Story
Sweet, Gentle Shepherd Mix Looking for a Calm, Loving Home. Pretty Boy is a sweet, gentle German Shepherd mix who’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion. At 81 lbs, he’s neutered, fully vetted, and incredibly smart — already knows basic commands and eager to learn more. As we work with PB, he is showing signs that he is close to being potty trained. PB is a true lovebug who thrives on attention, enjoys walks, and happily snuggles on the couch or at your feet. He’s been great with kids and other dogs and walks politely on leash. Pretty Boy has a manageable eye condition (Pannus) treated with daily drops and isn’t painful. He’ll come with supplies and lots of love — all he’s missing is his forever person. Pretty Boy is my parent's dog. My dad passed away in September and my mom has dementia and that is why we are having to rehome PB. There's no way we would let go of this precious dog otherwise.

Story
Meet Mia a 4-year-old, 70-80 lb fully vaccinated and spayed beauty who thrives in a structured environment and has consistently proven herself easy to work with, responsive, and eager to please. Mia is looking for a calm, confident adopter who can offer her the routine and structure, which is where she thrives! She&#39ll do well in a dog-savvy home and gets along with other dogs when management is clear and calm. We recommend a home without young children; teens may be fine with guidance. Over the years, she&#39s completed several training programs--passing each with flying colors! . To support her in her next chapter, Happy Gentle Dogs will provide a complimentary Board & Train before adoption, along with a smooth, hands-on transfer and follow-up support to set everyone up for success. Mia has a solid foundation and a big heart. If you&#39re ready to meet her with patience and purpose, we&#39d love to hear from you. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Mia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.December 17, 2025, 12:17 am

He&#39s housebroken, crate-trained, and knows commands like &#34sit,&#34 &#34down,&#34 &#34off,&#34 and &#34outside.&#34 He&#39s working on leash manners and will do best with someone who can offer firm, patient guidance. Franke thrives with structure--he needs regular crate naps to recharge and a yard to run and play. Story
Mondo is a striking German Shepherd mix who takes his job as “Chief Perimeter Inspector” very seriously. At around 2 years old, this handsome guy is always on alert, watching everything around him like a canine security camera (with better ears). He’s incredibly smart, walks great on a leash, and is crate trained like a pro. But don’t let his serious stare fool you—Mondo has a goofy side too. He loves to play ball and will happily chase it until your arm gets tired. When he's in his element, you’ll see that spark of silly energy that makes you laugh even on tough days. Mondo isn’t your average couch potato — this dog wants to move! He’d thrive with an adventurous, outdoorsy human who enjoys hiking, traveling, or just tossing a ball in the backyard. Shelter life is starting to wear on him, and he's showing signs of kennel depression. He urgently needs out — ideally into the home of someone active, consistent, and calm. Because of a behavioral issue in his past, Mondo needs an adult-only home with no other pets. He has strong guarding instincts and would do best with someone experienced in working or protective breeds. He’s not looking to be everyone’s friend — just someone’s everything. Mondo has never had the chance to truly bond with someone, but we believe there’s a soft heart behind that watchful exterior. With time, patience, and structure, he has the potential to discover what it means to feel safe, understood, and finally… home.
