Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Beau is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
I am currently going through a high-conflict divorce involving domestic violence and have been medically diagnosed with PTSD. As part of my recovery, I adopted Goose from the local animal shelter with the hope of training him to be a service animal. I invested over $4,000 in professional service dog training, but in the midst of my ongoing legal and housing instability, I have not had the time or capacity to continue his training or provide the consistent structure he needs. I am currently living in a temporary Airbnb rental, and his boredom has led to some destructive behaviors—such as chewing furniture and doors—which I am financially liable for. The landlord has asked me to rehome him.

Story
Willow’s story starts with heartbreak—this 4-5 year old German Shepherd mix came to us as a stray, her body showing clear signs she had recently given birth. Despite Animal Control’s best efforts to locate her puppies, they were never found. But even after all she’s endured, Willow hasn’t lost her gentle spirit. She leans in for affection like she’s trying to make up for lost time, with eyes that hold both sorrow and hope. Willow seems curious and open around other dogs, quietly wagging her tail as if asking, “Could we be friends?” She’s ready for a new beginning, a home where she can finally be the one cared for, loved deeply, and never left behind againThe adoption fee for this pet is $75. This cost includes spay/neuter, microchip, and all vaccines.June 10, 2025, 6:20 pm

Meet Lily, a 1-2 year old German Shepherd with a PhD in Shyness... until you throw a tennis ball. Then she turns into an Olympic athlete with no brakes! If you’re looking for a pup who’s 99% chill and 100% fetch-obsessed, Lily’s your girl! The adoption fee for this pet is $75.
