Story
Kira is a handsome young (about 18 months old) brindle Shepherd / Pittie mix.  She is curious about cats and gets along nicely with the little Jack Russell Terrier sharing her home.  For about 3 months, Kira has been training with a professional, and knows sit, down, stay, heel, come, and door manners (but could still benefit from more practice). She has high energy and often gets the “zoomies”, but also loves a good cuddle on the couch.  Kira is currently taking an allergy medication which is potentially thought to be food related. With her athletic frame, puppy energy, and outgoing personality, she will blossom in a home that provides lots of activity, a space to run and “stretch her legs”, and an engaged owner! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Kira is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.September 26, 2023, 6:18 pm

Story
Miss Pupper is a German Shepherd, approximately 1-2 years old. She is sweet girl who would be perfect for anyone looking to adopt a spunky companion. She was found as a stray and is still learning to trust again after being on the streets, but with some training and patience she will make the perfect best friend. She loves squeaker toys, sticks, and walkies! She knows basic commands such as sit, shake, lay down, and roll over - but is very eager to learn! She is crate and potty trained. She gets along with other dogs, but has not been around cats or children since she’s been fostered. She has so much love and loyalty to give! Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! Story
Ollie is full of life and enthusiasm at 18 months (Oct 2023) and 70 happy pounds!  She knows basic commands as come, sit, down, paw, break and stay, and is potty and crate trained. Ollie does well with other dogs but unsure with kids. She can be fearful of strangers which makes her protective, until she learns they can be trusted. Ms. Ollie loves to chew on dog toys, she will listen to you as long as there is some positive reinforcement as incentive! :) Spayed and current on vaccinations. She would love a big yard where she can run around and play with her sticks! Ollie REALLY loves playing tug of war and tag!
