Story
Forrest is 3 years old. He is extremely loving, and playful. He absolutely loves getting new toys and he’s not afraid to tell you when he doesn’t like certain food. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old and I love him so much. He’s extremely protective over me which is not the greatest thing. He’s gone through boarding and training on a farm and does well with female dogs that arr almost his size, about the same or bigger. He’s doesn’t do the best with male dogs and he’s very reactive. He’s house trained, knows his name, knows to go to his area when I say go to your bed. He sits, gives me his paws to clean when he comes from outside. He loves to play outside but he’s definitely an indoor dog, he tends to get overheated when out too long. He needs an experienced pet owner, who can handle his aggression. He’s a working dog and likes to stay busy but he loves to cuddle.

Story
Due to an unforeseen schedule alteration, I regret having to rehome my friend. He requires more attention than my current time permits. He is energetic, kennel-trained, and friendly with people. However, he needs socialization with other dogs and pets. He enjoys playing, walks, and is overall a good dog. **Breed:** Sable **Color:** Sable **Age:** 4.5 years old **Neutered:** Yes

Meet Mia - the lively two-year-old who came from a high kill California shelter all the way to Texas looking for a home. Can that be with you? The ideal adopter would be an active person who loves a hiking and swimming companion animal...did we mention she loves fetch and balls!! Mia loves games and would thrive with a basic obedience class. She will excel with this kind of work. Mia loves training! She adores both dogs and humans. She is house and crate trained and destined to be that perfect family pet. Call us today and let's set up a meet and greet with our sweet Mia!!  May 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Story
Nikki is a happy, young pup who is ready to find her furever home. She is about 12 months old, fully vetted and spayed. Nikki absolutely loves people and is a total snuggle bug. She wants to be close to her human and will happily sleep nearby just to be near you. She is very affectionate, sweet, and thrives on human connection. Nikki does well with other dogs, especially medium to large, young dogs who can keep up with her playful nature. She would also do great as the only dog in the home. Nikki does need to be fed separately from other dogs, as she can be protective around food. She has shown no issues with toys or bones. She is crate trained and potty trained. Nikki is a joyful, affectionate pup who just needs a home with lots of love. If you think Nikki might be the perfect fit for your family, please message us to learn more. We do foster to adopt to makes sure you and Nikki and the right fit! To email us with any questions: fureverfriendsandrescue@gmail.com

Story
Unfortunately I’m having to re-home Willow. With going to college and other life situations I cannot give her the time she needs and will only have less time going forward. She’s a solid black, Intact working-line female, 70–75 lbs, turning 5 in July. No bite history. She is people-selective and does best with slow, neutral-ground introductions, especially with women. Not suitable for homes with children. She would probably be best being the only dog in the home, though she has historically been tolerant of certain large, calm male dogs in controlled situations. She is fine with cats. She has a medical history of pica and two bowel obstruction surgeries, resulting in chronic GI sensitivity and may have overnight accidents if kenneled. Requires strict management to prevent ingestion of non-food items. She’s incredibly sweet and loyal to people she knows, and a great watch dog.

Story
Big Chief — Looking for a Softer Place to Land Big Chief is a male dog who appears to be a German Shepherd, weighing about 57 lbs. He is new to us, and we’re still learning more about his personality and preferences as he settles in. Right now, the shelter environment is a bit overwhelming for Big Chief, and he would truly benefit from spending time in a foster or adoptive home where he can decompress, relax, and show who he really is outside of the kennel. A home willing to offer patience and a calm environment could make a big difference for Big Chief as we continue getting to know him. If you’re open to fostering or adopting, he’d love the chance to take that next step with you.
