Story
Let me introduce myself, I'm Lakota, Kota for short, and I am looking for a family to call my own. My foster family picked me up in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Oklahoma. My previous owner lived in a camper and figured out quickly that I was going to be way too big for that lifestyle and was giving me away. My foster mom has a soft spot for GSD's and brought me to her house in Texas, it was a great ride, I love car rides! I am still a puppy, be it a big one, so I am still learning what's ok for me to chew on and play with. I live with 2 other dogs and a few cats in my foster house. I probably shouldn't go to a house with cats because I like to chase them, I don't want to hurt them I'm just playing with them but they don't exactly like playing with me, go figure CATS! I am still learning about the big, wide world and sometimes can be afraid of new things but usually get over it quickly. I am housetrained and will let you know when I need to go out. I will require a family that will work with me to become the best dog that I can be. Do I sound like the perfect puppy for you? If you would like to meet me please reach out to my friends at habitat4paws.org and ask about me. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Story
Liza is a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd who was surrendered to our rescue by her owner who had become homeless. She is a high energy girl who loves to play, but is very affectionate with her people. She is great with other dogs and would do well with kids 7 and above. She is crate trained and potty trained and would be great for someone who likes to hike or someone that is very active. If you would like to adopt a dog from Rescue Row please fill out an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2006283##

Story
Mimosa is 4 years old! She is around 70 pounds and a big cuddle bug. Per Wisdom Panel she is a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees/American Pit Bull Terrier/Chow Chow/Siberian Husky Mix, along with 11 other breeds. She is great with cats. She is excellent on a leash, house trained, and kennel trained. Mimosa is nervous around anything new and will bark at first, but once she is comfortable and knows her surroundings, she stops barking. She needs an adopter that will be understanding of this and allow her time to become comfortable. She is more comfortable around females, then males. Although Mimosa is good around children and teenagers, a quieter home would be best for her. If you are looking for a dog that will be your best friend and an awesome walking partner, then look no further, Mimosa may be your gal! Due to her breeds, no apartments please! Story
We got Casper as a stray, and named him Casper because he’s white and he was a little nervous at first. He got accumulated with our other dogs and definitely needs some companions and tons of loving attention. Casper loves long walks and is great on a leash. Casper also loves his kennel and his bed. Casper has been a great dog but since our other dog has passed Casper definitely is lacking some attention and needed exercise. As my wife and I are expecting we are needing to rehome Casper because he needs more attention and my wife is a high risk pregnancy and this is taking lead on our time over Casper.

Story
Luna was adopted in Jan 2023 from the local animal shelter. Over time the family dynamic has changed and with a new baby on the horizon, the family feels it's best to find her a more suitable home. She is very sweet and smart but needs extra guidance and support due to separation anxiety. She's currently on medication for her anxiety and we have seen improvements.  Luna is housebroken and crate trained. She does great with large dogs but is not a fan of small dogs (especially males). She has not been around kitties. She would do best in a home with no kiddos or older respectful kids as a house with chaos is not the best place for the guarding shepherd breeds who prefer order.  She is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. All she needs now is a forever home to call her own. If you are interested in getting more information about Luna and or setting up a time/date to meet her, please complete an online application today: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society DOB: 1/13/2021 Weight: 66lbsWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
