such a gentle soul.  He weighs 78 lbs and the definition of a perfect dog. He is perfect in the house, perfect in the car, perfect on a leash.  He’s just absolutely perfect.  Thor has had a very loving start in life, and this is a difficult decision for his family.   Everyone who meets Thor instantly gravitates to his kind soul, beautiful and trusting eyes, and easy going demeanor.  Thor is great with children, other dogs, and loves people.  He knows basic commands and is so much fun when romping and playing in the backyard.  Thor is neutered, UTD on all vaccinations, HW negative, microchipped, and ready for hus new life change.   He's in Tennessee but can travel easily northward on transport.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Active Axel is a handsome golden male German Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix who was born on February 11th, 2023 and is still a puppy in every way. He is one of six siblings that survived from a litter of 12. Our guy Axel weighs approximately 90 lbs, and is very GSD smart loving to be next to his humans.  This huge puppy is full of energy and he will fit perfectly in a home where there is a lot of activity, a fenced yard and people who love the BIG DOGS! He really likes walking, hiking, and just a ton of fun with activity. He also loves water and treats the water trough as his own personal spa. We recommend a home with a fence that is a minimum of 5 feet tall.   We do not suggest he go to a home with small children, or farm animals simply because he has no experience with them.  He hangs with his siblings and does well playing with them and also just enjoying their company.  He does need to eat separately for dinner as he protects his food from the other dogs due to early starvation. Handsome Axel is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped and he is kennel and crate trained for quiet time.  This boy needs some time and attention from a caring and dog savvy owner.  He would love to cuddle with you and be your adored companion.  He has such potential…..such love and such a need to grow and evolve into a fine companion in life.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in this big baby!  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Easy Ryder is like his name, an 'easy'  two year old German Shepherd boy that would love to join Peter Fonda on a motorcycle ride.  This boy loves to go, go, go and he's a ton of fun and a super  playful boy.  He is good with children, other dogs, but no cats unfortunately.  He’s a great car “rider”, loves his walks, and he loves hiking into the mountains.  He’s 70 pounds of all muscle, great health and good hips.  No issues whatsoever with health or dog habits and is UTD on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, HW prevention. He’s one healthy lover of a dog.
