Story
Colt is a playful, sweet and loveable dog who was born around December 2009.  He is a bit shy around new people but once you get to know him he is a sweetheart.  He prefers a home without young children due to sudden moves which frighten him.  He would love a family that will love him forever. If interested in adopting Colt please fill out our application at www.lifelongfriends.org/adoptions. Please note we only adopt in Texas and all family members must be available to meet Colt prior to approval.

Story
Thunder is a 3 year old sweet dog who is pretty low maintenance and knows basic commands. He is very chill and low energy. Thunder considers himself a beta dog and has a timid temperament. He is not aggressive and has no bite history. He shows submissive urination occasionally if nervous or intimidated. Thunder’s lipstick is always stuck out a little bit (please see photos). Also he seems to have a chicken allergy, so we avoid chicken in his dog food. If interested, you must have experience with large dogs, a yard, and some time/energy to spend with him on a regular basis. My daughter and I have canine allergies (just recently got diagnosed by our ENT doctor). Rehoming him only because we don’t have the time to dedicate to him and our 5 young kids, and want a better life for Thunder.

Story
It breaks my heart to have to rehome Goose but my unforeseen change of living circumstances makes it necessary. Cost of living and a single mother living on a teacher's salary forced me into an apartment without a yard. I have tried for 3 months but cannot keep him. He needs a yard to run, not just an apartment dog park. Goose is a silly, sweet boy. DNA test shows he is German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees/Lab 95lb 18 mo. old Everything is current: shots, heartworm prevention, and flea and tick prevention, Neutered at 1 year We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He gets along with our 3 year old Belgian Mal/Pyr Mix Male dog, he got along with our male cat, plays well with other dogs but is shy at first, anxious, spooks easily, enjoys car rides. I'm hopeful he can be placed where that he can get proper training with a loving family and a yard he can play in.

Meet Mia - the lively two-year-old who came from a high kill California shelter all the way to Texas looking for a home. Can that be with you? The ideal adopter would be an active person who loves a hiking and swimming companion animal...did we mention she loves fetch and balls!! Mia loves games and would thrive with a basic obedience class. She will excel with this kind of work. Mia loves training! She adores both dogs and humans. She is house and crate trained and destined to be that perfect family pet. Call us today and let's set up a meet and greet with our sweet Mia!!  May 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Story
We adopted Siobhan (Sha-vawn) and her sister Sinead from a local shelter when they were just 8 weeks old. Siobhan is about 1 1/2 years old and approximately 65 lbs, much smaller than her sister. She is an amazingly smart dog. She takes to training very well and can learn just about anything if you devote the time to teaching her. Siobhan is also incredibly affectionate. She loves snuggling on the couch, belly rubs, and she gives a lot of kisses. She has been living in a house with 3 other dogs and does well with them. She is not aggressive towards them and has never shown any towards people. That being said, she does have a bit of a jealous streak. Siobhan wants to be your number one, and would be happiest as an only pet. She has never been around cats or small animals. She is house and crate trained. Siobhan would be an absolutely amazing companion/worker for an owner who has the time to devote to her training, and the space for her to be the shepherd dog she is.

Story
I am seeking a new home for my 7-month-old German Shepherd. He exhibits strong protective instincts and requires a nurturing environment with ample love and attention. He has undergone basic training, responding to commands such as sit, lets go for a walk and do you want to go outside? He possesses striking handsomeness, embodying regal and loyal qualities. Our ideal placement for him is a family setting where he can thrive alongside children, contributing to his overall positive development. Regrettably, due to my demanding work schedule and other commitments, I am unable to devote the necessary time and attention to his well-being. I believe he deserves an environment that fosters regular human interaction and promotes his holistic growth. A rehoming fee of $500.00 is associated with this placement. Please note that once you decide to adopt him, the arrangement will be final.

Story
Hazel is a very attention seeking and loving dog. She has some separation anxiety and requires her own kennel and space. She is good with people & kids. She is very protective and walks by your side when on a leash. She is leash reactive with dogs, but when it is off, she is dog friendly and loves to run with other dogs to play. She loves to run & exercise to her hearts content. She loves car rides. If there is another dog in the home, she needs special one on one time. Hazel came from a great home, but she did not get along with the previous owners female dog and had to make the hard decision to surrender her in order to find the perfect fit.
